I'm hoping that the DS remakes were just failed investments (meaning NoA localized it, but it didn't do well so they gave up on the second one) and they'll pick Fire Emblem back up again since this isn't a remake.
Maybe they'll even promote the new FE hero in whatever Smash Bros that will be coming for the WiiU. |

I haven't actually seen any numbers to know whether Shadow Dragon did well or not. Knowing NoA, it did amazingly well, but not exceedingly well, so they didn't bother with later installments. That seems to be their MO now. Sell millions of copies or it isn't worth our time.

Oh god, that video makes me want to play this game even more, it's like they took all the great aspects from all FE games of the past and improved upon them throwing it all into one delicious package.

After getting completely addicted to the Ambassador fire emblem game I shoved my pre-order down for this next month.
I have so many games to play, Kid Icarus still isn't here, got a few PSP games to play but I want this as soon as it comes out. |

Support convos? They're back? You mean like in FE 6/7/8??
All that I've been reading about is that this new FE will have Base Conversations...you know, like in PoR and RD....which is a big disappointment to me Quote:

Even though I really love how they improved the graphics, part of me is still going to miss FE's old 2D sprites and backgrounds that were so nice to look at
I don't understand Japanese, but from the video, it seems like there will be one class upgrade (two at most for select special characters, perhaps) but multiple paths that characters can take.

The normal class change has multiple paths (2, except for Mamkute), but there is a special class change item that allows units to change into any other class on the same level or even change back from second stage to first stage.

That's what I'm seeing, though Shadow Dragon's class change didn't require an item. One thing I'm wondering about is if a character would be limited to a certain set of classes for changing based on their initial class, like in FE11. FE12 unlocked switching to any class in following playthroughs.

more PV, this time on coupling or civil partnershipping.
There is also a second article on andriasang.com covering parts of the new parts of Iwata asks with the FE team/IS. It deals with how and why DLC was added late in development and other stuff. |
