Seriously, the one good Cecilia-centered story I've seen (official) was the special short that came with the DVDs. The girl really deserves some more character development (even if she's a bloody whiny Pom)...

This is actually why--even though Charu is still my favorite--I ended up writing a fic about Lingyin. There's got to be some sort of conflict going on to put the story into motion. Without it, it'd be all smooth, charming, and outright dull. Any conflict with regards to Charlotte would be all external (The Dunois family et al), while with most of the other girls it's conflict borne entirely out of their personalities.

That's true.
What I just really hate about what Izuru did with Charl is that hidden yandere. It's like... I don't know how to handle this box. D: That and the rabid fans who'll tear you limb from limb if you so much as hint at an imperfection in Charl. |

Cecilia appearing in Vandam is her pre-canon state, and I tried my best to portray what a young woman, slightly unnerved by her useless father and fresh out of working with Capt Price the SAS, is like when she ups and does her job without distraction. I did make her somewhat more friendly to "Charles", but that's just to line up with her later reaction within canon. I kept it as ambiguous as I could. The Cecilia arc within SHOOTiNG ST@RS will come in Season 2, after I've derailed canon with the climax battle involving Rachel and the ghosts of her past. I haven't thought exactly what would happen, but after having her muck around as a smuck, I'm going to get Maximillan beat some sense into her. Or maybe have her befriended by Karon. Either way, I feel that she's a character waiting to develop, and is worth attention herself. Quote:

But once we're done with the giant Dunois arc, Char will be back to her F/Zero Saber-like depiction when she first appears in Vandam. Canon derailment never felt so satisfying.

And don't you go around spreading such blasphemy. I guess using Cecilia so much just made her likable. Especially my design of her second shift. It's possibly my favorite design thus far. Second comes Charlotte's second shift design. |

Sooo, just got around to reading 'Soaring of the One-Eyed Dragon' ... I saw it before but I stopped when I realized that Ichika was suppose to be THE Masamune Date from Basara. The realization overloaded my RAM and I had to wait for an upgrade to continue reading.
Really, it's such a bad x-over but it works! It's the novelty of it, I'm sure. The sheer GAR of Basara seems to adequately make up for the distinct LACK thereof in IS. I am fond of the power duo of the Orimuras and all the fighting references. It's obvious the author has done a fair bit of research and put a lot of work into it. Of course I liked it, its filled to the brim with Orimura-plications.

Also she is technically the weakest member of Ichika's Harem because She (almost) lost a battle to a beginner who just started using IS and don't even know the rules and can't be bother to read the thick manual. === That is why I usually let Cecilia do the curbstomping... === Edit: There is a saying: too much good thing is bad. (Gar-Archer kind of balance his Gar-ness out by being...... a very good house-husband when he is not fighting stuff) Too much Gar will lead to testosterone poisoning which is bad.... Testosterone happened to be one of the many reason why males generally have shorter lifespan than female. Also in IS setting, it kind of make males look bad. It's like saying: Males are only good at violence and can't do anything else without resorting to fighting. but... then again, who cares. Five second of Glory is better than nothing right?

I'll be damned but amongst the main harem, Charlotte is the last one for me.
Why? Well, dunno, exactly, but more or less I'm with Hawke. Charlotte is, simply a good as she is in early V2, if I rule out her yandere tendency. I don't think I need to add more spotlight than necessary, but as the result, she LOSES spotligth percentage altogether. Yay for Draft of first part... Quote:

Also, Ichika's callsign is not a squad name (and he is not a squad leader either), the one is indeed, 1 = Ichi

Zero, just a question? Have you read any books by Stephen Coonts? I think your description of air combat needs a bit of work. It's a little...wooden. Air combat is very tight and terse--a pilot isn't just flying his plane and shooting--he also has to watch his altitude, his teammates, et al.
No, seriously. Pick up some of the early books by Stephen Coonts (Flight of the Intruder, Final Flight, The Minotaur). Coonts was an A6 Intruder pilot in Vietnam and was a flight instructor---EG one of the best people to refer to when describing combat air piloting and expresisng that into words. Recommendations: Air combat - Stephen Coonts (Flight of the Intruder) Infantry/Tank Warfare - Harold Coyle (Team Yankee) Special Operations - Richard "Dick" Marcinko (Rogue Warrior series)
