"Even to the end, even in death..." This made the Numbers bolt upwards, listening attentively but without belief. "Semper fidelis...as they say", the masked figure uttered, in a voice that was bordering on sounding melancholy. He shook his head. "Alas...I am a gardener...and it is my duty to defoliate this tree of malice that I witness before me..." His words a soft, deadly whisper, he glared at the redhead.

"That aside, it's...irritating that your loyalties still bind you." He tittered, menacingly, then stated warningly: "For if you knew better and had a proper mindset inside yourself, my dear," he said, directing his speech at Nove. "Then you would have had the knowledge, set in stone...

To STAY OUT OF MY WAY!"

In an outburst of energy, blood-red in color, the Numbers were sent further backwards along the hall. V surged forward, yelling a cry of rage, and not even caring for the soldiers that vainly attempted to obstruct his path as he cut them in twain like a cleaver through meat.

Rocketing towards the red-haired cyborg, another pair of guards assaulted him with projectiles of light- despite the speed at which the enraged attacker was progressing, he still managed to fish out a pair of knives from beneath that darkness of his cloak, and hurl them at the resolute defenders. The first spiraled, cutting through the air and slicing across the guard's throat, extinguishing his life in a split second. The second embedded itself in the other man's neck, red liquid flowing out freshly from the wound as the corpse collapsed, devoid of movement.

V turned his head back to Nove, just in time to notice that the girl was launching another salvo of spherical objects from around her gauntlet. He didn't bother to raise a shield as some cut into him, leaving new injuries behind. Charging on through the storm, he shifted Fawkes over to his left hand and swung his right fist back just after Nove prepared a strike.

The fists met, one gloved, one gauntleted, and it seemed that there was an equal distribution of power in both blows. The combatants broke off, and Nove aimed to swipe again, but V struck first, his arm streaking forward with practically inhuman agility. Once more, he struck the Number's gauntlet-covered fist, but with purpose. Strengthening his attack, V's fist forced her arm back until it ultimately snapped inwards, flopping afterwards limply.

Nove screamed in pain, and looked down at her once operational arm, now sparking uselessly at the elbow joint. She had distracted herself long enough for the masked assailant to fist her in the gut, knocking the wind out of her, then grab her throat like a vice and slam her into a wall. During this scuffle, V had switched Fawkes back to his right hand.

The remaining soldiers shook in terror and fled soon after, enthralled and in fear of this man's power, this infuriated killing machine. Tre and Cinque could only watch on in horror and desperation.

"You've been a pain to me, haven't you, little pretty?", he sneered, darkly. "Well, there comes a time where all must be put in their place." He raised the jet-black spear, and, without remorse, thrust it forward.

Nove felt her breath catch in her throat as the weapon pierced her torso. She lowered her head weakly to look at her nemesis, and the man noticed something else other than shock in her eyes.

(Pleading...?)

"Fawkes."

That was what came forth coldly from the black-clothed one. His device responded instantly, and ejected a quartet of cartridges.

"...November 5th."

At once, an ominous dark red glow surrounded the spear's end, and a beam of condensed magic power was sent outwards from it. Fawkes released two more cartridges to increase the potency of the attack. Nove's expression of fright was the last V saw of her as an explosion culminated, the blast being so powerful that it pierced through the side of the vessel to the complete surprise of all outside, Hayate included.


Somewhere elsewhere, I felt a dagger penetrate his mind. G glanced at him, concernedly.

"What is it?", he inquired.

I, at first, couldn't muster up the power to speak. When he did, his voice was a hollow, shaking murmur.

"Nove...

Nove is...!"


The deed was done.

V lowered his spear, and quarter-turned to the duo of Numbers before him. Both of them couldn't believe their eyes, and Cinque was left almost wordless.

"N...Nove...sou na..." The eye-patched girl's voice was a meek whisper, and her tone rose in fury and sorrow.

"Nove...Nove...

NOVE!"

V watched mirthlessly as she sobbed weakly, tears forming in her one eye, and watched as, still wracked by loss, she stood, bearing a set of knives and leering at V vengefully.

V readied a stance. "Now you have something else to fight for...revenge. Just like me."

He raised his head.

"Let's begin in earnest, shall we...my adversaries?"

Till today, many friends call me crazy for playing such a... specialized deck, since I want all the cool-looking magicians inside + 3 Black Magicians. (( I have ALL the Black Magician-related family cards ))

They’ve been active for some thing like 10 years but have already taken out at least 2 solar systems (well one and 5/6ths anyway… the second one wasn’t exactly on purposes either.) and at least one planet to boot off the top of my head. Oct, Nove and Diesse are very immature and, like August, always seem to be having fun. They think that their morbid job is a game, and are fixated on childish concerns. Diesse has a habit of sleeping on the job.

The order to investigate multiple dimensional distortions ended her up in the middle of the human/beastmen conflict of Gurren Laggan. When she went home at the end of the war, she didn't know that she would be returning seven years later, as the dimensional distortions (then discovered to be caused by the Anti-Spirals) increased.

Granted, this is mainly used as an excuse to use Keroko in other settings, but the potential and the fun is too much to ignore.

I have an even "greater" idea that is concurrent with my works until now, ever since i first typed the first words on my first fanfic.

"What started as an arrangement to learn under Clow Reed when he was still lliving turned into the greatest struggle since the beginning of the current multiverse.'

