I have Vista, and I haven't had any problems. On that note, keep up the good work, can't wait for the next release !

Did you download the demo patch or the full game patch?

The demo. I'm going to be purchasing the full game in up coming weeks though, so I'll have to test it for that.

Hmm...That's strange.
Cause' whenever I get to a certain part in the demo it freezes...

Maybe it is the brand of computer I have perhaps? Or because it is a labtop? idk
(Acer)

Anybody know the reason?

What part would that happen to be?

Unhappy

After I click in this part of the story to progress, it shows the next screen's background (No people) and then says "Not responding" at the top of the game's box.

Spoiler for Scene:

If you want I can explain more or post more pictures...

This is a somewhat known problem with onscripter and Vista, and used to be a problem with multicore processors. The internal mpeg decoding library freezes the program after starting/stopping music playback a certain number of times.

The good news is: we'll be having a new Onikakushi patch release shortly (like in a week or so) which will have a more recent build of onscripter that uses newer libraries. Based on tests so far, it's eliminated the Vista freeze problem

It seems like a new set of official onscripter builds should be available soon as well, and if they come out before our patch does, we'll be sure to include the official binary.

In the meantime, I wonder if running the program in "XP Compatibility Mode" would help, though I can't be sure since I don't have Vista myself. If not, then saving more frequently and restarting from the most recent save should at least get you past each freeze point.

Take care,
Mion (Sonozaki Futagotachi)

"XP Compatibility Mode" completly solved it for me when I tried it on my work computer.
Also those Onscripter Builds you had Klash and I test fixed it as well.

I found this page describing how to use Compatibility Mode: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windo...tibility-mode/

Choose "Windows XP (Service Pack 2)" for the compatibility mode.

Thank you so much! Yatta! It worked perfectly!

Last Question, (lol) is their a full screen option in the demo or full game patch? Or do I just have to fool around with the buttons more?

You can use the 'F' key to toggle between full screen & windowed mode, in both the demo and full game.

Thanks Shion (and Mion, of course!),

I'm looking forward (with some dread) to further uncovering the mysteries following the Watanagashi festival *gulp*

Two days, too! Yay (if that's the right word )

TIP - Its so not the right word unless there is something wrong with you - hence its the right word for me

As always, Here is an Higurashi English patch installer for the full game. Upgrades the previous one, blah, blah...
