So "No Death" for EP5 has never sat well with me. Though really, the fake magic circles (as said, probably drawn by Rosa or a cousin) are among the least problematic elements of EP5, anyways.

And thinking on the issue of "Why the hell would Yasu kill Nanjo?", I realized that we're talking about the same emotionally overcharged girl who was did in fact, on two seperate occasions, shoot / stake herself in the damn head purely to preserve her illusion / make shit more confusing.

Everyone technically ended up dead... only we were never showed that scene. The general theory is that the deaths we're shown are fake... later however the people that had faked their death were killed... and so was Krauss. Only, since nothing is said about what happened later because the trial interrupted the flow of the story, we can't really guess how they were murdered and who did the killing.

Ep 7 suggested Yasu resented Nanjo had the others for making her/him survive the fall.

Yeah, I'm aware that everyone died later. I posted mostly in response to someone commenting that it was "Yasu or no deaths", and to restate that End has ALL SORTS OF ISSUES if we're holding it to the exact same bar as the other arcs. Mind you, this red can go either way because the reference of "shortly after" is relative, but I personally think it means Krauss was literally murdered right after Natsuhi heard him on the phone. I forget the timeline of Natsuhi's movements versus' the movements of everyone else, as a group, but, within 30 minutes of the call?

And that seriously wouldn't be any more odd than Krauss being taken hostage in the first place. 'Cause EP5 rolls like that. XD

But I guess it was just a moment of anger and later realized they had no fault. Although... that's just an interpretation. We don't really know if that happened or not.

In fact I said 'it suggested' not that 'it stated'.

We don't know the exact, objective truth.
Regarding the sentence showing how upset yasu was, we don't know which point of view if being used, however, regardless of it, who's not Yasu couldn't know what was in Yasu's heart and Yasu might have embellished the truth or distorted it according to Yasu's own feelings.

So I think mine is a possible interpretation, though definitely not a red truth. Let's say it gets to the level of blue?

My belief however was that if the gold was discovered Yasu wouldn't kill the people but this won't spare them from being killed in the end because one of the siblings would kindly take care of this.

Double quote for truth. It was an amazing end which suited the style of storytelling in Umineko. I would have liked to know what's inside Eva's diary, but Ange's reaction made that all too clear.

Ange seemed ready to accept any truth when she opened the diary, yet after reading it, she refused to accept it. That leads me to believe that it might really be the Rudolf/Kyrie/Battler culprit scenario.

Bern said it wouldn't have a happy ending. She didn't say it would have a bad ending, or any ending at all.

I'd argue that, thanks to the structure of the story, all we were really doing was confirming Ange's horrible beginning. Her ending, ultimately, was up to her.

And this is assuming she didn't really jump off the building (and I don't think so, as there's a limit to what a human brain can imagine during one fall, "An Occurrence at Owl-Creek Bridge" aside!)

It's also possible that she wouldn't accept an answer like, "Battler got curious about the mysteries of the island and wandered into an underground munitions dump while carrying a lit match, accidentally blowing up everyone. Eva only survived because she was exploring with him and went ahead to a boat dock."

It's also possible that what was written in Eva's diary was, "Yasu bribed me to help set up a murder mystery game, but it all went wrong and people thought it was real, and started killing in self-defense. I could have stopped it, but I thought the gunshots were part of the game, and I was pretending to be dead the whole time, along with Yasu. Yasu committed suicide after leaving the bottle, and I left the island in disgrace after blowing up the evidence to protect the reputations of the dead."

And don't forget the classic, "It just looked like a CLOCK. How were we supposed to know?"

Ange says something along the lines of "No one's fault?! No one's fault?!" This could mean that there's a real killer, and Eva tried to make it look as if it was no one's fault, causing Ange endless misery. It could also mean that it really was no-one's fault.

The latter was my speculation from the fifth episode onwards, and solidified by the sixth.
