Okay so Story mode darkness zone doesn't have drop-in co-op, but strike missions do, and since the latter has all the cool toys there's no reason to do story missions after once.

It's kinda weird that they segmented the story missions from the strike missions and the exploration. I thought it would be like a traditional open world at least for a single large zone.

I wish there was a way to advertise fireteams at the tower, in case you want people to come along with you to some mission.

You know, I really think they should keep the zone as one big open world to run from one quest to another instead of instancing them off. I get that they want to make it replayable but since these missions essentially involve you doing the same thing just with different groups of enemies they could just leave them in with the open world... Like they already are doing with the Exploration mode.

The way they separate the story missions and having to load up the entire map again kinda breaks the flow of it. Ideally they could just make them fast travel zones instead.

(Also, the loots are better in Strike missions anyway so no reason to farm them.)

P.S - Could use some friendly NPCs in the wild as well...

Seamlessness is a big issue with the game right now. From the long loading times to the instancing, need to go to orbit to actively engage in stuff, etc... It feels way too compartmentalised.

If they didnt have the instancing the game would be taxing on your PS4 constantly

Yeah, it's quite tedious going back and forth with how long the loading takes and how many loading screens you have to pass in such a short time. They should structure the quests a bit better, similar to the Strike and Cosmodrome Exploration mission and then have you go back to the Tower after completing some.

I had no idea the beta would be for the older consoles, too. Might as well download the ps3 version and kill some time for the summer.

I'm bummed that it's ended. It was a fun ride. I'd like to pick it up when it's out, but I have no idea if I'll have a job by then. If not, I definitely won't be able to afford it.

I think you should wait a month or two to see they iron out all the issue of the game first. Their server doesn't look like it's stable enough, and judging from the past experience (that Diablo 3 launch period), I'm not exciting to jump in at launch.

I really do hope it's as tough as they're making it sound. One of the greatest video game experiences I've ever had was spending countless hours with my good friends taking on Halo 3 Legendary campaign challenges and the like.

If it's anything like MMO Raiding, then yeah you'll get a ton of very unique experiences.

At the very least the bosses would be more interesting than your standard FPS bosses.

Did you not play the story mission on The Moon where you get to use it in a battle against 3 Hive Princes?

It's only for that battle though. It disappears afterwards.
