Just wondering has anybody been following this series? Its a rather interesting and unique show, seems its finished airing now but the subs have only reached upto episode 4 so far.

I found it quite interesting though just from the first 4 odd episodes I watched, sure makes you think twice about the art world. Though its a very quirky and exaggerated series I found the overall atmosphere quite nice and some scenarios plain silly but fun and the characters quite likeable.

Ive seen some of the later episodes. Nothing happens. The series has no plot.

More likely to see a newly subbed episode of Keroro Gunso, Futago Hime and Sugar Sugar Rune than this one.

There was a thread about this a while back, but I'm too lazy to dig it up. In essence, the problem is apparently that all the technical art terms in the show make it very hard to translate.

Well thats probably what captures me about it though probably alienates equally much so is the attention to detail and technical bits.

There were thirty-seven episodes, by the way. The first episode certainly wasn't an episode that blows one away, and one could always drop the series immediately - meaning it really isn't that intriguing or inviting, but it wasn't bad at all.

It's not surprising why no one subbed it at all, however. But it seems the series is episodic and hasn't any direction. Can someone confirm this?

We have a few more eps in the works, but no guarantees when they'll be out... :\

That is L-E's motto, after all, "We're in it for the long haul". :X

Hahahaha ... but if you have all of the RAW, which I conveniently saw in a torrent somewhere, that wouldn't be a problem. I mean, if all the RAWs were gathered, only the subbing would have to take place. So it's okay.

Did you watch the whole series?

I can sorta confirm this. I was in Japan when it was finishing its run and saw like...
Spoiler:

The reason its not being subbed is easy: Most translators are not native Japanese and do not have a background in art vocabulary.

Well, that's not the case with the guy doing it for us, he's just lazy :X

Though we do have a few eps translated, it's just held up in typesetting.

That far and still no plot? No wonder no one subs this ... it is native in good works of art, be it literature, movies, or anime, that direction is present. The anime should always go somewhere. If it is not plot-driven, then hopefully it would be character-driven, as Watanabe's works (IMO) are.

Anyway, it's not really a borefest, so if someone does sub this, I don't see why I'd stop watching it. It's droll.

Well, I can agree with the veeeeeeeeeery sloooooooooooooowly part. But it isn't really of much worth anyway, so one can just move on to other things.

Oh, yeah, I forgot to mention.

It's also stalled because it sucks.
