It certainly doesn't feel that way some days. It's like every other battle has like 4-5 60%'ers on the other team and my team has all the 42% botters sometimes.

I know right? However server numbers don't exactly lie. For example, if I run your profile on WOT news, it's very likely your stats will put you in that 1% Mow. There are just days that MM hates you I suppose.

To put things in perspective, apparently there are only 4% in the total population with a higher WR than I have, which is very surprising. That said, when said 4% is still more than 5k people...

Makes you wish that there's a seasonal reset and tiering in the game ala Starcraft 2 huh?

heh, i tried to play tier Vs before, i played heavies so long i forgot how to play the mediums i have at tier V, and it got worst now that they nerfed derps. which is a bad and good thing, bad thing meaning heavies can troll, good thing is that no more one shotted by derps.

Well, my day ended with 200k credit profit and 300k more from the event (500k in total), along with 28 victories over 36 battles, finally got into true 53% (53.04% exactly) andf I passed the 6000 battles mark. Got the turret in the King Tiger and I can say that it really makes a difference, and I'm about to go down the soviet TD line (since I have the SU-85 researched).

I had an oddly bad experience with the SU-100. Either I was bad at playing it or I had the worst luck ever with teams, because my winrate with it is 33%. For me the line really got good starting with the SU-152, which should be played with the titular 152 mm gun and preferably with HEAT (which has 250 pen!). Seriously, *constantly* slapping 700 HP off of enemies with a tier 7 TD is a breathtaking experience.

Never tried the tiers below 6, but I heard the SU-85B is OP for tier 4.

yeah i got that 300k creds that UTE got, but i wasn't even trying since i was just playing per usual.

i moved my KV 1 crew into the ST I, then i'll move my IS 6 crew into the IS 4 when i get it. then i will prolly move one of my russian crews to the IS 6 and replace the rus tank crew from the tank i moved to the IS 6. thats alot of moving.

i think angel or someone gave me the toaru music pack for WoT, then Pen gave me the Mikoto Misaka voices, still mixed in with GUP mods like the reload voice is from GUP, tankmen are GUP or mainly GUP, and then login screens are some GUP and others.

85B is OP for its tier, if u can hide and snipe pretty well wit it, as for the 152s i hate fighting those tanks, they take out almost 1/4th or 1/3 of my hp every shot they land on me... so i either make it bounce/miss/or absorb it. the only downside would be if you stay out too long after shooting the 152, ur dead, i've seen that happen, which is the downside of most derps.

Had a training session with my Clan earlier today, where we practiced high speed driving. This morning's training was actually quite okay, except that I got lost and went wildly off-course, lol.

Also, having problems intialising voice chat. The game gives me an error message that it's unable to initialise voice chat due to firewall, but I didn't have this problem in 8.6. Should I uninstall and clean install?

Annnnnd I have the Crusader, yay! I kinda made a mistake though; my plan was to work up to the 75mm HV, since I had a spare, and immediately mount it.... except that I accidentally sold my spare 75mm HV. Oh, well. How does Voice Chat work?

Why do I sound loud or distorted to other people?

You may find that some other programs require you to turn on the +10 mic boost in your Windows audio preferences. Voice does not require this and you may need to disable it.

To disable +10 mic boost enter your Windows volume control panel. Make sure the "Advanced Controls" option is selected in the "Options" menu. After this is selected you will need to select Options -> Properties from the menu and select the "Recording" option. While there, make sure that "Show Microphone" is checked, then click "OK". You will see an "Advanced" button below your microphone volume slider. Click this button and uncheck the +10 mic boost box from the following screen.

What ports does Voice use?

By default, Voice uses UDP port 5060, 5062 and 3478.

How can I be sure my headset is working correctly?

On Windows machines, there is a Sound Hardware Test Wizard available in Sounds and Audio Devices in the Control Panel. With this wizard you can record and playback your voice, verifying that your mic and headphones are working.

In several games that our voice product is in there is an Echo Test available. The Echo Test allows you to test your voice setup locally and listen to how other people hear you. You will find the echo test usually under the Audio tab. The test will play a voice prompt when it starts and after that you should hold your push-to-talk key (if any) to hear yourself.

I got an error message that said "SIP transaction timed out", what do I do?

This usually means that the voice system can't communicate using the protocol port meant for voice over IP. Internet protocols designate certain communication ports on your computer for certain functions, and port 5060 is designated for voice over IP, with additional ports beginning with 5062 and moving up at increments of 1 being used if 5060 is not available. Generally this error message means that some device (like a firewall, or security software) is not allowing access to the required port, and that Voice is unable to contact the SIP proxy on port 5062. Because of the high probability that port 5060 may not be available, Voice is designed to attempt to use alternative VoIP port 5062 first. Verify that ports 5060, 5062 UDP (The SIP port) are available. The problem could be caused by a firewall interfering with the connection. Try turning off your firewall. If that fixes the problem, then open the following ports on the firewall:

Ports 12000-29999 - UDP - for voice media (RTP/RTCP)
Port 80 and 443 - TCP - for Web server (HTTP/HTTPS)
Ports 5060 and 5062 - UDP - for voice control signals (SIP)
Ports 3478 and 3479 - UDP - to aid in setting up voice with NAT (STUN)
I got an error message that said "Initialize failed (The underlying connection was closed: The remote name could not be resolved)", what do I do?

This error usually means that your computer is not online, or that your network connection has dropped and has been re-established. To fix the problem, you need to:

1. Fully exit

2. Make sure that your network connection is functioning, and;

3. Restart

Occasionally Voice will hang in this state when a network connection is dropped/re-established (e.g. when switching wireless networks). The fix is to fully exit Voice (by exiting), confirm a functioning network connection, and restart.