- it basically involves another character- for real H4XX reasons i will never truly reveal- just in flashbacks *HE WILL WRECK EVERY OC CREATED IF HE EVER GOES BACK TO THE SCENE WITH SHEER HAXX THAT SKYFALL WILL SEE THIS - SO DON'T EVEN ASK*
that travels to different times and places- discovering things and such- then came Andrei and he sees him as a worthy successor of this wealth of knowledge and as the saying goes, the rest is history.

- TRC is the basic background, enemies and dimensional conundrum
- CCS is one major arc
- Mai Otome is included in FileS
- and many others- *digging thru mental backlog*

Background

Lance was a Velkan Knight around one or two hundred years ago. He has being in the service of the Holy Emperor for nearly two decades already, defending his the borders of his beloved kingdom with his life. He has seen through several battles and had always protect the helpless without any hesitation.

He believed wholeheartedly in Justice and the honor of the Knights. He has a wife and a family, as well as many friends, and he was even scheduled to be promoted to a Commander post.

Unfortunately, that's when the happy story ends. On the day he was supposed to return home to his family, the military base he was stationed to came under siege by unknown forces. Many of his fellow Knights fell quickly under the invaders unstoppable advance.

Lance made several requests to the Command Center for reinforcement, but they never came. Instead, the Royal Air force launched an all out bombing run with the intention of destroying the base to take out the enemy, and anyone else still in it.

Lance was left to survive and defeat the enemy all on his own. Despite his admirable efforts, he was not a match to the enemy commander and was propmtly defeated and left to die.

But fate would not let it end there as well. One of the bombs exploded near them and caused the ground to collapse, taking him down with it. As it turns out, the base was built right on top of an ancient site were the first experiment with 'living' programmes and artificial intelligences were carried out. The details are still uncleared, but somehow right before he died, Lance's consciousness was somehow fused with one of the free crystals in the area.

Unfortunately, the site was abandon because the AIs had taken over the entire system and have all gone 'insane' over time. These AIs probe and twist Lance's memories, logic and reasoning. They fueled his hatred for all the wrongs that were or weren't done to him.

Hundreds of years later, the Destroyer of Dreams was task with the mission of retrieving any lost Logia information that may be found in the very site where the former Knight had lose his life.

After destroying most of the AIs' defensive programs, Jeno made his way towards the main super computer and was confronted by Lance... Or at least the software with his memories. Intrigue by him, Jeno wanted to recuit him, believing that he would serve well as a Destroyer.

But Lance was too driven by his hatred and soon he started modifying the combat programs to counter Jeno's spells. In the midst of the chaos, Jeno's Lightning attacks somehow misfired and scrambled Lance's programming. Part of it snapped him out of his insanity, while most of the damage had corrupted his memories files and alter his behaviour patterns.

The combination of the two is the main reason for his attraction to... Very Vengeful women as it's was both a female who had killed him, and his 'hate' folder was reprogrammed to the wrong response files

After a bit of talking, Lance agreed to join Jeno. But before that, he would need a weapon. Lance hacked into the mainframe of the system and located the most dangerous AI of this entire facility. It was the memories of an ancient Black dragon king - The Chaos Emperor Dragon.

Using all his strength, Lance materialized as one of the combat programs. With Jeno's aid, the two of them outsmarted the legendary Beast and was able to caputre it's essence into one of the empty storage devices. Returning back to Loki, the Sinclairion created a new body to host Lance's memories, and he even added upgrades to his device, which is now called "Emperor". With the essence of a dragon king, Lance now also possess the ability to call upon all lesser dragons, as well as wielding their destructive powers.

Given the title as the "Destroyer of Faith", Lance has the habit of crushing his enemies' beliefs, as the female knight who first killed him did. The hatred of being betrayed by one's faith remains forever within him, which he now share with his enemies.

Another one of Lance's purpose in becoming a Destroyer is to find the ones who had brought him such pain. Though his memories are blurry, he still recalls the last thing he saw before he fall into that hell...

What a messed up history... Becoming immortal with only a portion of your brain is one equation for dimensional chaos... PERFECT for a demonic faction.

Nove felt her breath catch in her throat as the weapon pierced her torso. She lowered her head weakly to look at her nemesis, and the man noticed something else other than shock in her eyes.

"Fawkes."

That was what came forth coldly from the black-clothed one. His device responded instantly, and ejected a quartet of cartridges.

"...November 5th."

At once, an ominous dark red glow surrounded the spear's end, and a beam of condensed magic power was sent outwards from it. Fawkes released two more cartridges to increase the potency of the attack. Nove's expression of fright was the last V saw of her as an explosion culminated, the blast being so powerful that it pierced through the side of the vessel to the complete surprise of all outside, Hayate included.


Somewhere elsewhere, I felt a dagger penetrate his mind. G glanced at him, concernedly.

"What is it?", he inquired.

I, at first, couldn't muster up the power to speak. When he did, his voice was a hollow, shaking murmur.

"Nove...

Nove is...!"


The deed was done.

V lowered his spear, and quarter-turned to the duo of Numbers before him. Both of them couldn't believe their eyes, and Cinque was left almost wordless.

"N...Nove...sou na..." The eye-patched girl's voice was a meek whisper, and her tone rose in fury and sorrow.

"Nove...Nove...

NOVE!"

V watched mirthlessly as she sobbed weakly, tears forming in her one eye, and watched as, still wracked by loss, she stood, bearing a set of knives and leering at V vengefully.

V readied a stance. "Now you have something else to fight for...revenge. Just like me."

He raised his head.

"Let's begin in earnest, shall we...my adversaries?"

