If Mashima plans to do time travel, I hope it will be handled good.
If it is actual time skip, then I want an explanation to such long time of absence and nice look changes, not something lazy like in Bleach.

Claymore didn't have any real look changes but it weren't really needed there. It is not that sort of manga.

Some people were speaking about a 7/9 years timeskip since the end of chapter 234

Because on the last page of this chapter, with a good raw, it was possible to see a x791 (some were seeing a x793) on the newspaper

I think the guild actually survived the loss of its most powerful members because they were also the most troublesome and caused the destruction of property that Fairy Tail is famous for. Without them, the council wouldn't bother with the now quieter guild.

To be fair...the Bleach timeskip was a year and a half...people don't change much in that time, specially people, that live fore hundreds of years.

People are instantly assuming that if it IS a normal timeskip then the main characters have been missing for 7 years...but what if they haven't? What if they came back some time later and are currently in the guild? Just because 7 years have passed, it doesn't mean they have to be missing during that time.
Hell who knows, Natsu could be on a 10 year long mission or something.

Then again I still think this will probably be a time travel thing rather than a timeskip.

I know that you can't change much in year and half but I still hoped for something more... but then again whole FB arc is boring so that might be the main reason for my dissapointment.

I think author clearly said that none of them was ever found after dragon attack and now 7 years had passed since that accident.

We will probably see the whole island appear out of no where in the next chapter lol. Time skip and time travel? Who knows.

However, one thing is interesting about the last page. It seems like everything is in order and normal. Is that mean that Zeref did not destroy the world?

No, the author says that no survivors were found during that half year investigation.
Doesn't mean they couldn't have showed up at the guild after that.

(Mind you I do not want this to happen, I'm merely stating a theory none has posted yet)

Doubt that would happen it's pretty crappy. And I mean that as material to work with, not from our perspective. If they just show up at the guild you totally screw all the wonderful side stories you could have done otherwise.

Note that we have to take into account a timeskip of it.

I Agree that does look a lot like Romeo, and frankly if we are to get a time skip then i think its actually something of a nice touch for Mashima to bring back a minor character like that instead of just making someone completely new.

Though granted as usually there is something of a bit of lack of build up as commonly seen in this series. Namely I would enjoy it a whole lot more if Romeo had popped up more often in previous arcs; he doesn't have to do anything actually too important, but just give him enough presence for him to be recognizable or for us to actually develop a bit of affection for his character... then its all the more enjoyable when, post time skip, he upgrades to main character... Also I would have appropriated seeing more fairy tail kids running around just so they could grow up and make up the supporting cast...

Well one thing is for sure...I now know why the anime isn't afraid to get so close to the manga. It is literally entering the same arc that's ending which usually means it's getting to close to the manga. But if this is a regular 7 year timeskip then that leaves tones of opportunities for a nice long filler arc or two to gain distance from the manga.

Lucy is 17 so her chest shouldn't be that much bigger as a 24 year old...then again this IS Mashima...

I'm actually expecting something like that myself. They were doing funky magic, and if they only teleported somewhere on the world there is no reason they would wait seven years before returning to Fairy Tail.

Except if (and this is speculation time here) wing-ear teleported them somewhere to train, or they got teleported to Edolas, or something.
