The reason why this trend has "appeared" is because in episode 7 (which is available in the dvd release) has a scene where it is misleading because of the angle you see the scene.

On one side its. "mmm cake" and on the other "cool Horo". So just a nice thing overall. Would love to have something like that for a birthday that's for sure.
