At least, can we all agree that high popularity doesn't mean high quality?
After that we will laugh at the ignorant masses for the rest of our lives. Fist of the north star above Rahxephon.........................

Ok I too think that GS and GSD should not be no.1. Maybe GS should be in top 10, but GSD should just limit itself to the top 100 as a more reasonable position.
I expected naruto to a bit higher but I guess the fillers are killing it... My no.1 would have been one piece, but being in the Top 5 is good enough I guess...

I think Seed/Destiny are both better than MSG, even though MSG is the one show in Universal Century that is actually good and worth the acclaim it gets.
The real travesty here is G Gundam not making the list. The final episode of G Gundam puts a lot of the other shows that actually made the list to shame real quick.

After all, I grew up with shows like Mazinkaiser, Giant Robo, Getter Robo, etc. - Tak (Technically, Evangelion would fall under Super Robo as well, though I like its so-called 'clone', Rahxephon, much, much more) Last edited by Tak; 2006-08-08 at 11:39. |

Everyone has something they just don't like. Back @ Tak: well my post #48 can be rendered obsolete now, #51 would be a more proper reply. I've always placed EVAs under real robots though.

I miss Macross. It was that one serie where the characters were believable. A series where you are without super-New Type/SEED aces and where every fight might be one's last.
Then they ruined it with Macross 7... *sigh* - Tak (I miss good, traditional, war dramas...) |

But Macross 7 was great on itself, it seems most people just can't relate to Basara. He made me cry listening to rock music. Actually the only anime series that ever made me cry was the Macross series. I cried to Ai Oboeteimasuka, it was the first time I ever cried watching an anime. I guess I'm just a music person.

I just did not appreciate the New Age stuff that Shouji Kawamori is known for these days (It works on other shows, like Eureka 7, but Macross had always been a classic anime war drama). Macross Plus was an awesome predeccessor, and I actually expected Macross 7 to 'stay on course', but it deviated from the original and became something else entirely. I also did not like the fact that Macross 7 completely downplayed the Zentradi. Macross was the de-facto war drama anime. It had believable characters, relationships and battles. No gimmicks, just people trying to operate the bloody business (that is war) with their fullest. Speaking of 愛 - おぼえていますか, it was one of the best anime movies I've ever seen. I, too, -cried- (the only other time I cried was when I played Xenosaga III). You feel geniune struggle in that movie. The duel between Max and Myria was one of the best mecha fights in history, one that truely displays skill (not gimmicks). - Tak (*Sniff*) |

Well, still Macross 7 is still regarded as the story that related to the first Macross the most.
Max vs Millia is definitely intense. Back at the poll: I was happy to see Top!2 on the list, but there's no Top!1? "Yurusanai! Zettai ni!"

Well that makes 4 Yu Yu Hakusho fans now.
Why did they add the results of GS & GSD together? They should have let both of them stand alone. Another thing that caught my eye was Gundam 0083 wasn't on the list; where are all the Gato fans?! |

Yu Yu Hakusho was a great anime series one of the first I ever watched seriously from beginning to end.
0080 didn't seem to make it either and I am a fan of both 0080 and 0083 it's kind of odd that they did not make the list at all. |