This is only alternate, but...

I found writing this to be somewhat hard, and, as with the former piece off of which I based this, partly painful, too. But...do tell me what you all think of this.

So to avoid the above issues I basiclly said “all universes are linked by a single timeline, so you can travel between them, but only to one universal “present” no flying into another universe 10,000 years in the past or anything. Now the “present” for one place could be the stone age and it could be the Culture for another, but still spatially speaking all universes are on the same clock. It also just so happens that the “present” of a universe often seems to coincide with an era depicted in the relevant fiction… funny that.

Bizarrely though time travel WITHIN a universe is possible, to an extent (it was too rampant in source materials for shows I wanted to include to totally disallow), but it’s difficult and fraught with risk. The universe also enforces consistency control, basiclly anything you do while going back in time is because you were supposed to go back and do it to begin with! So history is basiclly set anything that has happened was supposed to happen and will happen, and even if someone goes back and seemingly “alters” something that has happened, they really haven’t cause acutally even THAT was supposed to happen. The future though is anything but set, until something has happened it isn’t protected so you’re still shaping the future, but once the future becomes the present and then past, it’s protected from tampering.

Or something like that, this stuff makes my head hurt, basiclly I just didn’t want to deal with time travel and shit and just said “everyone’s on the same damn time end of story.” Why? Because I’m the fucking god of this place and I said so.

I see... After comparing everyone's views, apparently mine differs from everyone, and yet has points that share as well. For clutter:

In the mid 1990s, one scientist managed to direct a singular beam of photons into a thin diffraction slit. Theoretically, when that photon passes through the slit, it should pass through in a straight line due to lack of interference with other photons. It didn't, and over time it formed the trademark diffraction pattern of a normal point light source. This created the idea of the shadow photon, a parallel of light (and the reason why Naaru have Quera as parallel).

This also created my version of why the multiverse exists; everyone is a parallel of another, except that due to interaction between photons and other sub-particles, things can turn out either exactly the same, or completely different. Take for example, you're reading this piece. Some of that copy of "You" would be thinking what sort of crack am I sniffing again; some would be nodding in agreement; some of "you" might take a break and go get a drink; some of "You" might suddenly have a heart attack and keel over; some of "you" might even turn into a big green monster due to sudden overaccumulation of gamma energies.

However, you can almost never reach the other shadow photon clones, or be conscious of them. To cannibalize Einstein's great ideas, you could say, short of using up 2 universe's of energy, you can only view on Frame of Reference at anyone time. Only GODS have the energy and the right to do so; hence why this level of multidimensionalism is solely the privilege of the Naaru; Not Kluize can view all of the infinite dimensions and comprehend it at once.

But the multiverse doesn't just stop there, there's the "hyperinflation" of the big bang that adds even more variation of the timelines:

Hyperinflation

At the point of the Big Bang, after an infinistemally small amount of time, space went into hyperinflation, creating a multitude of parallel universes at an uncomprehendable rate. Since they occur within one fundamental unit of time (you can only resolve time into that smallest unit), several bundles of timelines are displaced relative to one another. Warpjump far enough, and you can go into the past, or end up in a parallel future.

Resolving the Paradox

When you change something in the past, and create a contradiction in the future, it's not exactly "you" who changed the past, but another copy of "you" who did the honors, creating the alternate timeline for you to return to, instead of you fading away.

This also means that there's a chance for you to return to the original timeline you came from. You can, but relative to yourself, it is now another frame of reference, so it is much more difficult to return.

On Circular Timelines

If hyperinflation occured, it is effectively like the Big Bang occuring over and over, separated by that fundamental unit of time. As such, there are several timelines sprouting out. It also means that the Big Rip (end of the multiverse) would be happening over and over.

Hence, time progresses in a straight line, but at the same time, loop over and over, ending at different points and going through different histories. Think of it as a giant version of the 4-Day Loop of Fate/Hollow Ataraxia.

Hence, relative to the Naaru, both circular timelines and liner progression holds at the same time. :3

etc, would be a bit of a letdown don't you think. This way everyone can see what direction I plan on taking him, but still leave enough leeway to write in new stuff as it comes up.

Well that bit came from an idea I had when they were discussing the different types of barriers(hey, a perfect excuse to go watch a bunch of Nanoha, it's for Research!) It seemed to me that every time someone used a barrier it was to block an incoming attack, so what would happen if you angled it slightly and instead tried to deflect it. Then I got to thinking, can't they shape barriers, why not use cone shaped ones to deflect beam attacks around yourself, or use them like mirrors to ricochet long range attacks back at an enemy. Seems they've got a lot of uses to me, some of them perhaps requiring a lot of extra energy, some just requiring a little basic geometry.

Moving on, I've got more of Entropy's abilities written up, and is it just me or is the hardest part coming up with names that don't sound goofy as hell.

Grav Step - Using Entropy’s gravity manipulation functions, the mage is able to propel himself along all 3 axes. This ability is notably different from most magic based flight because of both its high speed, and relative lack of control. The mage must plan out his trajectory before moving, lest he end up miles off course from a small error in the calculations, because of this, Grav Step has only limited combat applications, mostly short bursts of movement in a straight line.

Matter Manipulation 0 - With all limits active, Entropy is able to propel objects through space by manipulating the forces acting on it. Limits must be released before it can deform or change an object’s state of matter.

Mass Guard - The mage simultaneously creates a barrier and a gravity anomaly in the same space. This compresses nearby matter into a dense physical shield that overlaps the magical barrier. The addition of a matter based defense greatly increases its resistance to projectile attacks and physical strikes.

