Yes he got some of his strength back, but was it everything he had before? I seriously doubt it.

I... what? Urahara had a way to stop Hollowfication, pretty sure before he had ever even seen it, and had the Quincy Juice™ required to do it when Shinji and his pals got Hollowraped by Aizen? And they didn't require any sort of companion to actively suppress the Hollow. If he's doing something different to Masaki why even mention Shinji and his pals? Oh yeah, Kubo.

Isshin losing his powers via FGT, not so much, but there's still probably a chapter or two left in this flashback, so who knows? Quote:
The possibility I find more intriguing would be if somehow Ichigo were the reason she's not dead... |

Loved it. Damn it's been a long time since I've said that about a chapter. All around though this was aces. It's cool to see how much like his Dad Ichigo actually is. That scene at the end reminded me of his big Rukia rescue in the SS arc. Atta boy, Isshin!

also, in FKT arc, he was heads and shoulders above the other captains in skill. only urahara and yama-jii were comparable. why is that? he was only squad 10 captain after all. why could he hold his own for a while when captains like shunsui and ukitake could not? he also had new knowledge about the precipice world and a crazy amount of stamina to hold the walls from closing while ichigo trained. that wasn't normal captain-level stuff. like flicking aizen through buildings for instance. i don't see the current squad 10 captain doing anything remotely like that, but i could see RG members doing similar stuff in the future you mean like 'Next hollow: shinigami's been a power with ichigo this whole time'? |

I think it is more shinigami/hollow and human/quincies. Shinigami are all about interilizeing thier powers where as hollows are about externalizeing them. Quincies are all about useing external sources of power where as humans like the Don use internal based powers. so the opposite of a quincy hollow is a human Shinigami.

All of this argument is fairly moot, though, until we see the end of this arc, and how Isshin is explained out of his captaincy. It may very well be that Kubo manages to come up with an explanation for his disappearance that covers all of your misgivings (hopefully without becoming too Deus ex Machina-ish). If not, I'm sure we'll be revisiting it, and I might be more on your side then. Quote:
Knowing what we learned this week, you could also argue that it's a similar principle to what gave Uryuu phenomenal cosmic power after he took off that Sanrei glove. After years without expending any spiritual power while in human guise, Isshin's tank would have certainly been full. Moreso if he and Urahara managed to find some way for him to train while in that human soul gigai of his. Which brings me to a different question. Urahara just calmly drops the knowledge that he's created this thing out of a human soul, yet no one seems to have a problem with it. Reminds me of that Venture Bros episode where we find out that some Dr. Venture invention gone wrong of the week is powered by the soul of a little boy, and he's like "What's the big deal?" |

So... is it time for me to get out of the [plot] hole and start actually reading Bleach again??
last time I saw an actual chapter was... hmmm Bat!Ulquiorra being turned to dust... 0___0 I've been relying on you guys all this time (fear not! I can catch up in one or two days =D the only thing that is keeping me from doing so is Kubo's BS)
