You need to unlock routes in Imouto no Okage de Motesugite Yabai? I wasn't aware of that. Unless it was a story heavy game say like Kitto, Sumiwataru Asairo Yori mo (it's linear, but you can skip chapters with a save data, that's besides the point anyway, plus I don't have a better example except KEY games), normally I'd just use a save data and jump into the route I want to read first. The *she* you mentioned is the imouto route correct? I went straight for her and I'm still near the beginning of her route.

Is there any important info in the other routes that acts like a bonus to understanding the backstory (if there is one) like how WithRibbon did it with Hina+Kasumi?

Yes: Four routes are available from the beginning. One additional route afterwards and after clearing that route, there are two sub-routes (I think they are sub routes because it's 1 h-scene for each of those heroines in contrast to the other five according to the 100% savegame). Oh and yup, the *she* is our dear imouto .

As for your 2nd question: To my shame I don't remember much about your Hina+Kasumi example . But, I would say the most important background information about the applied ritual is mentioned in Kanae's route way towards the end. Again, this has something to do with how the VN is structured (if you look at the walkhrough) as Kanae's route is chronologically the last of the four you can access. Maybe there's more during the fifth heroine route, but I'm still on it.

Thanks for the info, I'm still not sure if I'll read through Kanae's route even though she's supposably the main heroine. It's still a 50/50 for me, she's yet to impress me, likewise with Maina. Miya I plan to ignore (not my type) however, Aoba I will definitely read through. Like almost all the time with me, the characters are more important than the actual story.

It's nothing too special, but just in case I'll spoiler it:
Spoiler for WithRibbon Hina route Kasumi info:

Hentai Ouji to Warawanai Neko - Tsukiko, Azusa and Tsukushi completed.
- I don't know why, but similar with Sakurasou there's not that certain something to make you giddy or go *awww* or stuff like that as in your usual pc visual novel. And this has seriously nothing to do with the ero because Mashiro-iro on PSP had that smile-provoking "magic as did the all-age version of Da Capo 3
- Confessions felt a bit lacking, but a kiss-cg made more or less up for it
- Fukukaichou = one of the most dislikable characters of the title (be it galge or anime/LN)
- If I should rank the route order: Azusa > Tsukiko > Tsukishi, which is somehow a surprise as Tsukiko was in the anime my most fav. character.
- I don't feel like playing Emi's route as she has a similar rude behavior than Fukukaichou

Oh well, back to Eroges: Did by chance anyone play the latest Feng title?
Otherwise, I may try out Sakura Mau Otome no Rondo. Yes, it has a trap protagonist, but the CGs look very lovely and the append scenario with the MC's sister is sweet.

Just finished Maina's route from Imouto no okage de mote sugite yabai. The character, the artwork, the voice acting, just wowed me. The artwork piqued my interest but with it's title,, I thought it might be comedy and ero heavy, I was wrong. It's surprisingly well done, Maina's route felt like it was all about her, even in the ero scenes. Throughout her route, her personality was cute, basfully beautiful, endearing, I don't know what to say, it was just a stunningly lovable portrayal of a heroine I thought. Thought the ero scenes with her were extremely tasteful and true to her character as well. I say this, because I almost always get enough of a heroine after a few of the ero scenes.

Didn't think much about the story, but the final scenes managed to work me up a little bit and then provide a rather unexpected dose of catharsis, which I haven't felt so strongly outside of Key works, so I must say, "Very nice job, Hulotte!". Also there was a pretty good job of creating a bond between the club members, really unexpectedly well done. I even found myself liking Ejirou senpai a little bit.

I don't know what it is, but even if I get interested in a heroine, usually I don't get hung up on them, sometimes they're too tsun or dere in a scene which breaks the "illusion" for me, which kind of works to one's favor if the'yre moving on along the different routes. But Maina's really gotten me hung up! Her character is so well balanced, I'm so hung up I'm making a post, (Reading VNs is such an introverted hobby...), I think Maina's become possibly my most favorite character of all time. The art didn't hurt either, that smile!

