Other than that, as others have said, Makoto got what he deserved. Perfect ending.

While you are right about the fetus likely being too early to be recognizable by plain sight, I just rewatched the scene, and she is shown falling over sideways after getting her her neck cut, this would mean that an "upwards" or "downards" looking cut like the one show would in fact be going across her midsection the way you say it should be.

Okay, after hearing alot of stuff about School days, I decided to watch it all in one sitting today and I really don't know what to say. lol Anyway, I've been thinking that Makoto slept w/ like 7 or 8 different girls right? So my question is, in the anime he didn't do that Kotonoha correct?

It's a good anime but I've been steering clear from it for 4 months and I finally was able to see it all. >.>

Yep, he never slept with Kotonoha (never had the chance...). And rather, he didn't sleep with just 7-8 girls, but probably everyone who's cellphone number he has, so like... 15-20+ girls... >_<

You have to wonder if they had boyfriends. If I found out my girlfriend had been doing some guy who banged nearly every girl in school I'd probably beat his ass before Sekai could even lay a hand on him.

15-20 girls?! Dang... I never did understood what they saw in that wimpy guy, Makoto.

If I had a girl like Kotonoha for a girlfriend, I would never done such a thing like him. And better yet, she was a really rich girl too. u.u

All in all, this series was gut-wrenchingly difficult to watch, but really well done in that sense. If you've got the stomach for it it's quite good.

So, seeing that the DVD episode was out, I was interested to see what we actually missed...

And honestly, I'm thoroughly disappointed. All they did was change the color of the blood back from black to red. If they got rid of some of the flashbacks, it really wasn't important. I think just one blood spurt from Makoto and I think a shot of the dark bag while Sekai was throwing up was all that was missing.
The only time the blood change made any real difference for me physiologically was when they were showing Kotonoha from the cut open Sekai. In the original it was a dark opening, here they were a little bit detailed with the bloody inside...

I'm not really impressed. There was no need to change the blood color and filter it like they did. It made no difference at all.

To me, I think that they also added some more sound effects. I don't really remember them from the tv version. When I saw the DVD version it really seemed as if Sekai killed Makoto DEAD. the sound effect added more.. well gore effect which i found quite pleasing, call me guro fans but i just love it when the stabbing sound plays out *stab stab stab* when sekai stab makoto over and over

but it is seriously disturbing when kotonoha slice up sekai stomach open.. the sound effect was... well EWW

WOW it seems like some people actually took time out to watch the DVD and reacted the same if not even more grossed out before. Glutton for punishment people i saw no redeeming qualities in this series at all. I know several people who are reading the manga good luck to them. For all of those who traumatized once again from School Days im truly sorry i feel your pain.

on another note i feel sorry for the first person to discover Sekai body on the roof the next day. OH GOD the sight must have been nasty neck all sliced up and her stomach just cut wide open im sure the birds got to her a little bit first too before her body was found. If could get my hands on the writers of this i swear i would spend 12 days and nights the length of the series just traumatizing them the way they did the fans, maybe some old reruns of Golden Girls

i dont see why people have react this way to SD, i really enjoyed it, i m guessing that most viewers didnt appreciate the fact that the author broke free from the platonic relation in a harem show.
makoto, as despitable as he might be isnt really to blame if i had as many girls throwing themselve at me in my teenhood when my hormones were dictating my behavior instead of my brain, i would have done the same thing as he did (and i m pretty sure we are all guilty of dbl dating, cheating or lusting for another girl/man while already in a relationship).
makoto behaved like any of us would have, of course we would have behaved in a lesser manner but the show had to put a lot of exageration on his attitude as well as on every other character, in order for the show to make his point as clear as possible.
in a way his behavior is "healthy" since teenage is a periode of time where you polish your personnality and this is done through an accumulation of various experiences be it wild sex like makoto, steady stable relation, sport, hobbies, studies etc etc.

i think that a lot hated SD cause they didnt like that the show presented them something that they always wanted to do during they school years, this kind of guilty desire that makes you question your own morality.

the moral of this show is : use condom, you wont be stuck with an annoying ex that claim you made her pregnant... Condoms they ll save your life!!!

PS : to enjoy the pie make sure it s still warm inside and that your parents arent home

On the topic of blood, this is what bothered me the most. It never went with the color scheme I was used to seeing in SD. When I first saw episode 12 (blackblood vers), I wasn't to mad about black blood, as it followed that scheme of beige, blacks, navy blues, and browns. Perhaps if the blood was a darker red, it would have looked more realistic, and more in scheme. Bright red blood just doesn't look real at all.

Despite the black blood looking awkward and all, I found the scene more gripping to watch without sound effects. I kinda wish they just left them out and let only the music play. Then again, I'm only interested in the scene for shock value (and not as one of the better plot twists of the show), so nya.

The ending is more like a cutesy trying to look morbid. :| Seriously, I feel like I was watching Teletubbies gut the crap out of each other. Or like watching southpark do a chainsaw massacre lol

I still say School Days is one of those harem shows you'll remember in ten years. And for that, nothing can top this.

Spoiler for ending/series plot: I just did a 100% Marathon of this show (a horrible, horrible idea) and after wanting to put my head through a wall watching Matoko be an unrepentant, evil, bastard to absolutely everyone, all the characters treating Kotonoha, the nicest girl in the show, like garbage, and everyone digging their own graves deeper and deeper, that was the best, most fantastically messed-up ending I have ever seen in an anime. Any other series and this would have been utterly horrifying, and well, it still sort of was, but I can't think of a more satisfyingly incredible way to end this series than with the poop hitting the paddles in such a glorious trainwreck. Makoto made me want to murder him myself after all the crap he pulled. The worst point was after he started cheating on Kotonoha with Sekai cuz Kotonoha wasn't putting out, not even bothering to break up with her and treating her like crap, the one time he shows any concern for her emotions is when he sees her with her shirt wet. Seeing everything go FUBAR for him was kinda nice. On the whole was she/wasn't she pregnant debate, I think at that point Kotonoha was insane enough that it could be interpereted either way, but I like the idea that she was lying about the pregnancy more. I think it just fits better with the theme of everyone being absolutely horrible to one another and Sekai's certainly no exception. Just look at Setsuna, put in a similar situation as Sekai, having to help her friend get together with a guy she likes herself, and Setsuna handled it in the most selfless way she could. She never seduced him with "practice". All in all, this series was gut-wrenchingly difficult to watch, but really well done in that sense. If you've got the stomach for it it's quite good.
