i can't wait for weezer's new cd. i think feist's the reminder was good. she came to st. louis but i didn't get to see her.
and i have to add one of my favorite french singers Carla Bruni, which is shockingly married to French President Sarkozy, but she released a whole album in english and it was great. what was even more inventive is that she based her songs on english poetry.. it's definitely relaxing good music. Just got the triple CD compilation from Faith no More, "the Works", ok the songs are not new, but they are still solid pieces of rock/music history, imo. People who missed out on Faith no More during the (80s &) 90s, younger folks especially, should definitely go out and get it. For a £10 it is an absolute bargain, hint: the 3rd CD features live tracks from the Live at Brixton record. The compilation covers most, not all, of their best tracks, and probably best recommended for people who never heard of them.

If we're talking compilations: All albums by Gas (all out of print) are being reissued on the 6th of June as a 4-disc boxset: Nah und Fern. I only know Pop so far, which is more than amazing. I'm very excited to hear the rest.
Oh, and anyone who doesn't dislike Metal a lot should definitely try the new album by Esoteric, The Maniacal Vale. Pretty much the best doom metal album I've ever heard.

Shinedown - The Sound of Madness
2008 just keeps getting better and better. Shinedown has their new album out soon, I've heard pretty much all the songs and its awesome. My favorite album of theres in my opinion. The songs are very melodic but in a heavy rock kind of tone and the lyrics of each song are just great(typical Shinedonw fashion).
