Lingerie as a gift is best left in the "girlfriend-only" category.

Most people will be polite enough to not mention their incoming birthday during that time because they afraid it will look like they are asking for gift. It feel awesome thinking about it, but do not know how do she feel so i better not risk

Money she can buy what she really wants instead of returning your crappy cheap gift that you bought on the way to her party because you forgot or get her an all expenses paid spa treatment (only works if it is your mother or your girlfriend or wife....who actually spends that much on a friend?)

I like giving weird and suspicious presents, as, even if she won't like it, she would think it's a joke, and at least see, that you are original. Plushies, jewelery, bath stuff? Bah, only thing that would say more 'I didn't really know what to get you, don't know you, and didn't care about either of those things while choosing the gift' would be money, or those giftcards.
Some examples: A 10kg bag of popcorn, because she made the mistake of saying she'd LOVE to have one, while someone was taking one past us in cinema. 10kg of popcorn is about he size of a grown human, by the way, if not more. I knew the person liked the new Joker, so I got her a lot of suspiciously looking knives, some gasoline, duct tape and a box of matches. A huge '50cent' 'bling', to a person who repeatedly talked about he hated hip-hop culture. Niceness of the gift is of secondary importance, if it will be original, you will stand out, and it will be obvious you put some thought in it. |

lol at the guy above me
if it was for my girlfriend I would get her 2 gifts one would be a gift she chooses and the other one would be something that I chose on my own . Stuff that I would get for her could be material stuff like jewelry, fragrances, cellphone etc but it has to be something she could use everyday.other times instead of material stuff I would take her to some hot spots in the state I live in or out of state like one girl I dated back in 2010 after we graduated from high school her birthday was in 3 weeks and I really wanted to go on a vacation so I decided for her birthday we would go to las vegas but of course my parents helped me pay half since I rarely ask them for anything and they thought I really deserved it.

Disclaimer: I am not representative of all girls. Or probably even many girls. I am a special snowflake.
Stuff I like to receive as gifts: - high-end smartphones - computer stuff - audiophile-grade headphones and IEMs - electronics tools (soldering station, micro screwdrivers, magnifiers, oscilloscope, etc) - shit on my Steam wishlist - lolita fashion (hairbows, dresses, blouses, accessories, anything!) - clothing - socks/stockings/thigh-highs - handbags and purses - shoes - books - kitchenware (high-end knives, cookware, etc) - beer - Amazon gift cards

And I'm not really sure how to answer the question because every girl's a unique individual and all that, but thankfully this thread was posted four years ago so I'm pretty sure I don't have to answer. |
