Spoiler for YnS 08 - RELEASE THE KRAKEN!:

For being Nao's arc (and for certain it is, N3 was displayed), Sora had a prominent role this week, more than I expected. Finding that she saw Nao and Haruka doing it those many years ago was surprising, and, since that fact remains true in most timelines, explains a bit about her demeanor. Also, the first arc where a sex scene happens before the end of the arc is reached - though it was that way even before this week.

Motoka's story was highly amusing, once again. Taking lessons from Henriette a few shows over, the power of boobs is strong. The real highlight goes to Akira, though. It's not loose lips that sink ships - it's giant headed Akira.

Lots of drama and Sora getting angry.
Pretty much that's it? There wasn't really that much development, I guess. Sora finds out what the two are doing and get pissed off for the entire episode.
Which is good... Kind of. It's enjoyable just seeing her have a little tantrum like that.
I especially liked the part where she tapped the floor with her foot. Why just a tap and not a stomp, though... (assuming she is so mad)?

I got to say the high point of the episode was the middle.
IT WAS SO HILARIOUS!

His sister comes in while he is having sex with Nao, right? And her sister is clearly shocked. Nao is clearly shocked.
...And Haru? He turns around with that grin on his face and continues to shake his hips!
The great Ma-... that person has more brains than that.


A more random note, but the scene where Nao drops her chopsticks...
There is quite a bit of distance between her and Haru at that scene, yet he picks the chopsticks...?
So she waited for him to walk all the way to her to pick up the chopsticks for her...?

Angry Sora is so much fun to watch, especially when she scowls at Nao. It's made even more awesome when Motoka parodies Kenshiro at the end, since I could totally picture Sora telling Nao, "YOU'RE ALREADY DEAD."

Haru is the luckiest bastard in the world. Dude LOVED that delicious Nao buffet, hell, with a body like that, who wouldn't? Sora was probably more upset that it wasn't her getting pounded by Haru's unstoppable piston

Is Sora going to be the wet blanket that lands Nao into the friend zone? Or will this be the first omnibus anime to let the childhood friend win? (better get those parodies ready )

The whole fact that it's an omnibus means that there isn't one "real" ending per se. Just a lot of different ones which you can take as you will. That being said in the case they will pick one as the *canon* route all I can say is: it's usually chosen based on popularity and I can say that no way in hell has Nao been or ever will be more popular than Sora. All hail the twincest! Long live the twincest! Glory to th Well time will tell, the end is coming up.

I'm hating this pairing more and more, is it just me or was Haru just thinking with the wrong head the entire episode? I don't even feel like getting into details, the episode spoke for itself. Thankfully the Omake was adorable as usual to make up for it.

Grr... not liking Nao arc. It just has this unpleasant feel to it, that only goes away when Sora's on screen. I did like that the sex scene had the purpose of advancing the plot, instead of just being the standard 'reward' scene.

Unless something amazing happens next week it looks like I'm only importing the Akira and Sora BDs...

Whoa, great episode. I am really surprised with how much progress we got with one episode, again. They are doing a phenomenal job.

They could put a little more thought into the sex scenes though... she might have hit her head a couple of times there. And boy does Haru look stupid while he's doing it. Luckily Motoka saved the day, damn she is awesome, haha.

And does Sora's rabbit symbolize her loneliness? I just watched something and they compared a rabbit to being lonely, although I had never heard it before.

Rabbits are pretty territorial (heh) and also apparently (I quote) "some rabbits will only bond with one for life and once it dies the remaining rabbit will have nothing to do with new rabbits and will end up fighting with any other that goes near it." Which doesn't have much to do with being lonely but still. Or maybe we're taking the whole WMG thing too far

What an excellent show this is. Loved the music through the latter half of the episode. Thought the feelings of all concerned made a lot of sense.

I was hoping that Sora wouldn't walk in on them, but when she did they made it count by giving us that flashback to her seeing them the previous time. Another layer, more richness. The whole thing was rich, sharp, full.

And these ero-game seiyuu are doing such a good job. Sora (Taguchi Hiroko, who was Miyako in ef) is totally convincing, to me.

Nao's smile, lying there, was pretty wonderful. And Haru's inability to get out of his rhythm was perfect. Like he was in another world and didn't quite realize what was happening, at first.

Haru may be thinking with his other head, but he is also thinking with his heart. You can see he feels for Nao, as well as being attracted to her.

As this episode went on, I began to wonder if maybe we are not actually going to get the near-reset, but may see Sora drive Haru and Nao apart and take her place, in future episodes.

Sora was consistently ill and practically bedridden in a hospital or in their grandparents house (convenient that they were doctors) much throughout her childhood. She stated herself that their parents visited but not as often as she would have liked them to, Haru on the other hand was always there for her to the point that he would actually sleep by her bedside if she was asleep when he arrived.
When she was reflecting on the doll she held close she said that he bought it for her so that she wouldn't be lonely. While the rabbit obviously symbolizes loneliness to the reader/viewer, to Sora it represents Haru's love for her and how he will always be there for her (perhaps a promise of that as well).

I have a sneaky suspicion that in the next episode the doll is going to become damaged or worse somehow, either by accident or Sora destroying it out of frustration to symbolize the authenticity of the 'Nao good end'.

Also speaking of the doll, I thought it was cute how Sora had it with her tucked in her swimming tube at the beach in the omake.

I guess I'm in the minority here in liking Nao, and generally being annoyed with Sora. I know it's not her fault she is how show is, but she really does treat Haru like crap. He shops for her, he cooks for her, he generally makes himself her emotional punching bag. Is it any wonder he wants to get it on with every girl in school? He obviously cares for Nao and she for him, and there's a real sense that things are a lot more serious in this arc. I think that's why Sora's jealousy is so much more pronounced.

Of course, all of that is tempered by the fact that Nao basically raped Haru when he was about 12 years old - it's easy to forget that. And it does mitigate Sora's behavior a little, given that she witnessed the whole thing. It's no wonder she freaked pretty hard seeing them going at it again all these years later.

I'll say this for Haru - he's a pimp. Sora walks into the room and he just keeps on keepin' on.

You're not the only one with these sentiments as Sora, from my point of view, does come across as a spoiled child with some serious issues - some of which are quite scary. Her abnormally possessive behavior is...troubling. On the other hand, Haru and Nao appear to have a genuine relationship and actually care for one another. I'm certainly in support of them as a couple.
