When a metal object is broken, it must be melted down before it can be reforged anew. The same can apply to people. If you want Yozora to become a better character, you need to break her and build her back up.

from what is being written here what Yozora needs friends rather than a lover. and ı didn't understand Yozora's family history. Hinata is older than Yozora so her father had an affiar before Yozara was born. then when the divorce happened how old was Yozora ? some please explain that to me chronologically.

as long as Sena wins everything ok for me

Are fans even capable of changing their opinion? I thought people branded Yozora to be a bitch for all eternity. All I want for her to loose her snark and bitterness.

I'd guess that it depends on just how much she changes, and/or whether people believe that she really had a "good reason" for being so snarky/bitter/vindictive/whatever. Fans can definitely hold grudges for past sins, even if the characters in the story are willing to forgiven them (because they're aware of the hand of the author).

I'm not sure that I necessarily expect her to lose *all* her snark and bitterness, but at least hopefully she'll be able to temper it with some restraint and reasons for optimism. What the characters in this story need most isn't necessarily to change who they are, but just to respect others a bit more, and thus moderate their tone/behaviour.

Did you mean the possible scenario is
Scenario 1:
Hinata is born first by Mr. Hidaka (Yozora's father) and Hinata's mother.
Then, Yozora is born by Mr. Hidaka and Mrs. Mikazuki (Yozora's mother).
Mr. Hidaka Mrs. Mikazuki divorced after that.

Or, according to "sibling and same mother" theory on them,
Scenario 2:
Hinata is born first, then Yozora follows. Hinata's mom and Yozora's mom is the same person.
After that, Mr. Hidaka begin relationship with Mrs. Mikazuki's best friend that leads to the divorce of Yozora's mom.

I think the latter is more logically correct, by connecting this novel's summaries here one another.

My parents took split my brother and I when they split. I went with pop and my brother went with mom. We would spend the holidays together with my grandparents.

Since I'm new to the site, first of all greetings to all the people on here that share the passion I have for the piece of art that is Haganai and a big thank you in particular to those that keep me updated on things I would have to wait ages for to be translated into English.

Spoiler for opinion on events of Volume 9:

With all the spoilers regarding Volume 9 I've read so far I couldn't help but ask myself why the author chose to direct the story in the direction he did. As we know Hirasaka-san stated in the Afterword of Volume 1 that he himself "also had few friends, bad communication skills, negative thinking, lacking life experiences and useless delusional habits" and in addition in Volume 3 that he doesn't have "any memory of fun summer breaks at all" which suggests that he at least for a lengthy period of time had never considered changing the demeanor mentioned above. So basically Yozora represents the type of person he used to be. A fact that supports this hypothesis is the detailed depiction of a loner's thought pattern in form of Yozora's lines of dialogue which I due to personal experience can assure is quite accurate and most likely wouldn't be described in such a manner by a Riajuu, because it eludes them which is the sole reason that people without friends are stigmatized by society. In Volume 1 Kodaka thinks about said stigmatisation during his "first" encounter with Yozora and condemns it as wrong. Now however we are presented with a situation in which Sena who due to her already existing popularity amongst males comes closest within the Neighbour's Club to being a Riajuu despite being majorly flawed is put in a strong position in the fight for Kodaka's heart and Yozora is bestowed with a backstory that further intensifies the severity of her burdensome past. Taking the author's former social situation into account what message should one take from this situation in which the popular person becomes more popular whilst the loner becomes even more isolated? Is it a hidden hyperbole to display the cruelty of society towards loners? Who knows, but it seems at least more likely than it being an implication for every friendless person out there having major personal issues and as a result are required to undergo drastic changes.
Regardless though of this train of thought that has been going through my mind during a lengthy train ride on which I had nothing better to do I must say that my admiration for Yozora despite her breakdown has only grown during this volume based on the information the spoilers contained about her backstory. Think about it, a person marked by a past that could destroy even the strongest individual up until now has managed to realize continuous attempts of pursuing her dream to
re-establish a good relationship with her childhood friend, to be one of the school's best students, lead a club, etc.. She fights against all odds, yet manages to be an assertive personality. Comparing her to all other characters in the story almost makes them seem shallow. It somewhat reminds me of the time when Charlie Sheen was a subject of ridicule throughout the media due to his famous rants. I felt similarily inspired by him, because despite how wrong what he said might have been he fought for his opinion and beliefs even if it meant taking on the whole world. Yozora however unites aforesaid courage and wisdom and therefore holds a special place in my heart. Unfortunately if you take on the whole world by yourself you are bound to fall even if you're fighting with the right ideals in mind.
All in all I really hope the author can succeed in awakening this fascination with her character in other readers, too since it feels like her genius is overshadowed by the tropes associated with other Neighbour's Club members which we can also be seen in every other generic Harem story.
Don't get me wrong the other characters still are something special compared with those from other harems due to some of their unique character traits, e.g. Rika's ability to assess and give insights into the relationships between the club members, but said traits just don't seem to outweigh those typical reoccuring elements such as Kobato's Chuunibyou.

Well, that was quite a mouthful for an introduction. Feel free to write down any potential disagreement with this post on your side in response.

I understand the concept your trying to get here with how outcast people have it hard, and how the writer is pulling everything off perfectly for Yozora and shows how every bodies life is inefficient.

But that logic right their makes you just as blind as everybody else looking down on yozora, you said that popular people dont have problems that everything goes well for them?

Im part of that popular group in school, in which everybody loved me, played tons of sports (all starting positions) put on the prom court ex and I never had my life easy.

Their was a saying once that said the people that you think have it the best, actually went through the most shit. Dont be careless on how every other character is happy because we verily broke the ice in any of the other characters to (throw them aside) just because we seen Yozora's back story.

Again yes it was great how he did it, but seems to me your putting her up on a pedestal when she obviously shouldn't be right now.

And when you put examples of situations in a compare contrast consept their is tons of better examples then using (Charlie Sheen) he was a horrible example to society and kids everywhere.

Why not use someone that followed wat they believe in like (MLK, Rosa Parks, Abraham Lincoln) Probably better examples but cant think right now

Her segment playing the fighting game with Kobato - where she had the awareness to allowing a pause in between moves for Kobato to act out scenes of the show, is not something that would come naturally to a socially inept person. And to answer the question about Hinata above - she's Yozora's sibling by birth - but separated due to the divorce. Basically she stayed with the dad while Yozora stayed with the mom and changed her surname. The divorce happened sometime before Yozora met Kodaka.

Yozora's background story is probably the backdrop of the whole volume. Friendships and relations did pop up a little bit out of nowhere, but I guess it's the "chain reaction" that Kodaka expected. Starts off, well, with Kodaka answering Niku. He's attracted to her, but don't want to get serious...Niku should have kick Kodaka in his face and dump him by then... Yozora falling apart everywhere, but Yozora rebirth is coming sooner or later. Her family background and relation with Hinata is a little bit forced IMO, but then, you have to make up some story to continue writing a story. On the other hand, though, we all know who the imouto preferred between Yozora and Niku. Oh well, Rika is the true end anyway in my heart no matter what. Still the strongest chemistry, but she's clearly jealous that Kodaka is jumping more and more into being a Riajuu and of course, finally semi-officially starting his harem. Conclusion: Kodaka needs to die. Too bad Yozora is not in her yandere mode holding that kitchen knife. __________________