Limit Release 1
Blade Manipulation: Sonic - When Entropy is in Assault Mode the mage changes the blades default properties so that they send out pulses of force. This creates shockwaves that travel through the air whenever the blade is swung.

Blade Manipulation: Adamantium - Matter around the blade is compressed into an extremely dense metal. This form is useful when facing AMF equipped enemies as magical power is only needed to create the blade, not to hold its form.

Mass Shot - The mage creates bullets from compressed matter and fires them. This ability confers a great deal of control over the bullets, allowing them to change course mid-flight.

Matter Manipulation 1 - When one limit is released Entropy is able to compress and shape matter.

Limit Release 2
Grav Buster - Inspired by Nanoha’s supremely powerful energy focusing attacks. The mage fires off a beam with a barrier formed over its contours. Inside which, is a constantly shifting gravitational field. Any objects caught inside will be torn apart by forces from all directions.

Matter Manipulation 2 - When 2 limits are released Entropy is able to cause a shift in an object’s state of matter. This is accomplished by either compressing or decompressing the area around an object until it changes state.

Entropic Needles - This ability requires the cartridge system to be active, as well as requiring specialized ammunition. The mage decompresses specially created, ultra dense needles until they enter a highly energetic plasma state. These are then fired at opponents from long range.

Limit Release 3
Anarchic Barrage - The mage rapidly compresses and decompresses the space in a wide circle. This creates a massive wall of air moving at extremely high speed. These are generally shot in rapid succession, hence the name “Barrage.”

And to tie it all off, I've gotten started on some actual writing, just to make sure I can still form coherent thoughts and write dialog. Here's hoping.

"Oh nothing in particular, I just wanted to see who I'd be hanging out with next", the voice laughed to itself ,"Oh, and I'm not a dream, you'd better remember that."

"Hey how'd you-" Color flooded his vision, blinding him momentarily. He sat up straight and rubbed his eyes. "Wow, that was the wierdest dream I've had in ages", He looked over at the clock by his bed, he had one hour before he needed to catch his train. "Crazy voice made me late, guess I'll just have to skip breakfast." He tossed the covers aside and got out of bed. Outside, the streets buzzed with the sounds of city life; car horns, shouts from streetlevel, the sounds he was comfortable with. It helped him get his mind off the dream and the enigmatic woman who spoke to him. He didn't have time for that nonsense anyway, he had a train to catch and that was a much more pressing issue than any dream, it would just have to wait.

Yeah I agree about the barrier shapes. Circles take the least energy to make and stabilize as the surface tension is all spread out and are equally strong all around. Now a spinning cone-shaped one reminds me of a drill... It's that Gwen's new shield?

Unfortunately, the universe is not simple to understand, and yet I believe that at its very core, once you do understand it, you'll find an underlying elegant beauty and logical rationale to why things in the universe (and who knows, even the multiverse) work they way they do at the most basic most elementary definitive level.

I agree with you on finding names that don't sound tacky or stupid or just plain nonsensical.

These are some nice attacks though, although more of gravity manipulating objects than anything. Of course we've yet to see its full power, but I think some time-space bending techniques are in order

"Me? I'm Guy, Guy Laine." Were dreams supposed to be able to ask you questions like that? He'd have to do a little research when he woke up. " It's good to meet you, I guess, is there something else you wanted, Entropy?"

"Oh nothing in particular, I just wanted to see who I'd be hanging out with next", the voice laughed to itself ,"Oh, and I'm not a dream, you'd better remember that."

"Hey how'd you-" Color flooded his vision, blinding him momentarily. He sat up straight and rubbed his eyes. "Wow, that was the wierdest dream I've had in ages", He looked over at the clock by his bed, he had one hour before he needed to catch his train. "Crazy voice made me late, guess I'll just have to skip breakfast." He tossed the covers aside and got out of bed. Outside, the streets buzzed with the sounds of city life; car horns, shouts from streetlevel, the sounds he was comfortable with. It helped him get his mind off the dream and the enigmatic woman who spoke to him. He didn't have time for that nonsense anyway, he had a train to catch and that was a much more pressing issue than any dream, it would just have to wait.

They’ve been active for some thing like 10 years but have already taken out at least 2 solar systems (well one and 5/6ths anyway… the second one wasn’t exactly on purposes either.) and at least one planet to boot off the top of my head. In the mid 1990s, one scientist managed to direct a singular beam of photons into a thin diffraction slit. Theoretically, when that photon passes through the slit, it should pass through in a straight line due to lack of interference with other photons. It didn't, and over time it formed the trademark diffraction pattern of a normal point light source. This created the idea of the shadow photon, a parallel of light (and the reason why Naaru have Quera as parallel).

This also created my version of why the multiverse exists; everyone is a parallel of another, except that due to interaction between photons and other sub-particles, things can turn out either exactly the same, or completely different. Take for example, you're reading this piece. Some of that copy of "You" would be thinking what sort of crack am I sniffing again; some would be nodding in agreement; some of "you" might take a break and go get a drink; some of "You" might suddenly have a heart attack and keel over; some of "you" might even turn into a big green monster due to sudden overaccumulation of gamma energies.

However, you can almost never reach the other shadow photon clones, or be conscious of them. To cannibalize Einstein's great ideas, you could say, short of using up 2 universe's of energy, you can only view on Frame of Reference at anyone time. Only GODS have the energy and the right to do so; hence why this level of multidimensionalism is solely the privilege of the Naaru; Not Kluize can view all of the infinite dimensions and comprehend it at once.

