I'm just...Wow. That was a very impressive episode.
Those two new characters certainly have some stylish moves.

There's ALWAYS a limit. Too much muscle isn't exactly a very good thing if your body can't handle it.

What that limit is depends on the physical and mental capabilities of the user, everybody's different after all. Even with technology.

Fullmetal Alchemist and Nanoha-series both use science or technology to make "magic", of course it has nothing to do with real science but it is not just abrakadabra magical powers.
Like I suggested, Technomagick, rather than the traditional Sorcery.

I think we should have gotten that issue settled 2 seasons ago...

Reinforce Zwei is officially awesome. She even holds a rank in her own right, although she's only an NCO... I guess she'd probably act as Hayate's adjutant in their normal duties.

Hmm, nanoha.com seems to be down at the moment - the standard error message it's displaying cites "maintenance downtime or capacity problems." I wonder if they've got more interest than they expected, now that the first episode's aired?

I actually think the first episode is a bit flat because of the lack of suspense (it's only an exam, after all). I also haven't been following the Nanoha news, so the appearance of Mahou Shoujo Subaru & Teana is a bit of a surprise for me. I guess this is similar to how Raiden appear in MGS2.

Having said that, there are lots of good things in the episode, especially the music and also the new direction with all the girls getting much older. The action scenes are pretty well done too.
I think we are also on track to see Nanoha Jr. and especially Fate Jr. in Nanoha IV

More impression and a few more caps

Is that Ichiro Miyata and Makanouchi Ippo I see working together? Oh Shiii...

Wait, wrong series.

Anyway, the first episode was decent. Nothing outstanding in my opinion, but it gets the main idea of what it wants to show in episode 1 which is the dynamics of Subaru/Teana and what they're capable of well. It didn't really fill my quota of setting up the epic scale I was hoping to see yet, but it already felt more "involved" than A's and Nanoha since episode 1 really was more like a mecha series's field exercise episode (( something I haven't seen in a long time...maybe almost 5? )), only with girls channelling super robot vibes. Let's just hope they really up the scale when the shit officially hits the girls. Right now...with only one apparent loli villian and some cracky ugly drones that can be taken out by a well set up B-team, it doesn't truly feel that awesome yet.

Regardless, it's a good episode. The Miyata/Ippo dynamic between Subaru and Teana was well-concieved, and the final part where Subaru payed respects to mechanical hotblooded greatness so few people watch and appreciate was orgasmic. I'll give it a 7 out of 10.

P.S Am I the only who thought Elio looked awesome in the OP moreso than everyone else?

I guess with the OP, that obscure line on the character infomation for Elio on something like converting Magic to Lighting or such starts to make sense now. I guess the affinity to lighting does go well with Fate. Makes me wonder on the power output through.

Maybe I was too young, or not well informed, but I don't get the reference of Subaru's attacks at all

Anyway, remember that we're at the first episode of a 26 episode series, so don't expect anything earth-shattering yet.

That's the worst part, we DON'T KNOW if she's a villian... Everything is guess-work.

If the OP is any indication, those 'cracky ugly drones' could be taken out by both Nanoha and Fate without even trying to aim.

Of course, any villian that uses machines to do their dirty work only has one combat strategy:

"If the current number of drones don't get the job done, add another '0' to the back and try again"

Let me enlighten you:

Subaru's Revolver Knuckle in general = Gear Fighter Dendoh
Her Break Road skill = Combattler V
Her attack on that sphere's barrier by firing more cartridges = Super Robot War Original Generation's Alteisen Reise' Revolver Bunker Attack
And her Divine Buster = 95% a rip off of GaoFighGar's (From GaoGaiGar FINAL) Broken Phantom attack

If it turns out that Subaru's a closet mecha otaku she'll become my #1 StrikerS character by default XD

Freaking awesome! I almost cried manly Tears of Joy
Hayate looks damn fine, and Reniforce Zwei was Uber moe
Im Glad the old Cast is still in the Show.- Also the new Cast seems not so bad. No Competition for Hayate, but still fine XD I wish I could understand what they where talking about...

By the Way, who votet 1/10?

There are some people who hate Nanoha series.
At least I see one guy that try to convince a famous blogger not to blog this series because he/she think it's waste of time to blog anime that he/she hate.

To be honest, I wasn't. There's bound to be some sub-species of trolls going about an unholy crusade against popular series ... Only to get pwn by the fans everytime.

Last time it was 'Kanon' and 'Code Geass', I'm guessing this season would be 'StrikerS', 'Hayate' and 'Lucky Star'

@Jabawock
Wonder if he has given up yet?

EDIT -

Why StrikerS? Because ALOT of people love the previous two.

Why Lucky Star? Because it's Kyoto Animation.

Why Hayate? ... Gut feeling

Nah; people have rights to what they like and hate, tho it'll be good if said person can come out and explain his giving the low rating. Or why he bothers.

On topic; downloading this hefty 500 MB raw, and at a time when my ISP decides to get shifty too, is really getting on my nerves.
