I have an idea of what was said in that scene. I'm a little confused about why Nami would want to keep Luffy from hearing it. Considering it was a message for them all. It even seems to have even more meaning when you remember that this story was written by Oda.

Though, I still question the level of canon of this movie's story. I say that, because I don't see the events of this movie ever influencing events in the manga story. Though this does have a connection to the canon since Sengoku made mention of the Shiki.

I've read that Oda intended to include it in the manga but couldn't, but then I don't know how true that is.

That's true. I remember reading that the whole story of Daddy the Father from Lougetown. Oda wanted to have that in the manga, but was pressured to move the story along. Even that one filler episode with the circular rainbow was sort of seen in the manga. The rainbow at least.

That's the interesting thing about One Piece. Sometimes the fillers almost seem like things Oda wanted to do, but couldn't.

It's just the way I have read about that final scene in the movie. It was sort of odd that Nami would get all flustered about Luffy hearing that. Seems almost Kagome-esque (Inuyasha).

It seems unlikely though that Oda wanted this movie's story in the manga when you consider it intended the crew trying to leave the Grand Line. Not to mention that weird island where everyone just happens to be from the East Blue.

Hmm, now i am confused.. I watch jes now one very short only. Mostly bout Shiki time. Not about Nami being captured by Shiki. The capture part only show in front only then change to 3 years ago.. About Roger being executed, Shiki faught with garp and sengoku, being capture in impel down then escape and with Dr. Indigo having a 20 years plan.

Not bout Nami being captured by Shiki. Seems like i am actually watching intro?

No, you watced One Piece episode 0, while it is promoting Strong World movie it is actually a canon and part of One Piece storyline.

It was not a intro to Strong World but it explains past events from 20 years ago including Shiki and his plans that are done at Strong World movie.

Apparently they're adding new scenes for the dvd/blu ray release.

Guys, it was really good.

If you are going to buy one OP movie, it should be this one. Having to import instead of just getting it from the store is going to hurt a bit, but its worth it I think.

Wait it's on DVD now? I thought that wasn't until mid-August?

Or is that just the special edition with new scenes being released then?

Yeah the release for the DVD and BR is still late August, so i'm guessing mageormike went to see the film at the cinemas? Not 100% sure.

^^^^
Sorry for the confusion. Yes, I saw it with a friend in Japanese theatres last December. And it was really fun. Probably the best movie of the series thus far (even better than Movie 6 I thought). Not quite cannon, but pretty dang close that you could squeeze it in somewhere if you really tried.

Having to import the dvd when it comes out next month is going to suck a bit, but that`s what I get for leaving Japan this month ^_^;;

I'm sure it was quite a treat to go see this film on the big screen. Great to hear you really enjoyed it, as i'm still counting down the days until the BR release. Seriously can't wait.
