[Sven and Selene] - Survival, Confirmed?

For those of you who have argued countless times over the status of Sven and Selene, I believe you can rest assured. Naoki Moriya, the manga artist, has a little something interesting at the finale of the manga. Whether people chose to accept this as official or not may. The manga installment concludes with an unpublished Epilogue which shows Sol visiting Ed's grave and apologizing. Also present is Reyes. As Sol prepares to leave, Selene shows up with a bag. She sets one beer down on his grave for him, and cracks open another for her and downs it. She says "he came, together with me" and points over to someone walking on a crutch (the arm brace kind). Standing over by a tree stumbling along while walking is none other than Sven. While I'm not entirely sure about his current mental state, he still seems to have a hard time letting go of the brain washing as he launches into a mini-rant. To quell him, Selene asks him, "What is your favorite thing to do?", to which he replies, "I want to look at the stars!"

So, whether you take that as fact or not, there you have it. They survived.

So why do people fight, anyway?
Perhaps the meaning of existence lies within their will to fight.
People feel a sense of accomplishment through battle.
And it’s also a fact that the ones actually fighting are never perceived as being tainted.

More fuel for my stance that literal translations are often ambiguous and sometimes silly.