Come to think of it, most of the heroines seem to have their heads on straight. Although I really felt interest in only two of them so far. Aside from Maina, Meguri seems quite nice, complex perhaps. Miya is so quiet she seems kind of weird, but not so weird that I can take it as a gag like Sarina sensei. I think I might have a hard time getting through her route. Aoba is too ukiuki for me, Kanae who seems like the main heroine doesn't have much of my interest yet. The airhead thing makes her seem a little unoriginal at first glance.

Music is above average, memorable and good when it counts. Love the deeper voice for Maina, the way her voice sinks during a tsukkomi is a nice a touch. Meguri's VA also doing a good job of being pretty neutral pitch wise yet sounding cute. The changes in intonation are really well done for both. Still withholding judgement for the others.

So far, seems like a really nice eroge that does a good job of maintaining the integrity of the heroines. Really love the focus on the heroine and not much else in Maina's route. Wish some of the scenes were a bit more extended, the date scenes especially, the ero scenes were about right, maybe a little long for some scenes. Only one route, but easily the most memorable VN in recent time for me already. Good vn if you're more interested in the heroines.

I've begun playing Deardrops. It's quite good. My biggest problem at the moment is that I don't want to have to choose between the girls! Why can I only get one at a time? They're all wonderful!

I've given up on Imouto no Okage de Motesugite Yabai, there just isn't enough to keep me interested on learning about the story... After reading through Aoba's and Meguri's route (which didn't make sense to me, but I think I need to know Kanae's route to understand it), I had enough of the game, although I did sample Maina's route. Hulotte's previous game WithRibbon was so much more interesting for me than Imouto Yabai. Even though Hulotte has maintained the style and quality of their art (one of my favorite styles), I was disappointed with the story.
Weird coincidence btw..... Out of Hulotte's two games, it was the mini/extra route that had my favorite character.

Does Sakura Mau Otome no Rondo play out just like Otoboku? That's the only trap protag game I've played and I quite enjoyed it.

I've started Chiisana Kanojo no Serenade a few days ago and I'm liking it so far, the main heroine is so freaken adorable. Not sure what the story is about yet, I'm still on the common route, something about mermaids perhaps? It keeps getting mentioned...

Oh gosh! Don't remind me of that game! Kanade is just too damn sweet that it was painful to reach the ending of her story. I wanted more!

I recently finished "Tsuyokiss NEXT", and it was really enjoyable.

All the characters for the game were AWESOME. Also the protagonist (Nagi) isn't some useless retard; you piss him off, he gets you back 10 fold =D. There wasn't really anyone in the game that I didn't like, with the except of the antagonist who appears in the true route of the game. Neko-senpai was my fave of the heroines XD.

The game's setting is very similar to Majikoi's. They even have the class rivalry thrown in there. But I liked it ^^.

The routes all followed a similar pattern, but it still was quite interesting. You have the characters growing closer, with some minor drama added to shake things up. I was a little disappointed because there wasn't really any solid confession scene in any of the routes =(. However the latter part of each route focuses almost solely on romance and comedy, which I loved.

The "true" route for the game started off in a strange way; to be honest it was actually quite stupid. However the rest of the route contained an interesting combination of internal conflict, schemes and joining forces to save the day.

OVerall a very nice game. A bit disappointed that a few of the girls didn't get routes. However given that the original tsuyokiss had 2 sequels, I'm have my fingers crossed ^^.

Gentlemen, I need help identifying this visual novel. I'm going to give a somewhat precise description of a picture from the work and other details around it.

The picture has two people in it. Obviously a boy and a girl. The girl, a silver-haired loli with twin tails who's a loli due to magic apparently, was kissing the boy. The girl was wearing knee socks and she was on top of something to kiss him. The boy had a surprised expression. The picture was set around in the middle of the night and outdoors. The visual novel also had a black-haired heroine with long hair.

