While I'd like to see a Shin Sangoku Musou anime one day, it's arguably more difficult to make. With RoTK You can't just chose one point of the story and start it. You'll have to start from the beginning and there isn't really good stopping point for a 12 episodes. The first good stopping point is Lu Bu's death and 12 episodes is not nearly enought for that.

Anyway, about Sengoku Musou anime: I saw some people wondering onet he other sites (though the right word b*thcing, I guess?) about the lack of certain characters, so I want to say: it's not a final cast. There's still will be more characters, like Date Masamune (because you can't have Masamune without Kanetsugu, unless you're in Sengoku Basara), Hojo Ujiyasu (confirmed by synopsis) and some others.

I mostly agree about Sangoku Musou, though I'd argue that it wouldn't really be impossible for them to start around Cao Cao's rise to power and leave the Yellow Scarves and Dong Zhuo behind (while of course making mention of them). It would be far from ideal, but it wouldn't be impossible either.

You mean Mitsunari without Kanetsugu. Dat manly friendship. Although I'd pay for someone finally adapting my favorite Kanetsugu anecdote about him snubbing Masamune and then being all snarky about it... (OK, them being all HRRR GRRRRR at each other like they are in Musou is also fun.)

So, still no Nobunaga? No Kenshin/Takeda? Interesting. I'm guessing this will be mostly focused on the late Toyotomi reign and the events leading to Sekigahara. So a direct challenge to Judge End. Kinda makes me sad that it'll probably be better, lol

It was already confirmed that it will be about Sanada bros and Sekigahara.

Toyotomi Hideyoshi is on the verge of unifying the realm, and all that remains is the Odawara Castle protected by the "Lion of Sagami" Ujiyasu Houjou. Hideyoshi's personally trained generals — Ishida Mitsunari, Katou Kiyomasa, and Fukushima Masanori — as well as Ootani Yoshitsugu, Shima Sakon, and Naoe Kanetsugu are all on the frontline of the battle. Amidst the battle formation are the two young warriors of the Sanada household: older brother Nobuyuki and younger brother Yukimura. As the stalemate begins to break down, Sanada Yukimura rides on a lone horse into the fray. His brother follows him right after.

Well, since they are main characters, it was obvious that Yukimura and Nobuyuki will have songs, but rather then having another songs for Mitsunari and Yoshitsugu, I'd prefer to have songs for some other characters, who don't have a CS in the game series yet, like Kunoichi and Ina. Or Ieyasu (we need more singing Nakata).

Anime that takes place during Warring States is common (though not as numerous as a typical CGDCT series), but such series with genderbended cast is less common than some people think.

Samurai Warriors just looks like our typical action story sets in Warring States Period that almost follow the real-life history in an accurate way characters-wise. I haven't played the game and I have watched very little of its gameplay back then, but to its benefits, I like the theme itself as a whole and I'll enjoy it even though I'm a little too familiar with most of the real-life figures during that period.
