Macross - Favorite Quotes and Scenes Thread

A thread for your favorite quotes and scenes from Macross. Please don't type out the entire script from an episode quote your favourite part of any scene or episode.

This thread will most likely contain spoilers! If you are posting a quote from a recent episode then please use spoiler tags. (hint and make sure that you include a title for the spoiler!).

Also, as a courtesy to newer Macross viewers, please put spoiler tags on anything that gives too much away (i.e. the scene where it's revealed that the moon really is made of cheese).

Myung: You're as unbelievable as ever, Isamu.
Isamu: How's that?
Myung: As foolish and reckless as you've ever been.
Isamu: Ahh, no one can be smart and reckless.

Yup, Sheryl's quote is an instant classic. I'm extremely pleased with what they've done with her character.

On a slightly different note, my favorite quote from Macross Plus isn't a quote at all, it's the series of exchanges between Isamu and Guld when they were dogfighting each other and blaming each other for trivial things that happened years ago - all the way to not returning a "Guns" album. I thought that it went a long way towards establishing how close friends they had been.

Yeah that was some good stuff woven into the great action scenes, was something like.

Isamu - You owe me two lunches!
Guld - What!? You owe me 8 lunches!
Isamu - You actually kept count!

Doesn't beat Maximillian knowing Millia's bust size on sight in Macross, I'm sorry, just doesn't.

My favorite scene & probably quote(s) came from the original Macross, when I discovered Milia was actually making a living by playing video games...

I was laughing quite hard.

Seeing how there is surprisingly little from the original Macross, I shall refresh your memories!

Several of my favorite scenes involve the Zents' first encounter with humans.

A.

Scene: Exsedol is touring Macross city for the first time, escorted by UN SPACY soldiers. The vehicle then quickly passes by a lingerie shop...

Exsedol: *GASP* What is that provocative see-through garment!?

Escort: Uhh, uhh... I mean, uh...

Exsedol: I see, must be a classified military top secret!

B.

Something you really don't want to see twice:

The scene where Exsedol tried to imitate Minmei singing "Shoo, shoo, my boyfriend is a pilot".

C.

The three Zent stooges! Warera, Roli, and Konda. Their first time witnessing human televised programming involved a swimsuit contest, in which one of them (I forgot who) commented: "wow, I've never been so aroused before". In other words, for those who can't read between the lines, he just had a firggin' boner.

Oh, and if you combine their first names, it translates to "we are lolicon".

In fact, they were accused of being lolicons by none other than the bridge bunnies!

D.

The three Zent stooges and their search for food, where they thought they found some, but it turned out to be plastic displays. The owner thought they were homeless and invited them in.

E.

The Max and Hikaru exchange (excuse the paraphrase)

Max: Senpai, I have something important to talk to you about.

Hikaru: Yeah, whats up?

Max: I am getting married.

Hikaru: *Coughs violently, barfing drink in the process* WTF!? Look Max, love is like glass, it can easily be shattered!

Max: Senpai, are you speaking from personal experience!?

F.

Lastly, all hail Milia for being the victim of the lamest, and I mean, lamest pick-up attempt ever in anime. The process of Max n' Milia falling in love and eventually marry lasted for, gee, several hours. It was THAT quick. No wonder my favorite character in Macross is Max, because he picked-up the BEST booty ever, in Macross!! Milia, quality assurance guaranteed!

Global: Take off!
(engine blocks promptly rip themselves clean off the Macross)
Global: What in the world ....?!
Claudia: Those would appear to be our gravity control systems, sir.
Global: The gravity control systems?! You're kidding.
(Macross comes crashing back to the ground).
Global: What a piece of junk this ship turned out to be.
Misa: That's refurbished parts for you, sir.
Global: Gah.

...

Global: Don't you worry, I'm sure we can fold right back, seeing how we made it here in one piece.
(phone rings. Global answers it)
Global: Yes? What?! .... I see. I'll be right over.
Global (to the bridge crew): Apparently, the fold system has vanished into thin air.
Global: :sigh: Looks like this is going to be one long trip.