Why is my audio quality bad?

Poor audio quality can be caused by a lack of bandwidth or CPU. Ensure that there are no bandwidth intensive applications, such as BitTorrent or Limewire running on your network.

You may also want them to check their Task Manager to ensure resource availability (i.e. CPU usage below 100%).

Hardware issues such as a poor microphone connection can also degrade audio quality.

I can't hear anything at all and/or no one can hear me, what should I do?

Try the following troubleshooting tips:

1. Please, make sure that you have pressed the Talk button

2. Check the input/ output serviceability

3. Please, make sure that the microphone and the headsets are plugged in appropriate inputs

4. Please, make sure that the sound is not muted or minimized. If it didn't help, please check the volume mixer on your computer. Please, make sure that the sound is not muted or minimized.

5. Consider disabling your firewall. If it didn't help, please, open the following ports in the firewalls

- Incoming UPD: 5060, 5062, 3478

- Outgoing TCP: 80 и 443

- Universal UDP: 12000 – 17000

6. Please, run the program while not in the peak load.

If none of the above work, please contact your Game Support group, or Email Vivox Support.

Why can I hear, but other people can't (or the other way around), and how do I fix the problem?

First step would be to verify that your headset is working properly.

Please refer to "I can't hear anything at all and/or no one can hear me, what should I do?" for more troubleshooting tips.

My voice chats keep getting dropped, what can I do?

Dropped calls can often be due to home router firmware bugs. Upgrading the firmware of the router and/or rebooting the router will sometimes fix the problem.

VoIP protocols don't function correctly in networks that include some types of NAT transversal or firewall components. The result is that calls can have one-way audio or fail. One-way audio usually results from a double NAT issue or an unfriendly NAT transversal being used on the network. VoIP itself presents a problem for NAT because the normal protocols it uses deal with the signaling and establishing of the connection.

Notes:

Note that Running Xfire while playing disables Voice keyboard bindings. A workaround for this is to use the middle mouse button as your talk key.

Voice says it's having trouble connecting...what should I do?

Two features commonly found in consumer routers are SIP ALG (application level gateway) and SPI Firewall (stateful packet inspection firewall). While both of these features are meant to enhance the functionality of the router (better SIP translation of NAT addressing and some additional security features), they can interfere with the processing of Voice-over-IP SIP protocol.

When changes to firmware are made, it is nearly impossible to test all possible network environments in which the router will be used. It is common to find problems in early versions of router family firmware depending on where the original firmware was implemented. As users report issues, development responds therefore making the most recent firmware your best bet. Adding to the difficulty in management, both of these firmware features are also "black boxes" as they can only be enabled or disabled and generally have no other visible configuration options.

The best recipe for a problematic router is:

1. Make sure the router is running the very latest firmware from the manufacturer.
2. Starting with the default settings (SIP ALG on, SPI Firewall on, and no special forwarding rules) test voice
3. If voice doesn't work reliably, try turning off SIP ALG first (if possible)
4. If voice still doesn't work reliably, try turning off SPI firewall as well (if possible)
5. If voice still doesn't work, consider testing voice with an alternate router or by connecting the computer directly to the cable/dsl router.

If voice works when directly connected but not behind the router, it is quite possible that the router does not correctly pass VoIP SIP traffic. Options at this point include contacting the router vendor support channel, or testing with an alternate router.

Disabling SIP ALG has no security implications. Disabling SPI firewall will change the security profile of the router somewhat but the fundamental blocking of Internet initiated requests by virtue of the NAT feature will still be present. If leaving SPI firewall disabled is a concern, be advised that newer routers often handle SIP traffic better, learning from issues found with their ancestors.

So i missed why you quit/break from WoT... is it school?

Well IT isn't easy to learn depending which field you go. If you want to learn programming the easiest is Power shell C++ is harder and linux is to confusing cause your on your own when you mod your scripts. Its a long process. their IT auditor which means you need to learn the laws relating to IT and review and refine company policies. IT security is similar but focuses on security. Then you the regular IT like help desk and differ admins.

Meh GL on finishing IT. I had to go to college almost 6 yrs cuz i messed up my major... went into biz management then into IT..... although i did have transferred creds so i finished a year early than most of the ppl i start with IT... my results is 2 assocs and 1 bachelors.

Oh for those who're wondering, I uninstalled WOT in preparation for a clean re-install. Won't get to actually re-installing until MAYBE Friday, but hopefully I can test out if a "vanilla" fresh install suffers the same sort of crashes the modded WOT I had been used was experiencing.

The SU-85 is quite painful to go through since it has the same armor as the T-34 and is not likely to offer much protection in Tier V-VI matches so you'll want to keep well out of the way.

It shouldn't take long to move up to the SU-100 though and it seems like a bit more of an upgrade especially with the 122mm.

I enjoyed it quite a bit way back in the beta but when I went through it again recently it wasn't quite what I remembered and once your spotted not even that sloped frontal armor can save you.

I'm not too far off buying the SU-152 though I'm probably going to wait until I have enough cash for its upgraded modules before I actually buy it. Once I do I'll probably give the 152mm a good outing before trying the other guns.

That was what I re-enacted with an enemy King Tiger, in a match that came down to the wire.

My final kill shot was done with HE. Not APCR, High-Explosive. Definitely one of the most nail-biting matches I've had, yet.

See this is why IT ppl hate end users and think of employees as idiots and uneducated when it comes down to computers. No matter how it is explained or detailed the solution they don't a crap hey just want IT to fix their computer.

When i play the SP i seem to get dmg alot despite front facing the direction of the incoming shells. But yeah the SP is still a great tank despite if it got nerfed or not.
