Wow! Thanks for the update darkplataform! I think we have almost complete scenes of the Star Date by now.

LOL Alto looks like he's feeding of Sheryl's arm like a vampire... Twilight Frontier anyone? *gets shot*

Thanks for sharing these spoilers! Not only informative, but amusing too

Spoiler for About Nanase:

・完結編はほとんど完全新作
The second/final part is pretty much all new animation.

The people who live on Island 1 are of a privileged class or part of the military, and were selected by lottery. Most of these 10 million people live underground, which is why the Vajra attacks haven't (hadn't?) been fatal yet.

Spoiler for About Sheryl and Brera:

Spoiler for Regarding Sheryl and Ranka's duet...:

Spoiler for Regarding Michael and Gilliam...:

Oh, and it looks like the DVDs might not be out for a while...a second round of cinemas will be screening it come January 16th. (Though Okinawa won't get it til at least February...)

Spoiler for movie:

(Why is the forum so quiet this few past days? Maybe because I don't celebrate Christmas, that's why I feel like this? )

Mostly because until we get to see the movie ourselves, we don't have much to discuss and have to rely on the few reviews posted online.

Ah, then it's too bad that we have to wait another 6 months to watch it... or, if the info posted above is true, that will add another 2 more months to the wait.

Just adding this to the translations, I have an urge to do it for some reason. I wonder why...

・菅野曰く、歌の力はランカは天賦の才を持ち、シェリルは努力に努力を重ねたタイプ

According to Kanno, Ranka's singing power is a natural gift she possesses, while Sheryl is the type who put on great effort for it.

...Also, advanced Merry Christmas to all!

Wasn't this kind of obvious from watching the show though XD?

I had the impression that Sheryl's talent was also a natural, and what she had to work harder for was only to gain her popularity.

For Sheryl, I think you could say it could have been either way. Maybe that's why they wanted to state clearly that her success was dependent mostly on her hard work.

With Ranka, it does come across as something that she just 'had'.

Since a comparison between Sheryls and Rankas singing voices results to me in a direct correlation of Sheryl = Christina Aguilera and Ranka = Britney Spears, it's no wonder to me.

Sheryls multiple octave singing voice must have taken a lot of singing practice to obtain, while Rankas more simple teeny-bopper songs are natural singing talent.

er...what's so bad about Christina? I don't listen to her much, but she does have a powerful voice that's more interesting than Britney's to listen to, at any rate.

Although I wouldn't say that listening to Nakajima Megumi is like listening to Britney either...

Voice-wise, May'n/Sheryl reminds me of a bit of Gwen Stefani (at least out of the Western artists I listen too - there aren't many), though I feel that No Doubt's songs aren't quite as 'poppy' as most of Sheryl's. As for Nakajima-san/Ranka's type of pop music...maybe Taylor Swift?

There is actually a bit more about movie 2 in the spoilers...but they seem to be things you're better off seeing for yourself...

and almost there, so Merry Christmas!!

Oh, well, nothing much except the fact that her public image isn't really something I'd like to associate with Sheryl. That, and the fact that her music isn't really my cup of tea.

God, I gotta watch this movie...

And Merry Christmas to you and everyone else, as well. May you have a nice time and behave, children!

I am a Ranka fan and I have significant experience in defending various "crimes" committed by Ranka, from her evil plan to terminate human races, to feeding inapporiate food to unknown lifeforms. If you think you find "new" charges aginst Ranka and you are interested, or you care to see how a particular Ranka fan would respond, please feel free to check my previous comment. Yeah, I really did compare her to Christina Aguilera, who has a powerful and beautiful voice. You might think what you want about the oversexualization of herself, but did you notice the costumes SHERYL is wearing?

And merry christmas to you all, too, from Germany.

My problem isn't with the oversexualization, as much as the vulgar displays of behavior. But I digress: she does have a powerful voice, but then again, her choice of music does not really appeal to me all that much...

Well, my comparison was not meant to compare personalities, but singing voices.

BTW, did you ever listen to Aguileras spanish album? ^^
