I take it liberally to an extent that it'll be around 5-10 second at most (and that's already pushing), and remember human eyes is said to use 80% of total processing ability in terms of perception (the reason why challenged people has heightened senses such as hearing and touch), tweak it up and....

The Sword Bits, despite seemingly powerful has a weakness, the same weakness normal BITs has requiring a lot of control just to aim and move. Therefore, it can be maneuvered mid flight when only in conjunction with the OOA, while normally it' s just a glorified homing knife.

@zero: That's why "night" transfers the consciousness of the pilot to the bits momentarily. It completely frees the mind from normal human functions and leaves it to the IS AI to manage. All the processing power of a human mind is then channelled solely to controlling the bits :| Well that's the theory anyway. Daydream only glimpses into how the world is seen by the bits, the main purpose of Daydream is for high accuracy high precision aiming.

EDIT: The idea of the development of this one-off ability is derived from the BT units used by blue tears first shift. Noticing the poor performance of the bits(again I am a gundam kind of guy so I find the performance of the BT bits... underwhelming?), Blue Tears gained this ability to bridge the gap in human limitations at manipulating the bits to a finer degree.

Byakushiki only has one ability Reiraku Byakuya, which nullifies/destroys energy. But that ability extends into multiple applications. Every function of Setsura: energy dissipating claw, energy nullifying barrier/shield and the energy cannon that obliterates matter and negates energy at the same time(srsly!?!?), then we go back to the original Yukihira which doesn't really use absolute defense but uses Reiraku Byakuya's energy nulling abilities(ofcourse the Yukihira's output itself is different from Reiraku Byakuya so how damaging the attack and how much effectiveness of the shield varies as well).

That is how I understand Reiraku Byakuya, Byakushiki's one off ability.(which is probably going to be corrected by treme and tyranid)

Umm....

Last time I remember, it's just ordinary beam/heat/energy claw and highly powerful beam cannon, not even barrier void type. It was the shield that use "Reiryaku Byakuya"

And Yukihira use Barrier Void, which works on different principle.

But you're right, we should ask Box.

Ichika is currently most attracted to Chifuyu and Tatenashi(without either actively pursuing him). He likes Houki too but she's disqualified(because she made a move before he actually started to think of her as a woman.)
