GG fansubs posted a new trailer -> http://www.ggkthx.org/2011/04/01/i-r...ed-by-someone/

and i agree with them, looks like this anime is cheaply made like those regular Fairy Tail or Naruto Shippuuden episodes, so bad dudes

I am unable to see the supposedly awful animation, but I don't think I like the character designs in the actual show. They're more responsible for the whole "cheap" look which people seem to be exaggerating about than the actual animation. Arguably, it's definitely not amazing, but I don't see why everyone decided to start panicking about it either. Some small scenes even looked cool (i.e, guy sitting on the table while eating/checking his notebook). As for the comparisons with shows such as Naruto Shippuuden and all... If it has any action scenes that are as well animated as the stuff Hiroyuki Yamashita and others pull out every once in a while in Shippuuden, I am sure I'll enjoy it.

That aside, the bit from the ED sounds pretty cool. Always been a fan of School Food Punishment, so I guess it's a given. Coupled with Nico, at least where theme songs are concerned C is a pretty tough contender for best OP/ED combo of the season.

Why am I getting a weird feeling this show will be some sort of mix of Persona 4 and Wall Street?

Hadn't seen that trailer yet but geeze, the more I see of this show the less I know what to make of it. Still excited to watch it, I just feel like I have no idea what I'm getting into.

I watched all of Nakamura's other works and aside from Bakeneko and Mononoke, which arguably featured some very good action scenes with amazing animation, Trapeze wasn't exactly a show which people would remember for its top notch animation quality. It might have looked better to the eyes of many because it had some weird visual gimmicks along with a distinctive art style going on, and also the inclusion of live-action segments which, to me, felt completely out of place, but when simple animation was concerned it really wasn't anything remarkable.

That said, being disappointed might be okay, in particular since everyone seems to have created insane expectatives towards a show which we had little info on aside from the director, but I particularly cannot see exactly how this show features such awful animation, to the point where some people got to the point of comparing it to some of DEEN's worst efforts. It isn't amazing, nor is it something I'd call "above average", but it's definitely not something so horrible that it should be burning people's eyes on contact. Not to mention we're talking about a one minute long trailer, which may or may not be a very good indicative of the overall quality. So I guess I'll just wait until the actual show airs and save my thoughts for then.

I thought it will be some kind of mind battle anime from the synopsis, something like liar game, but it seems I get it wrong... again. It's not gonna make me to not give it a try, although my anticipation has gone down a lot.

The trailer was surprisingly bland visually. Definitely not what I've come to expect from Nakamura.

I'm not too fond of the chara design for the anime :/

It definitely does have a "cheap" look, but I think the show as a whole looks interesting.

Uhhh... the designs look like mediocre fanart to me.
Hopefully, the story makes up for it, but I'm not really liking the card game bit.

The BGM composer of this series (Iwasaki Taku) was still mixing tunes for use in this show on the 5th of April (last week). He blogged about composing the music without any reference material beyond the scripts of the first three episodes. Furthermore he also had no source material the anime was an adaptation of and hence finds it difficult.

That doesn't sound very good to me. Also why the hell is he still mixing BGM for the first 3 episode 2 weeks before the show's airing?!

As a consolation, he speaks highly of the the person in charge of the music placement Nagasaki Yukio, I don't know how reassuring that is to me, since they see each other on twitter...

I don't think the character designs are too bad. I think it could fit well with tone of the series.

And bad character designs are no barrier to success. I mean look at Kaiji.

I could be wrong but on some projects she did with bee train all Yuki Kajiura had was chara designs and "keywords" given by the director. And those turned out pretty darn good,of course not everyone is Yuki Kajiura.

Oooohh, Taku Iwasaki is C's composer? Well that certainly made up for the initial disappointment at the lackluster looking production quality.
