Heh heh. Well, I wouldn't mind a scanlation. Of course, I'm perfectly content to have the manga in my hands personally. My, my, the things I must plan to do. Gotta reach into my funds and go on the hunt then and add it to the other Kanon manga. Heh heh.

Okay, just read the new manga adaptation for Kanon, so I'll post the spoilers here in a tag;

Spoiler:

1) It's a very new and interesting approach to the story of Kanon; instead of Yuuichi, the new Kanon manga takes place from the viewpoint of Nayuki instead.

2) Because of it, don't expect it to be 100% faithful to the original storyline per se; it does portray Nayuki's story very well, but as for the other girls.....forget it.

3) Yuuichi gets another new look again.

Well, at least this time he looks closer to the Sugita-Yuuichi than the Atsushi-Yuuichi or the "manga-joke"-Yuuichi....

4) Like I said, don't expect the new manga to be entirely faithful; much of the storyline whizzes past in a flash, such that Nayuki meets Ayu by the 20th page.

5) Apparently, Yuuichi is younger than Nayuki, even if it's only several months at most.

6) However, like I said before, the new manga portrays Nayuki's story very well since it takes place from her viewpoint; for the Nayuki fanboys like houko-dono who are pissed at Nayuki getting shafted for the third time in KyoAni Kanon, take this manga as complementary to Kanon (2006).

7) Not that the story in the new manga perfectly meshes with that of Kanon 2006 though; think of it as an 'alternate-Kanonverse' affiliated with the KyoAni-Kanonverse, except that this time Yuuichi pays far more heed to Nayuki than any of his previous incarnations.

8) Very interesting artistic styling; all the characters in the new manga actually look MORE realistic than even KyoAni's character designs. For one thing, the eyes are of a reasonable size this time, even though they're still quite large.

9) Interestingly enough, there's barely a hint of Nayuki's sleepiness throughout.

10) In conclusion, read the new manga for the Nayuki route. Don't expect too much else.....but for what it's worth, it has potential to do very well in what it's supposed to do, which is to tell Nayuki's story.

And I agree the drawing style is REALLY good and Nayuki looks better (not that KyoAni's Nayuki is bad or anything). But the story is really ,REALLY fast-paced. Don't read it if you're expecting something from the other girls.

Probably not going to be too many, unless the mangaka really wants to cover every aspect of the Nayuki route as it was in the game.

On another note, does anybody know how I can scanlate this? I can probably translate all of that on the spot, if only I know how to go about changing the Chinese words into English.....

As mentioned, the author took a different approach to tell the story by choosing show bits of the flashbacks right from the begining. I guess it's to cater for fans (especially Nayuki's) who have already played/read/seen Kanon for the nth time.

Rather refreshing. Doesn't seem to be a long series judging from the pace, but I'll follow it. :3

p.s. Being the same age as Skane makes me feel old. ^^

When I realized that was party of the original Nayuki route, I wished Toei animated that part. When I heard Kyoto Animation was remaking the series, I wished they would animate that part........ Alas, it was not meant to be.



I really hope an English translation group is picking this up. My Chinese went downwards pretty quickly after I stopped going to school in China.....
