I think the Saruhiko and Misaki drama CD apparently reveals a lot about their past, and it's apparently quite sad. I'm looking forward to it because I like stories about estranged friends.

It probably has to do with the ridiculously high standard adhered to for animating this series. I'm pretty sure they are blowing a HUGE budget just to animate 13 episodes.

So Neko can modify perception in a certain radius. Interesting. That explains Yashiro's everyday life. But then, what kind of connection does the Silver King have with Yashiro?

Can I get it too? Because as of right now, this show is nonsense albeit with awesome visuals.

Gah, this episode was once again lacking. Every other group feels insignificant compared to the Kuroh/Shiro duo, and they're not exactly pinnacles of excitement themselves. Hoping next week will be better in terms of...everything.

Maybe if it does well in Japan and in online streams(I believe Viz has the rights), they can animate another season?

But..I'm asking too much.

Spoiler:

I can see why though people prefer the Blue Group and HOMRA more over Shiro. Honestly, if it weren't for my love for Kuroh, I'd be all Team HOMRA too.

Namikawa(?) and Ono must make some serious, serious cash for voicing characters that are in essence, fujioshi bait (Black/White Team in K, Ulquiorra, Sebastian Michaelis, Italia)

Unfortunately Ks first two volumes have already been released and did pretty bad...so unless this was really a split cour show then we won't get a second season.

Hah? I saw the numbers, it should be enough to break even the very least.
And the novels are selling really well too.

Volume 1: 5,197
Volume 2: 3,679

It's not a flop but these figures are hardly what the producers would be aiming for, especially for the budget they likely poured into the anime. Not to mention that big drop from Vol.1 to 2 is not a good sign at all.

Pretty much what kakkou said. Its unfortunate but i think most of the fujoshi money is going too the next half of kuroko and magi (or jojo).

To pretty much echo the two posters above, aside for the superb animation quality the show isn't really doing much to appeal to a broader base. Usually when an anime does well among its audience, the demand for the source material goes up dramatically. Those figures for the novel distribution seems to suggest the anime hasn't boosted the sale by much. That's a bad news for the anime-fans if they are hoping to see another season of K. Heck, before your post on the brief history of those various characters, I had no idea what the story was about or where it was going. While the animation production is ridiculously good, the storytelling is very disjointed.

Those number are the DVD sale, not the novel sales. As far as I know, the novels are getting sold out really quick. Side: RED even sold out just by pre-order on Amazon, which I took as an indication that the series as a whole is doing well.

The first disc sold really well because it is cheap. So the sales number for the second disc is what we should be considered normal.

Though, looking at the sales pattern so far, I have to agree the audience of the series is limited. From the way it looks, it seems to suggest that Fujoushi are the only audience.

Though, it is possible that the series run into the same situation as Kagerou Project.
The novel for that series is reaching 500K sales, yet the actual CDs are barely breaking 50K.

I can see it too: exposition. I mean, Homra is getting the most attention: in the anime (where they're pretty much positioned as the good guys, had the whole sob episode with Tatara who was too good for this sinful earth, etc.), and there's a manga about them and a novel to flesh them out even more. Obviously, people are going to latch onto them. Compared to this, the Sexy Corps has only the novel, and hadn't had a focus episode in the anime (we had to wait until ep 7 for Munakata to even do something) where they're still in a "bad guys" position. But Shiro... being the main mystery of the anime they can't exactly do any background material, or even extended material about him. (Hell, even Kurou got a manga!)

Not as much as someone like Hanazawa Kana for her moe-bait roles....

I'll never, ever understand this complaint about K.