But the multiverse doesn't just stop there, there's the "hyperinflation" of the big bang that adds even more variation of the timelines:

Hyperinflation

At the point of the Big Bang, after an infinistemally small amount of time, space went into hyperinflation, creating a multitude of parallel universes at an uncomprehendable rate. Since they occur within one fundamental unit of time (you can only resolve time into that smallest unit), several bundles of timelines are displaced relative to one another. Warpjump far enough, and you can go into the past, or end up in a parallel future.

Resolving the Paradox

When you change something in the past, and create a contradiction in the future, it's not exactly "you" who changed the past, but another copy of "you" who did the honors, creating the alternate timeline for you to return to, instead of you fading away.

This also means that there's a chance for you to return to the original timeline you came from. You can, but relative to yourself, it is now another frame of reference, so it is much more difficult to return.

On Circular Timelines

If hyperinflation occured, it is effectively like the Big Bang occuring over and over, separated by that fundamental unit of time. As such, there are several timelines sprouting out. It also means that the Big Rip (end of the multiverse) would be happening over and over.

Hence, time progresses in a straight line, but at the same time, loop over and over, ending at different points and going through different histories. Think of it as a giant version of the 4-Day Loop of Fate/Hollow Ataraxia.

Hence, relative to the Naaru, both circular timelines and liner progression holds at the same time. :3

Background:
Born on Adventus on MC 0056, he was the second child of Matin and Grace Forsynth, both Guardian-class Adventi users. A place where inner strength and knowledge were upheld, Arvis grew up surrounded in the ways of magic and technology combined together. His parents cared much for both Arvis and his older sister, Genevive, and encouraged them to try to find styles of magic that they preferred the most. Genevive was proficient in Mid-Childan while Arvis preferred Adventi itself, learning the basics quickly. Eventually, his sister was sent to the TSAB Academy while he went to the Adventi academy. There, his progress was unparalled compared to the other recruits. Passing his training in a short time, he could have become the youngest person in history to achieve Knight-class, but an earthquake on his city of Barhan tragically cut him off. As debris and whole building were falling down, every Adventi user was ordered to help get citizens out of the city buy providing them a safe path. At first, he performed his job perfectly, but while saving another group, he didn't notice that debris was falling around him. His parents noticed, and managed to keep it in the air, but they too, didn't expect that they had debrs falling around them. They got crushed, and the debris that they were holding up fell around Arvis. He managed to escape being crushed, but a piece managed to pierce his right eye. He lived through the earthquake, but he couldn't live down the fact that both his parents had died becasue of him. He withdrew from the academy, resolving to not use Adventi for the rest of his life. Six months later, he moved to Mid-Childa, where his sister, now 18, was.
His sister had heard about what happened, but was glad that Arvis survived the earthquake. At first, he was unresponsive, having survivor's guilt. Eventually, his sister seemed like he got him out of it, and so trained him in the Mid-Childan magic style, before sending him to the TSAB Academy. In his first few years, he didn't do that good, his superiors noting that he "...had the ability, but was afraid or hesitant." He was technically adept, though, and built his Storage Device, Acolyte. Still, he was usually a loner; that was until he met another trainee, Jade Sterling. She was a person that was like Arvis himself, one with great ability but hesitant about using it. Still, she kept trying, and wanted to help Arvis in any way. At first, they really didn't respond to each other; Arvis thought of her as someone that was a pest. Eventually, he was forced to work with her, and pretty soon, they became friends. They stayed like that until an accident involving both of them happened near the end of graduation. While training on the accuracy of their shooting-type spells, Jade miscalculated the power of one of her shooting spells and where it would hit, aiming straight at Arvis instead. He knew what was happening, and proceeded to act by using Adventi instead, but he remebered the memories he had, and hesitated. By the time he snapped back into reality, Jade had taken her own spell, and was down on the ground. She lived, but had to cope with an injury that slowed her down. He stopped talking to her again, and when they both graduated, they left for different units.
Arvis joined the 216th Special Combat Unit, and was put into Thunder Squad, where his performance was average, sometihng that caught the attention of everyone. He continured to be like that until two letters came in for him. One was a letter saying that Jade had been killed on a mission, by a blast that, without her injury sustained in the Academy, would have been easily dodged, and another one; Jade's own personal letter that she was going to send him after that same mission. He became depressed for a couple of days, blaming himself and his hesitancy, wondering what would have happened, what should have happened. Finally he made a choice: go back to Adventus and re-learn Adventi again, for the sake of all the people that he lost. Granted permission to go back, he did so quickly, with the help of his own sister.
Going back to Barhan, he discovered that most of his friends from long ago were now full-trained Knights, and his uncle, Gavin, himself skeptical of Adventi before, was the head trainer of the Adventi Academy, and also the toughest one, too. Training hard and long, his narutal aptitude of Adventi came back to him quickly, and in about 6 months, he was officially a Guardian-class user. Before parting, though, his uncle and friends gave him two parting gifts: a regulator that was built from both his mother and father's own regulators themselves, and an artificial right eye, in which the color didn't fit his left eye due to time constraints. Coming back, he was like a new person: he started to pick up the pace and become one of Thunder Squad's strengths.

