"A Song of Ice and Fire" is literally translated as 氷と炎の歌. Four books of the novel have already had their Japanese versions: http://www.hayakawa-online.co.jp/SOIAF/book.html Some images Spoiler for size:

Since it's the 9th episode of the season, which most of the seasons 9th episodes being Wham Episodes, HBO must be having the viewers to prepare themselves over whatever happens in that episode.

Holy f*ck!!! That was... I like, can't go to sleep now otherwise I'll have bad dreams.
EDIT: This is going to leave me in shock for a while. Good thing they did that. Didn't sour it or anything unlike many anime series, lol.

It was kind of given away before the season even began when Richard Madden inadvertenly revealed that he would leave after season 3. Also the red wedding occurs about half way through the third book, so it has to happen this season.
That being said, great episode. Allmost exactly how I imagined it would be. The sacking of that city with Dany was a little too simplistic, but otherwise everything else was damn good. And of course the finale was near perfect in its bloody brilliance. I've forgotten, but was Arya really at the wedding? 92/100. |

The episode everyone who's read the books has been waiting for. Oh my god. We had a small viewing party at our place for this one, and for some reason I found the entire thing hilarious (attributed primarily to my friend's reactions), as I was the only one who knew what was coming. It's been years since I've read the books ('cept the last one), so now I'm straining to think of the next "big" scene that could possibly rival this to wait for in the tv series. Edit: That's rhetorical, btw. No need to spoil.

I always expected Robb's wife to die, she was just a lame character used as a plot device to screw over Robb. She was also tripping death flags in every episode. From the looks of things Edmure probably got a dagger in the throat as well, before he could enjoy his bedding ceremony. I did expect Robb and Cat to stay around longer, they were kind of carrying the plot before...

I don't think she reaches all the way.. Also If I remember correctly I'm pretty the hound realizes whats going on at the bridge before they enter in the books. Will have to take a look again.
To those who are extremely shocked, look back, the clues are all there. Tywin says it himself, in one of his best lines; " Some wars are won with swords, others with quills. " (Too bad they don't talk about how Tywin goes about the sack of Kings Landing with the Mad King, but now T.V viewers know why he's the most badass and powerful person in Westeros) Afterall, this isn't the first big house that the Lannisters have obliterated. Also loving the absolutely frosty Roose Bolton. Think about it, why on earth would he let Jamie go free? Starting to see some serious deviations from the book now, in another sub-plot though. TRW was pretty spot on. Interesting to see how they'll be resolved. Quote:
