honestly, if they redid all the battlescenes and made Rau less of a plot-character and changed the asspull ending for the fourth time it could be somewhat better.

... or just do a full retake and edit everything and have shinn join the orb alliance.

If they are to do more than just a remaster, then i could see them doing something akin to a ''re-vision'' or ''retelling''(not to be confused with a Remake) of Destiny.

Particually the last Quarter needs something like that.

Too late for that, Shinn already joined ZAFT and still hates ORB because they brought war to their shores that cost him his family. No matter what anyone says ORB dug their own grave in SEED for trying to be neutral while still communicating with both sides when they knew they were hellbent on killing each other.

If ORB was smart they would have accepted ZAFT aid on defending their shores from the Earth Federation's invasion instead of sticking to their foolish pride that got many ORB citizens and servicemen/women killed. They were the lesser of two evils... Until Rau purposely lead ZAFT into an Alaskan ambush that killed many ZAFT soldiers and drove the PLANTS crazy.

Under Patrick Zala, Zaft was going to exterminate all naturals. Would Orb really want to join them after knowing that?

He didn't have full support until after the Alaska incident and even though he was crazy he didn't completely break until the war really started to take its cost on everyone.

At that time it would have been fine joining with ZAFT since the peace wishing leaders were still alive and had a lot of power. ORB joining with them would make it harder for Zala and his supports to justify the war against all Naturals since ORB has both Naturals and Coordinators.

Patrick pretty much had complete control right after the Alaska incident. He had a bunch of committee members (his main opposition) who were wanting an assembly on the matter restrained for supposedly giving refuge to the Clyne's after the theft of the Freedom.

Not really, they could have Athrun actually talk sense into him, since what he said atleast left marks on Shinn as a character.

Hell, i'm having high hopes if they decide to remaster Destiny, atleast get rid of the stock footage, if they do that they might aswell redo the entire show since its 90% stock footage anyways.

A Destiny remaster would, in all likelihood, be like a SEED remaster. Some changes, even a few big visual changes, but it's still mostly the same with respect to the plot. And stock footage will definitely still be there.

Athrun is not the bets guy to go to for advice considering he didn't even know what he wanted and was joining and betraying every side possible until he finally landed back with Kira who only has to give Athrun the puppy dog eyes to get any thoughts of betrayal out of his mind.

That's only the scenes and even if changed doesn't mean they will change the story. Especially since the guy in charge liked how the story went and doesn't like changes like what Banpresto did with Destiny's entry in SRW Z and L.

The Orb government has to answer to public opinion ya know. Orb citizens, like how Americans cherish democracy, might take pride in their neutrality and forcing them to take sides in the war might risk incurring internal backlash, causing more problems for the government.. Besides, what IF ZAFT lost? How should Orb deal with the Alliance victors and inadvertedly their harsh surrender terms?

Honestly, Athrun went to zaft because he thought it was the right thing to do at the moment, which it was, when he realized what Durandal & Rey was up too, he almost got killed, of course he defected.

Orb is a neutral country, they dont take sides, thats why they didnt join up with Zaft or the EF/EA

Athrun didn't realize until after he was being hunted, his little go talk to Kira without informing anyone made it clear he wasn't trustworthy at all. His little "fight" with Kira even shook Lunamaria's fangirlism and pushed her away from him even though she was told to forget everything that she heard.

And ORB's neutrality has gotten tens of thousands killed and their country demolished twice in the span of a few years. It even got Cagalli branded a "fake" when she started advocating a stop to the fighting and allowed Yuna to take power since ORB was sick of all the neutrality BS and wanted to actually make a difference than watching both sides kill each other.

I'd rather put the blame on their aggressors and their lust for Orb's power. It's like saying a girl got raped has only herself to blame because she was too beautiful. And the plot didn't convey the point that Orb was sick of its neutrality. Rather the Seiran family usurped power, then turn Orb on ZAFT to appease a force they thought they couldn't fight and win against. The fact that Orb was able to repeal a ZAFT fleet composed of its best fighting forces (with some support of course) only contradicts their cowardly beliefs.

Besides, the second time Orb was attacked, it was because it took a side.

What did you expect? Orb was neutral yet has the power to make a difference yet continues to ignore both sides while telling them to behave. Any competent Leader would do their best to try and obtain the power that Orb has since it would give them a huge edge. It isn't just lust, it just makes sense that such power is better on your side than the enemies.

It's just plain dirty and Orb is too prideful in what they think is right while lecturing everyone else because they're wrong. It's like World politics for the USA, we get flak when we do nothing but stay neutral when we have the power to change things.... Only we tend to do it only if it benefits us for the most part.

they are a neutral country, they are a nation of both regular humans and coordinators, they want to live in peace. Joining either one of those sides would be going against everything their country stands for.

They don't attack people at all, they defend their nation and their population, nothing else.

Now, one can always debate how retarded the plot was in Destiny, but it doesnt change what the ORB nation stands for. Harmony between coordinators and naturals

Neutral countries don't mass produce weapons of mass destruction or help create the Gundams.

We aren't talking about just Destiny. ORB was stupid in SEED as well. They put their own ideals and foolish pride over what was best for their people. Had they allowed ZAFT to aid them many wouldn't have died and the Country wouldn't have had to burn. Obviously they would need to be wary of ZAFT trying to exert control but that wouldn't be an issue because it wouldn't be wise to piss off ORB while fighting the Feds on Earth and Space at the same time.

Keep in mind that the Gundams that ORB created were from rogue elements within the nation, primarly the Sahaku family, who is NOT the ruling family in ORB. And I don't recall ORB making any WMDs.

They had a nuke stashed in ORB to blow all their stuff up and had the 3rd largest military force in the world. Which says a lot since they were an independent country that had the power to fight the Feds and ZAFT toe to toe despite them being the collection of many peoples, countries, PLANTS, and ect. ORB knew that eventually the war would arrive at their footstep, they chose wrong and all the lives lost will always haunt Cagalli because of her father's stupid pride.

Ironic that the ones that were in charge of getting the Gundams to the Feds would go unpunished and steal power in ORB right under Cagalli's nose and they went unpunished for years and Cagalli was still expected to go through with the marriage her father arranged for her when she was still a baby.

So, Destined basically saying: It's wrong for somebody to do the right thing because the consequences won't be pretty . Seriously, if everybody think like this, the whole world will be just like Gotham in Batman Begins & TDK . Do you want to live in that kinda place? Being a neutral country in front of two large factions which goal is to exterminate each other is not a bad thing.

Btw, Yuna's ridiculous leadership is the result of ORB picking a side, not of ORB's ideals.
