You haven't been spending a life time on something and then have someone completely step on that out of nowhere to put it down. To not recognize this is in itself ridiculous. I actually sympathize with the hostility, regardless of how misled it is.

So you are saying it is normal/alright/acceptable for those students, especially Elite Ten to have such a hostility against Souma?

well he did just take what they used their whole life to build up forgetting their own childhood and life in general, then break it either in half or smash a chunk off. Worse still as they have never had that happen before because they worked so hard to keep it from happening.

Yeah ok, let's just ignore the stupid blue guy eh.

There are only two characters out of the "Elite ten" that shows hostility towards Soma, and they both do so on a personal level.
Erina disliked him from the start for his "insolence", and the new guy just got his business ruined which he clearly blames it on Soma. Not to mention, when he offered Soma to be his underling, the reasoning he rejected it is based on something he seem to despise (not seeing the bigger picture, etc).
I mean he clearly even said those reasons in this very chapter. Like in words. Printed.

Both of them have personal reasons to be hostile to Soma.

This is why I try to said. Hating/Dislike Souma is somewhat acceptable, but to the point to crush him or make him get expelled is just simply unhealthy.

Sure that there are only 2 of Elite Ten hate him, but it isn't far-fetched to think that 9 of Elite Ten will hate/despise Souma in the future.

But this isn't a normal school. It's a super elite school where less than 10% of the students graduate and must be pretty normal for the student to conspire with another student to get Soma expelled.

This chapter was great. Some new characters introduced including the yandere stalker. I'd like to see what would happen to the stalker if she learns that Erina has interest in Souma.

The cinnamon sniffing guy looks like he's related to Nikumi. It takes him a while but finally Souma's old man shows up.

Shokugeki in general reminds me a lot of Yakitate!! Japan (which I loved before it became retarded and boring in the final arc), but that might be because I haven't read a lot of cooking manga.

Shokugeki took the reaction thingie a little less over the top than yakitate. I mean, you don't see any character in the story died and went to heaven temporarily from eating the food