... Perhaps that's a tad bit vague...

1) I missed for With Ribbon a real route for the class rep who had obviously a huge crush for the MC. Plus, an optional route for the teacher. Those short stories were hardly enough to satisfy that wish.

2) I haven't played Otoboku. I just started playing Sakura Mau and the basic premise is that our dear MC first enrolled at a boy school (after his imouto and he returned back to Japan) and gets shortly after his introduction to class dragged to the daughter school - an all-girl-school - to attend together with his cute imouto, who has a weak-ish body and her mother and grandma don't feel well with letting her attend school all alone by herself. Apparently, he also needs to attend to the boy school's classes from time to time, but the very beginning hasn't touched upon it, yet.
Based on the character pages at the website the best friend of the all-boy school counts to the named side characters, so it should happen sooner or later.

As usual, perhaps, the MC appears to look better in crosdress appearance than in his normal one You have a childhood friend for Yuri, the imouto, and likely due to her health issue and Aoi's , the MC, "siscon" worries there's by now no childhood friend for him as he had hardly friends when he had gone to school priorly.

After all this time, I finally found it. The name of the VN is Kiss to Maou to Darjeeling. And after a closer look, the loli is actually blond. Thanks for the help though, guys.

I've decided to put Chiisana Kanojo no Serenade on hold... NOTHING happens in this game, it's so damn boring! I probably only laughed like 3 or so times during the whole common route, that's a big red flag for me. Out of curiosity I held ctrl through the route I chose to go through first... "what the? you're jumping into bed with her already?" Ya, I had enough... The script is not to my taste, I can't even tolerate it long enough to finish a route. Karin is probably the only saving grace for me, she's the most amusing. Will get back to this game later.

I know really, it's a shame that Airi didn't have a proper route, just a damn tease CG... For a side character, her personality, seiyuu acting, and artwork were really top notch. And as you mentioned, there were enough (many?) hints that she liked the MC. Again... such a tease Hulotte.

Thanks for the info on Sakura Mau not sure then I'll get around to playing it, I've currently gone back to another game I had on hold that I've already started.

OOOHH I played that, I read through Yuuna's and Lyceri's route only, avoided the main route since I didn't care for the girl. The story has such an interesting setup, wish it could've been used a bit more though... Maybe the main heroine's story does that? I don't know. Although, I was satisfied with the routes I've read, the characters were interesting.

I agree with you; the game is very bland. I started it a couple of days ago, but no wow factor. Will give it a couple more hours, but I'll most likely drop it

Yeaa, for as much fun as I had reading through Maina's route, the scenario was pretty non-existant. Throughout the routes, enjoyment of the game seemed to bank solely on liking the heroines and reading about them, getting enjoyment in their reactions/mannerisms. Which was great during Maina's route, since I liked her so much, but became a chore during Aoba's route. Every route seemed to share a lot of the same scenes, just swap out the heroine. Which kind of takes the suspense out after you read a couple routes, since you know what to expect. I like the approach of focusing on the girls instead of the plot though, if I don't like a character, yea, the route gets a little boring, but it gives me the chance where if I do like one of the girls, I get a lot of enjoyment for even pretty ordinary scenes like bentou scenes.

The art is consistently great, I dare say I get the feeling now that when I watch current anime, that it looks kind of dated! Similar to how I feel about current anime and stuff 10 years ago.

I like the premise of the MC turning himself into a hunk to get the girls, If they kept it so that he had to attract the girls through his own power, all the embarrassing funny conversations/scenes would have been a hilarious riot.

Hard to say the game is as amazing as I thought it was earlier. I thought if they got me to like Maina so much, they should probably be able to do the same with the other characters. While Miya and Kanae's routes were even a little bit more dramatic and sweeter with their plots and confessions, none of the other routes did much for me. I guess it's all about the girl.
