It's very well crafted. Going through Act I alone, i see the enviroment changed a lot. You always get a sense of progression going into a new area.
Dialog and voice file are peppered all over the place from companion dialog (which is pretty good) to NPC dialog in town or just journal drops. Does anyone feel that Act I is a lot bigger in D3 than in D2? Just managed to opened up my last skill slot and it's great to be able to mix and match skills and rune on the fly. It's much more exciting to level up in diablo 3 than diablo 2 since you usually get a new rune/skill every level and it opens up a new option in your gameplay compare to Diablo 2 where the excitement died down a bit once you hit 30+ and your playstyle is pretty much static from then on. I just got my monk to lvl 20 and I'm comboing my skills a lot. Using Fist of Thunder + Thunderclap to teleport in, Cyclone strike to gather the mobs, 7 sided strike to lay the hurt and then Crippling Wave to clean up. Blinding Flash is my gtfo skill to blind my targets and Mantra of Evasion as my aura buff. Very different playstyle a few levels back when i was using a different skill set. In a way, it's like playing a card game with skill and rune, you are trying to build a coherent hand with the combinations and everytime you level, you get a new card to your deck. A new rune might change a current skill that turns another skill you had obsolete allowing you to use another skill instead. Having a limited number of slot really makes skill/rune selection very tactical. Sure you can change your layout easily but if you are in mid fight or in group, there's not much time to spare to stop and think about your change. Boss battles, well I'm only in the middle of Act II, but it's ok. It didn't blow me out of the water but it felt like a boss fight and it's still got that satisfying feel of killing em. In terms of con, b.net 2.0 ... it sucks not being able to make my own channel ingame. The banner feels pointless, I barely noticed the customization. Most of the time, i m looking at the name of the pop up box to know who i m teleporting to. I think the customization needs to be more drastic to differentiate. Crafting is really just gambling 2.0 for all it's purpose since stats are all randomized unlike crafting in diablo 2 where you atleast have some control in the stats. Of course there's the always online drm dead horse but i think everyone already knows that by now.

Just a warning tip for those about to fight the last boss in Act-4...
CLEAR. YOUR. BAGS. Before you begin the fight. Game will kick you out in 30s when some one starts the epilogue, and you will lose whatever was left on the ground since the game instance is destroyed. Lost a lot of gems, magic items and a rare. Cheers.

Does anyone know or have heard how much it is soloable, i. e. a difficulty "limit" at one point or so? I don't mind grouping in Diablo games for the sake of leveling, but the who-clicks-the-fastest-gets-most-loot of D2 was not very appealing in contrast
Nontheless, from what I've read so far I'll get the game also at some later point. |

And everybody would have their individual loot that only they can see and pick up so there won't be any loot-conflicts.

How does experience sharing work? I joined a friend's game with a new character and they were a bit ahead and I wasn't gaining much exp at all even though the monsters were hard to kill. But when I started a new game in the first quest my exp was climbing pretty quick.

This is just my offhand observation based on playing briefly with a lower level friend coupled with something I read on a forum. |
