Manga 'Kakushigoto' is getting a TV anime adaptation. Coming 2020.

Seems like being mangaka seems to be better for mental health then teaching. Itoshiki still seems completely right in head, but at least he doesn't try kill himself anymore.

The story started with... the ending? We know Hime won't find out about her father's job until she turns 18 so there won't be much suspense on that front. Well, this is Kumeta, so I expect the story, or rather the character's discussions to go into all kinds of directions. I'm also not sure what to think about the implication Goto might be dead.

Anyway, that was fun. I know it's been written some time ago, but the editor saying he's there to make sure the author doesn't draw what he wants because authors that became popular often grow complacent and end up failing with their next manga applied completely to Masashi Kishimoto. And lots of other mangaka I'm sure, but he's really become a prime example.

Hmm, good. I think it was good enough. This seems to be the depressing season of sequels and crap, so something that isn't either is really good.
That said, since the humor is pretty similar to his other works, it felt like an extension of Zetsubou Sensei. Heck, I'm pretty sure the protagonist's voice is the same.

Anyhow, I'm looking forward to this. OP/ED are nice too.

That was a fun start. The OP and ED were good so it seems like I'll be sticking with this

BTW, for the people that didn't realize, the manga-ka that appeared in the episode is a reference to the real Fujita Kazuhiro, who drew Ushio and Tora and Karakuri Circus.
Also, the real one is bald(ing?).

Also, not a direct reference, but as you may know, the whole "Not letting the author write what he wants"... *points to Naruto's author*
I actually think that got cut off recently.

They gave his name as "Fujita Katsuhiro". It's not like they were trying to make it hard to guess who it was supposed to be.

But I'm pretty sure they are on good terms.
He even drew an illustration for the anime

I assume he wouldn’t have written him in as a joke if they weren’t on good terms!

I don't know - the manga world is pretty small, I would imagine that sort of thing would get you blackballed pretty quickly.

Yeah, I have a hard time remembering a mangaka openly criticizing (or worse) another. They may make fun of each other in their manga, but it's never mean spirited.
