Not really that popular. I haven't seen it in a top 20 LN list at all. But than again I haven't check in a month. Like I said before the art was bashed on quite heavily. In the beginning anyway. Stuff like Hagure don't tend to get that high in the rankings. Sale wise anyway since the genre is for a limited age group.

Top 20 is too generous- it's no where to be seen in the Top 60 Light Novels.

I haven't seen it in Oricon's weekly sales as well...

Not really. Duskmaiden and Sankarea roughly had around 20ish chapters when they got a anime. You don't need sales to get a animate when its ecchi. With sales you know you'll have fans. The same thing applied for DxD. It wasn't very well known until the anime aired. On the other hand this might give hagure some good press. Since the second purpose of anime is to promote.

Lol DxD was 10 volumes before the Anime was announced. I don't think that was 'low sales'

DxD never appeared in the Oricon weekly rankings until it's 11th volume, meaning it was probably doing under 10000 each of it's release week.

After the Anime aired, the 11th volume sold 27102 in it's first week, and 10282 in it's second week.

The 12th volume sold a very healthy 40762 in it's first week, and 10808 for it's second... Not Super popular, but healthy nonetheless.

im surprised and impressed by what this series has to offer in the future but honestly if Seikon no Qwaser got a 2nd season then things like this and DxD deserve one honestly cuz SNQ was one of the biggest ecchi anime's i've ever seen i mean for those who have read it im amazed it got a 2nd season

ARMS would be and is occupied doing "Maoyuu Maou Yuusha" which I think would be a good seller and also ARMS is also doing Queen's Blade Grimoire .
