Timeline for the development of Guntank and Guncannon is different in The Origin.

Actually, lots of background details are different in The Origin, which is why it has its own continuity, put aside from the original TV series and even the movies (which are more alike to the manga).

If episode 1 is just about Casval and Sayla, then maybe we would get another for Bright (his time in the officer academy) and one for Amuro (childhood with his parents, and the start of Project V).

It's following the big flashback in The Origin manga. So...
Spoiler for stuff from The Origin:

The presentation makes it pretty clear that the four parts will all feature Char and Sayla.

Huh... disappointing, but not necessarily surprising .

I thought that when I watch it first time, but maybe "Gundam The Origin I: Casval of the Blue Eyes" (or whatever the title really is because I can't remember it properly) is the title for the first OVA and not the whole arc.

Can this be the case?

Pah! G-Reko better be good and long. If not, Reconguistar might erode my love for Gundam.

No, if you watch it again they explicitly say all four episodes will be about Char and Sayla

"The story of the childhood days of Char and Sayla will be revealed in a 4-series story."

-what AnimeChannel translated from what was said by the vice-president

I don't know, I never read the novel before so could someone please tell me if there's more than enough content in the novel to be fleshed out over 4 OVA episodes?

Anyway, they could always tell the origins and the course of the OYW from the perspective of Char and her sister. So maybe events depicted in the original Gundam before could be visually enhanced and they delve into the thoughts and feelings of Char and Sayla. This way they could establish an emotional bridge between important events before OYW and the war itself?

True. I was looking forward to a 0079 remake. A pass for me, I guess

Good for me!

And beside, who would stop they from adapt something else like Amuro 0082?

Oh, and Artesia 0083. Wish that I could read it - maybe it will reveal some more about Operation Stardust.

(the time hole is almost filled with C.D.A and the two Origin manga)

Contrary to how some people feel, I am intrigued with the prospect of going deeper into the backstory of the Deikun & Zabi families. I mean, it’s the freaking events that started it all! How can I not be interested? And there’s shota Char & loli Sayla, a must watch for me .

If the absence of wall-to-wall action or a story told from the perspective of a kid turn you off, you might not be able to get past the first three episodes of Gundam 0080 and would miss a really good story (albeit a sad one).

I'm also interested in seeing Char's backstory animated. I just don't think it deserves four OVA's to do it .

The Guntank showing up in the preview implies that they'll be some action at least. I wouldn't be shocked if the first real battle between the Federation and Zeon in the OYW is animated, and it ends on the beginning of Operation V.

The problem with a story focused on shota-Casval and loli-Artesia is that I'll start shipping them.

Hmm... Maybe they would have some element from that non-canon manga. You know, the one from the perspective of young Garma?

The poster looks very nice, and Char's Zaku looks beautiful .

Though I would never have expected these OVA's to have a comedic animal sidekick to hang around Char and Sayla. At least, that's what I think the cat in the poster implies .
