He protects two people, Yukino and Ren, and it's the same for every story. All the other characters all have their parts to play.

I played School Days without a walkthrough and no idea what the choices said and somehow I was lucky enough to hit one of those famous bad endings.

It was back then famous for being almost totally animated (the game I mean) and I wanted to see what it was all about, but the H-scenes were pretty meh. Happiness (the one with that trap Jun and all) is a static game and had much more spectacular H-scenes.

But for PS3..
Really, I'm not a money tree (costs 600€ here). I think they should bring such games still on PS2.
Moreover PS3 is far to overpowered for such games.

It's an interesting concept though. And to be honest, it takes a large company the size of Leaf/Aquaplus to be able to venture into the PS3 game business, so I wouldn't expect this to become the norm anytime soon.

Although its true that PS3 may be overkill for your everyday ADV games, games that feature a significant amount of gameplay involving complex graphics (such as Tears of Tiara here) could benefit from the upgrade in system power. On top of that, the increased data space and graphic power means everything can be run at a higher resolution, meaning all visuals will look finer and more polished. For those people with HDTVs, the increase in visual quality is probably even more noticable.

And if the game is completely remade to feature more contents, then I say why not. It certainly beats seeings the same ol' re-releases or ports.

... Not that I own a PS3 or anything. ^^;

Aquaplus is definitely out to crack the consumer games market. Recently, we've seen a greater reliance on RPG-style gameplay, as well as an emphasis on one or two lavish projects at a time. I guess it was bound to happen once Shimokawa hired Yusuke Hirata (previously the guy in charge of Square's Osaka office) to manage the company's business strategy.

That said, the PS3 is a huge risk given the small userbase. It'll be interesting to see how things pan out.

Wasn't it was said in an interview with the people from Aquaplus that they want to open up to a larger market compared to what they have previously? They might want to change from a company dealing with only visual novels and the like to a full-fledged game publisher of sorts.
