As for Yamamoto's flightsuit, my theory is that, since she wanted to be a pilot in the first place, she probably got it in the off chance Kato changed his mind. Good enough?

As for the fighter and Garmillas flightsuit, the suit isn't actually Garmillan, it's just a normal uniform with a few bits added to it and the helmet painted green and with that visor thingy.



Mostly it's just to try and make the uniform sort of mimic Melda's. It's not perfect but it might be enough to fool anyone looking into the fighters canopy, at least from a distance. As in this situation:



As for the fighter itself, that's the biggest mystery. Either they had the "DDA" build one XD , they found it on the Warp Gate station on Beemera (the station seems abandoned but it may have been occupied by Garmillas at some point) or even on Beemera itself, having landed there at some point (and having th pilot devoured by the indigenous "population").

I was having trouble getting YouTube to stop on a dime — and I have a million other things to do today, which doesn't allow for dissecting the trailer frame-by-frame —thanks, Luis! As I surmised, quite by impression, the Yamato did make their own Gamilas flightsuit! As for the fighter, since it's the same model as Melda's, logic dictates that they just built their own. And if they captured (found) another, that works, too. But, still, Shinohara would need to train in a simulator at the very least, and know the craft inside and out, before piloting it. Again, thanks, Luis!

Funny how that scene in this chapter mirrors Domel's intro in the previous chapter... Domel, the great general and war hero, gets a scene where he lead his forces against Gatlantis, here Gimleh, the sneaky, Gestapo like unlikeable guy, get a scene where he comits genocide... In a spectacular way, granted, but man... guess Izubuchi had to remind us not to like the Garmillas so much. They're ruthless.

Desler now knows that Iscandar is involved with the Yamato, after Celestra reports the late Mirenel's findings.

In episode 12, Gimleh reported about rogue elements within the empire and was ordered to deal with them. And so he does. Wonder if this is what would have happened to Earth, eventually?

Misaki seems to continue in Yurisha mode and curious about her surroundings, especially the Wave Motion Gun.

Yamamoto has a jealousy fit and Shinohara pays the price... XD

It seems the Yamato has been running to long range probes for some time, prompting the ship to be called to combat readiness only to stand down when the Garmillas retreat. One of the pilots is a bit pissed.

Looks like someone got tired of cleaning boot prints from the floor screens and instaled railings to prevent people from stepping on them... XD

Beemela (guess that's how it's meant to bee written now, from the english speling on the screen) is not a planet but a star. The planet is designated Beemela 4. It seems a detour is in order for resuply as the OMCS has apparently run out of raw materials and rationing appears to be in place. Some crew members are not happy. (Fear of starvation is a powerful motive for mutiny)

Domel prepares his trap for the Yamato. The constant probes have been used to lead the Yamato to it. They think they're avoiding Garmillas forces but in reality... KABOOM awaits them...

I feel for you Yamamoto, but this match was pretty much decided before you ever met the guy.

So it sounds like they might be serious about putting Yuki in the cockpit? Sounds like they picked up an idea or two from the live action movie after all.

Kato and Makoto are now on a casual-speaking basis? Sounds like that crush is getting serious.

And now we're starting to get setup for the March of the Douchebags. Err, I mean mutiny.

As for the Desler's people slaughtering civilians en masse.......I have the feeling Dessler will be handing out generous servings of justice when he gets back from his fake assassination.

Well Dessler does have to get to the point were he'll just shoot his generals for failure befor he can get out of that habit. I don't know if Dessler would actually approve of wiping out a planet's population or not. I don't recall.

Also, the planet missiles are rather inefficeint compared to the stuff they use in Yamato III.

I know they had those on Pluto Base (one we saw them use one against Yamato on launch, and at least one more in the hanger as they evacuated Pluto), but I wonder if they used them on Earth. Most material suggests they just Planet Bombed the place rather than used the Giant Missiles. Though I suppose it is possible they used them, we've just not seen them used.

One thing i noticed in the trailer. . .in the battle scenes, they're in the main bridge, not the CIC. In episode 15 they're caught by surprise like in episode 8. But in episode 18, the attack on Balun seems to be a carefully planed operation. Wonder if they'll explain that, other than the main bridge is just cooler than the CIC.

The first question that came up in my mind after watching this: Who was the guy who was shot by Gimlehs guards? Was he the Gamillian ambassador (at least he looked like a Gamillian) who begged Gimleh not to attack the Planet?

Also, I feel bad for Yamamoto. I hope she finds someone else.

Another note: That is a LOT of carriers. Seems they have an interesting purpose. Also might mean the decked carriers are designed for another reason than these starfish like carriers.

I think the decked carriers are for fleet actions, and the Starfishs are for planetary invasions. This would fit their armaments and the fighter complement (they seem to carry the flying wing fighter-bombers exclusively).
