Side note - Does this work well when the situations stressful or dangerous? Not sign language, just thinkgs like pointing or gesturing.

I just realized a problem: Ichika's japanese and has little to no english speaking. Meanwhile, Joshua's a primary english speaker. That's gonna make defusing a bomb chaotic as all hell. Most of it will be them gesturing to one another.

Side note - Just took Judo training. I fail at rolling forward

I think the tech in IS has progress to the point they have advance version portable translator. it superficial since most foreigners in anime ( be it Chinese, Korean , European, American etc ) can speak Japanese

Well, having an OC with dark past isn't bad (most of My OC are), just that IF someone of us can make a character interesting without Dark past.... that would be a refreshing change.

Probably, well, I don't bother lampshading that because that's universal fictional trope. Also, Ichika is less dumb anyway, he CAN spoke English well (broken pronunciation but otherwise decent grammar XD) in Sacred Twins.

Side note - Well you can decide how deep you dig, but the further you dig, the further you deviate from canon. Mine already breaks, twist and fold the canon to the point it wasn't recognizable, and I haven't SHOWN the change as a whole, just a sneak peek.