Personality:
His personality is a Janus-faced one: on one side, he's a friendly guy, free-thinking, having a dry sense of humor, and one that seemed to be confident. On the other side, though, he's a person who constantly doubts himself, always concerned with everyone he cares about, and fears about losing the people he cares about, of doing the wrong thing, and traces of survivor's guilt still stay with him.

Magic Style:
-Adventi
A magic style that focuses on the inner strength of the person and the mind becoming one. Mystical since its discovery, the user apparently takes advantage of his own body and the manual manipulation of magic particles to do things that would be found in veteran mages. Rare in other magic styles, a user does not need a Device to cast; a user is trained to focus on magic particles using only their bodies. This has the advantage of quick to none cast times, and no magic circles of any sort, for added surprise and stealth. Unfortunately, a user can't user several spells in a prolonged manner, since the mind and body is stressed much more than a user who is using a magic style that has a Device, able to only be used in bursts. That means that users have to react quickly to situations, or they are as vunerable as a normal person. It also takes a long time to become a proficient user at it. There are very few people in Adventus that are gifted wtih the power needed to basically learn this magic style very fast, as is the case with Arvis.
In the Adventi system, there are several classes:

• -Initiate
• -Apprentice
• -Knight (most common)

From there, it can split off into two groups:

• -Guardians (mostly based on combat itself)

• -High Guardians- an expert in combat, takes many years to get.

or:

• -Negotiators (mostly based on politics)

• -Expert Negotiators- an expert in politics, also takes many years to get, although slightly shorter than a High Guardian.

Finally:

• -Master

There are also tiers of individual spells, i.e.; a user with a Tier 1 spell pales in comparison to another user who is useing the very same spell, but is at Tier 4 or 5. Spells have another subsection once they reach Tier 3. Mastering a single spell, at Tier 5, takes a lot of time, practice, and a bit of luck.

Summary:

-No magic circle

Cons:
-Can be used only in bursts
-Takes years to train

Device:

-Regulator-"Gideon"
Not a Device, per se, but regulators are Adventi tools that help regulate the influx of magic particles. When someone reaches Guardian-class status, their bodies tend to fluctuate when using magic particles. For the safety and survival of the user and his/her allies, these regulators are made to control the amount of magic particles used. His regulators appear as black gloves, with composite and metal plating on the top.

-Storage Device- "Acolyte"
Built in the TSAB Academy, Acolyte was maily designed for Arvis to fight at a short-medium range. In its sealed form, it looks like a small coin, showing two faces, one facing left, and one facing right. In its only form, it looks like a futursitic assault rifle. It has a female AI, and adresses him by his first name. It is also equipped with a storage system, carrying 20 rounds per magazine.

Fighting Style:
He uses his Adventi spells mainly, using Mid-Childan as a backup or in tandem with Adventi. Melee-wise, he's very experienced, since Adventi users are primarily trained in hand-to-hand combat and doding attacks. He prefers to stay away from the enemy, though.

Guardian Jacket:
Guardian Jackets are similar to Barrier Jackets in function, providing many of the same capabilities. Arvis' Guardian Jacket has two forms: in the default state, his Jacket looks like a navy T-shirt, with a straps attached that lead to a gear-shaped attachment on his back that can be used to store Acolyte when in use, dark gray pants, weird-looking shoes, and a belt. When the regulator is unlocked, his Guardian Jacket changes. The upper part of his Jacket is changed from a navy T-shirt to a gray body suit, covered by an upper breastplate. As well as providing protection, the breastplate also provides Arvis with a way to heal wounds in combat, by injecting self-refilling biofoam into wounds. He needs some time away from getting hit to let the Jacket heal the wounds.

Focus Thought: Arvis' training in Adventi lets him focus to the point where time slows down for a few seconds, letting him think about what to do. It even lets him dodge projectiles coming at him for a while.

Movement:
-Adventi
Charge Jump: Using magic particles that surround his feet and legs, Arvis can jump higher than normal, but it takes a few seconds for him to charge it. It is also used for one of his offensive abilities.

Timeshift-Tier 2: Using magic particles to cut a small hole in the time-space continium, Arvis can attack a target with blinding speed. He can only do this a few times though, and has to stop using his Adventi spells for a short time as his focus on his spells come slower.

Offensive:
-Mid-Childa
Stutter Fire: Several underpowered magic projectiles are fired very fast. Uses 1 cartridge for every 5 shots.

Shotgun Blast: A number of projectiles are fired and spread out over an area.

Burst Fire: 3 projectiles are shot at one time, balancing power and accuracy. Uses 2 projectiles.

-Adventi
Lift-Tier 5: Using magic projectiles to surround the target, Arvis can lift them up, throwing them around like a ragdoll or using either Acolyte to finish them off. He can hold a target up as long as he has enough focus.

-Multi-lift: The sub-form of Lift, Arvis can lift up multiple objects all at once.

Surge-Tier 5: Gathering magic particles around his hands, Arvis can unleash a shockwave. The intensity of Surge depends on how long Arvis can gather magic particles.

-Steal: Arvis focuses Surge in a small area, pulling it in his direction. Useful for disarming or using something fast.

Aeon Pulse-Tier 3: Using the electromagnetic pulses in his body, coupled with magic particles, Arvis can shoot a pulse of electricty out of his hands.

-Radial Flare: Containing electromagnetic pulses and particles until reaching a critical point, Arvis unleashes an explosion of electricty that extends in a wide area. This takes all of his focus, and he has to stay immobile for a while, though.

Shatter- Tier 2: Manipulating magic particles and the air around, Arvis launches 3 projectiles of ice that hits a target at absolute zero (-459 degrees Fahrenheit and -273 degrees Celsius).

