so ive read the first 2 volumes and are now up to v3 ch3 and i noticed that after the yoshino volume she gets little to no time with shidou afterwards even though she likes him...does this change later? does she actually start to fight over him like tohka and origami?

btw the anime cant end at volume 3 can it? because v3 leads into v4 right?

On the anime, Yeah.
It is because of that many fans fear there may be an anime original ending !

What makes me afraid even more is, if the studio choose to go ahead and cram the materials of 4 vols into 1-cour show.

I don't think yoshino will ever take an active role in the fight for shidou. she seems to just help and encourage him from behind. she also seems to be the most mature person in the whole cast (moreso than reine, lol!)

BTW, can someone explain to me about the "terrritory" thing that spirits and ast members possess? Is it some kind of force field? Magic barrier? or anything else? somehow the LN doesn't give any detailed explanations and makes me kinda confused.

It's the "area they can control". Literally, they can rewrite the laws of reality inside that space, which is how humans can move at supersonic speeds and carry giant missile launchers and Gatling cannons. And when a spirit is pushed to the point of using it, the fight is pretty much over. Remember what Tohka did to the AST when she though Shidou died? After she switched on her territory, they literally could not touch her while she ran around slicing mountains in two.

Not really. Tohka is a high-level spirit and Mana is human. Mana using her territory was able to stop Origami cold at a distance of maybe a foot. Tohka was able to throw Origami around like a rag-doll. The way I read it, the only reason Origami survived was that Tohka was so strong she couldn't direct all that strength at someone like Origami.
