hurhur, I know a lot about clay. 83 I would suggest Ave's Apoxie, and also using some sort of wire mesh underneath it to give it support while it dries. You'd probs want some sandpaper or something too, to smooth it out when it dries.
Other than that though, I suppose paper mache would be the next best thing.. might be lighter too. Really depends on how much clay you would be using for the other thing in comparison. Mache's more brittle though, so..

It was actually in the courtyard/pool area of a hotel. It was at a con ^-^