Seismic Pulse: Using Focus Jump, Arvis hits the ground with his fist, manipulating projectiles to make a sesimic pulse that throws targets off their feet.

Defensive:
-Adventi
Negate- Tier 5: Using magic particles and electromagnetic pulses, Arvis creates a shield that protects him from anything in front of him. Anything that touches it is rejected and thrown back. He can either move forward and keep the shield as long as he can focus, or he could place about 4 shields in different areas. He can only defend in one direction, though.

-Sustained Sphere: Bending several shields, Arvis can make a sphere, able to protect him from all sides. In the past, he had to hold it up in order to use it. Now, he can keep it up as long as he has enough focus.

Trivia:
-Arvis has a low tendency for spicy foods.
-He is a moderate pilot and gunner, from his experiences at Adventus.
-Many people think that his heterochromia is natural; he himself actually likes the fact that both the colors of his eyes are different.
-He likes writing, but severely hates math.
-He knows a lot of people, especially the two forwards of Stars Squad.
-He hates to be alone for an extended period of time.

Limit Release 0
Grav Step - Using Entropy’s gravity manipulation functions, the mage is able to propel himself along all 3 axes. This ability is notably different from most magic based flight because of both its high speed, and relative lack of control. The mage must plan out his trajectory before moving, lest he end up miles off course from a small error in the calculations, because of this, Grav Step has only limited combat applications, mostly short bursts of movement in a straight line.

Matter Manipulation 0 - With all limits active, Entropy is able to propel objects through space by manipulating the forces acting on it. Limits must be released before it can deform or change an object’s state of matter.

Mass Guard - The mage simultaneously creates a barrier and a gravity anomaly in the same space. This compresses nearby matter into a dense physical shield that overlaps the magical barrier. The addition of a matter based defense greatly increases its resistance to projectile attacks and physical strikes.

Limit Release 1
Blade Manipulation: Sonic - When Entropy is in Assault Mode the mage changes the blades default properties so that they send out pulses of force. This creates shockwaves that travel through the air whenever the blade is swung.

Blade Manipulation: Adamantium - Matter around the blade is compressed into an extremely dense metal. This form is useful when facing AMF equipped enemies as magical power is only needed to create the blade, not to hold its form.

Mass Shot - The mage creates bullets from compressed matter and fires them. This ability confers a great deal of control over the bullets, allowing them to change course mid-flight.

Matter Manipulation 1 - When one limit is released Entropy is able to compress and shape matter.

Limit Release 2
Grav Buster - Inspired by Nanoha’s supremely powerful energy focusing attacks. The mage fires off a beam with a barrier formed over its contours. Inside which, is a constantly shifting gravitational field. Any objects caught inside will be torn apart by forces from all directions.

Matter Manipulation 2 - When 2 limits are released Entropy is able to cause a shift in an object’s state of matter. This is accomplished by either compressing or decompressing the area around an object until it changes state.

Entropic Needles - This ability requires the cartridge system to be active, as well as requiring specialized ammunition. The mage decompresses specially created, ultra dense needles until they enter a highly energetic plasma state. These are then fired at opponents from long range.

Limit Release 3
Anarchic Barrage - The mage rapidly compresses and decompresses the space in a wide circle. This creates a massive wall of air moving at extremely high speed. These are generally shot in rapid succession, hence the name “Barrage.”

Just wanted to say that I've been reading about Entropy and Guy, and the concept is really interesting. I created an Earth Mage (Gaia) that is able to do similar things, such as mass manipulation and mass shots, however your idea of using Gravity for similar effects is very sweet.

I also have to say, using "Guy" as a name is awesome. The "Guy" I'm thinking about right now, though, is the one from Tales of the Abyss.

Background

Lance was a Velkan Knight around one or two hundred years ago. He has being in the service of the Holy Emperor for nearly two decades already, defending his the borders of his beloved kingdom with his life. He has seen through several battles and had always protect the helpless without any hesitation.

He believed wholeheartedly in Justice and the honor of the Knights. He has a wife and a family, as well as many friends, and he was even scheduled to be promoted to a Commander post.

Unfortunately, that's when the happy story ends. On the day he was supposed to return home to his family, the military base he was stationed to came under siege by unknown forces. Many of his fellow Knights fell quickly under the invaders unstoppable advance.

Lance made several requests to the Command Center for reinforcement, but they never came. Instead, the Royal Air force launched an all out bombing run with the intention of destroying the base to take out the enemy, and anyone else still in it.

Lance was left to survive and defeat the enemy all on his own. Despite his admirable efforts, he was not a match to the enemy commander and was propmtly defeated and left to die.

But fate would not let it end there as well. One of the bombs exploded near them and caused the ground to collapse, taking him down with it. As it turns out, the base was built right on top of an ancient site were the first experiment with 'living' programmes and artificial intelligences were carried out. The details are still uncleared, but somehow right before he died, Lance's consciousness was somehow fused with one of the free crystals in the area.

Unfortunately, the site was abandon because the AIs had taken over the entire system and have all gone 'insane' over time. These AIs probe and twist Lance's memories, logic and reasoning. They fueled his hatred for all the wrongs that were or weren't done to him.

Hundreds of years later, the Destroyer of Dreams was task with the mission of retrieving any lost Logia information that may be found in the very site where the former Knight had lose his life.

After destroying most of the AIs' defensive programs, Jeno made his way towards the main super computer and was confronted by Lance... Or at least the software with his memories. Intrigue by him, Jeno wanted to recuit him, believing that he would serve well as a Destroyer.

But Lance was too driven by his hatred and soon he started modifying the combat programs to counter Jeno's spells. In the midst of the chaos, Jeno's Lightning attacks somehow misfired and scrambled Lance's programming. Part of it snapped him out of his insanity, while most of the damage had corrupted his memories files and alter his behaviour patterns.

The combination of the two is the main reason for his attraction to... Very Vengeful women as it's was both a female who had killed him, and his 'hate' folder was reprogrammed to the wrong response files

After a bit of talking, Lance agreed to join Jeno. But before that, he would need a weapon. Lance hacked into the mainframe of the system and located the most dangerous AI of this entire facility. It was the memories of an ancient Black dragon king - The Chaos Emperor Dragon.

Using all his strength, Lance materialized as one of the combat programs. With Jeno's aid, the two of them outsmarted the legendary Beast and was able to caputre it's essence into one of the empty storage devices. Returning back to Loki, the Sinclairion created a new body to host Lance's memories, and he even added upgrades to his device, which is now called "Emperor". With the essence of a dragon king, Lance now also possess the ability to call upon all lesser dragons, as well as wielding their destructive powers.

Given the title as the "Destroyer of Faith", Lance has the habit of crushing his enemies' beliefs, as the female knight who first killed him did. The hatred of being betrayed by one's faith remains forever within him, which he now share with his enemies.

Another one of Lance's purpose in becoming a Destroyer is to find the ones who had brought him such pain. Though his memories are blurry, he still recalls the last thing he saw before he fall into that hell...

Very interesting. BTW, Lance could relate to one of my characters, who's soul was trapped inside a Relic-like crystal (I even came up with the idea before the Numbers were introduced. ). However, in the case of Lance it was only his consciousness.

I see... After comparing everyone's views, apparently mine differs from everyone, and yet has points that share as well. For clutter:

In the mid 1990s, one scientist managed to direct a singular beam of photons into a thin diffraction slit. Theoretically, when that photon passes through the slit, it should pass through in a straight line due to lack of interference with other photons. It didn't, and over time it formed the trademark diffraction pattern of a normal point light source. This created the idea of the shadow photon, a parallel of light (and the reason why Naaru have Quera as parallel).

This also created my version of why the multiverse exists; everyone is a parallel of another, except that due to interaction between photons and other sub-particles, things can turn out either exactly the same, or completely different. Take for example, you're reading this piece. Some of that copy of "You" would be thinking what sort of crack am I sniffing again; some would be nodding in agreement; some of "you" might take a break and go get a drink; some of "You" might suddenly have a heart attack and keel over; some of "you" might even turn into a big green monster due to sudden overaccumulation of gamma energies.

However, you can almost never reach the other shadow photon clones, or be conscious of them. To cannibalize Einstein's great ideas, you could say, short of using up 2 universe's of energy, you can only view on Frame of Reference at anyone time. Only GODS have the energy and the right to do so; hence why this level of multidimensionalism is solely the privilege of the Naaru; Not Kluize can view all of the infinite dimensions and comprehend it at once.

But the multiverse doesn't just stop there, there's the "hyperinflation" of the big bang that adds even more variation of the timelines:

Hyperinflation

At the point of the Big Bang, after an infinistemally small amount of time, space went into hyperinflation, creating a multitude of parallel universes at an uncomprehendable rate. Since they occur within one fundamental unit of time (you can only resolve time into that smallest unit), several bundles of timelines are displaced relative to one another. Warpjump far enough, and you can go into the past, or end up in a parallel future.

Resolving the Paradox

When you change something in the past, and create a contradiction in the future, it's not exactly "you" who changed the past, but another copy of "you" who did the honors, creating the alternate timeline for you to return to, instead of you fading away.

This also means that there's a chance for you to return to the original timeline you came from. You can, but relative to yourself, it is now another frame of reference, so it is much more difficult to return.

On Circular Timelines

If hyperinflation occured, it is effectively like the Big Bang occuring over and over, separated by that fundamental unit of time. As such, there are several timelines sprouting out. It also means that the Big Rip (end of the multiverse) would be happening over and over.

Hence, time progresses in a straight line, but at the same time, loop over and over, ending at different points and going through different histories. Think of it as a giant version of the 4-Day Loop of Fate/Hollow Ataraxia.

Hence, relative to the Naaru, both circular timelines and liner progression holds at the same time. :3

Oh, yes. Dragon Ball Z! (No, I'm not a DBZ hater.) I really liked the Cell saga, especially that idea of changing the past and creating different timelines as a result. Trunks did say, his time wont be changed, but he can at least make one where his people is saved. Of course, there were plotholes everywhere, such as how is he able to know WHICH timeline he goes back to with the time machine.

Yeah I agree about the barrier shapes. Circles take the least energy to make and stabilize as the surface tension is all spread out and are equally strong all around. Now a spinning cone-shaped one reminds me of a drill... It's that Gwen's new shield?

Now, you see, the reason I don't like the whole parallel streams theory is that it leaves absolutely no room whatsoever for any form of free will...

Think about it...if everything happens somewhere...then everything HAS to happen somewhere...in which case, what HAS to Happen here HAS to happen here...Because Everything else is happening everywhere else...in which case, nobody has any choices at all.

It's absolute predestination, and I don't like it. That's why I don't like the concept. It's also flawed in theory, but thats the main reason I don't like it.
