“How much longer?” Vivio whined.

“At least an hour, still,” Lutecia answered, then sighed and looked at the other girl. “I told you we could play cards to pass the time, but noooo, you wanted to just sit here and watch.”

“Well they would have gotten wet because of you!” Vivio protested. “Honestly, you should have brought an umbrella before coming over, as you knew it was going to rain!”

The summoner looked suitably embarrassed but, continued to watch. “So, was this something your mothers showed you?”

Vivio shook her head and grinned. “Actually I learned it from Yuuno, although he did later show my mamas.”

Lutecia looked around. “So where are they, anyway? Is it really just us here?”

“Fate-mama is out on Chrono's spaceship for something, and Nanoha-mama said she'd be out working late,” Vivio replied, then sighed as she looked at the clock.

Silence descended then, as the pair sat there and watched, partially enjoying the heat, but also mouths watering at the unique aroma. Lutecia began tapping her fingers on the floor, and Vivio started whistling. Lutecia commenced spinning pennies, while Vivio produced a stapler and began clicking the staples out of it.

The front door opened and closed, and Nanoha came into the kitchen, greeting the pair, then taking a whiff. “Mmm, smells good! What exactly are you making?”

Vivio sighed and pointed. "It's taking sooooo long!"

Curious, Nanoha bent down behind them and looked through the oven window as well. “Oh my, that's what the delicious smell is. I know the waiting can be bad, but it will be that much more worth it when you can delve into the sweet taste of hot and ready peach pie.”

The two girls stared at her.

Nanoha blinked. “What?”

I agree, I'm very impressed! I had originally put in that list of random things just to amuse myself and see how RB was going to handle it, and I must say, both of you integrated the random items very well into your shorts! ^^

Okay, this is the fanfiction thread: If I decide that I want to perceive Precia as a kindly mother, or Nanoha as a homicidal maniac, that's my privilege, because fanfiction is all about personal perspectives anyways. If I read someone else's interpretation of the characters (in a story or a joke) and I don't agree with what they're saying, I just ignore it or make a small, polite observation about it . Really, unlike the other threads, the fanfiction one is "anything goes", because no one's wrong here.

So can we please all respect each others' viewpoints and continue on?

Another drabble from me.

Not a funny one though.

Cracking an eye open, all she could do was look around her cell, nothing had changed, she honestly hadn't figured out anything that was going on, so quiet. Maybe someone would finally come to visit her today? Maybe. She doubted it. No one even bothered to try and remember her. How long had she been here? A month? A year? It was a long time now.

There wasn't even enough space in this room to move around in, just so cramped. This was her punishment for not talking when she was given the choice, her punishment for working for the wrong side and getting caught, her punishment for even existing. As much as she wanted to, she could only feel numbness throughout her body. She couldn't even recall the last time she ate or moved from her spot. Maybe she should ask?

No, they had told her when they threw her in here that she was to never request anything, never ask for anything, they'd give her everything she needed. Looking at her prison suit, she would have sighed, but she lacked the energy to do that. It was getting pretty dingy and dirty lately, maybe someone would finally look in at her?

It became more and more obvious to her that no one was going to check on her. At least a meal was delivered to her through the slot in the door, dropping on top of the other uneaten meals that she hadn't touched. Moving seemed too hard.

Her vision started to fade to black as she toppled over. Maybe she should try to move?

"You never even tried to check up on her health?" An angry voice was screaming, why was it screaming?

"She never gave us a reason to, besides, she's got a life sentence."

"Considering how you mistreated her..." Weird, were people... Worried? No, it couldn't be. No one had cared enough before.

"Hey, she's the one who didn't move for the past few weeks."

"You didn't even try to give her clean clothes or check on her to see if she needed anything."

"She never said anything. We can't read her mind!"

"Get out of here." Weird, she could... Almost feel something now.

"What a mess..." That voice... It was kind, gentle, worried... She didn't open her eyes, it might be just a dream. Suddenly she felt a hand on her face rubbing softly while something warm, wet and soft rubbed her body. What was going on? "You're lucky that I decided to check on your prison today, Sette."

Sette? Oh, right, her name.

"You should speak up when you need something." The doctor lectured her softly.

She didn't say anything as she was gently cleaned. She didn't want to.

Tomorrow she'd be back in that small cell, today she just wanted to relish the feeling of someone actually touching her and treating her kindly.

For Raiser, since I was bored this morning and figured I haven't worked on this in a while. Heres another small part for you (dont kill me for this one)

Parts 1-6

Morning came by almost too soon. I slowly opened my eyes and reached out for the clock. I couldn't see it rather well so I had to set it at the right distance.

"6:45" my mind read it "I guess I should get up." I stretched my arms above my head slowly before realizing that there was another arm draped over my chest. "What the?!" my mind suddenly began to reach full speed. I looked over to my left and noticed another being next to me. I stiffened a little bit trying to recall last night's actions, but my mind was really fuzzy.

The body next to me was obviously female and judging from how her hair color was practically the same as mine...any idiot could deduce that this was Fate (no not that one).

"Ok, stay calm Yuuno" I told myself "think...what happened last night?" my mind began to race and break though the fog. "I was handing Fate some clothes to change into after she came from her house soaking wet. I made her some warm cocoa. I...sat down with her and talked...I hugged her once in comfort..." my mind started to get fuzzy "I think she wanted something strong...so I think I brought out the alcohol...and then..." everything fuzzed from there.

Fate began to stir a little bit, to my panic, before going back to sleep

"I dont know what happened but..." I made up my mind "I had better apologize" I nodded to myself "But first..." I looked at my predicament "how the hell am I supposed to escape from bed?"

I slowly started to edge my way closer to the side of the bed, but the more I tried to pull away, the more Fate pulled me closer.

"I wonder if this is one of her sleeping habits." I smiled wryly looking at her "In any case I have to get out of here...or else she might scream bloody murder when she wakes up."

Taking the chance...I lifted her arm off me slowly and shifted my body away while replacing it with my pillow. As if on reflex, when she came in contact with it, she pulled it close to her body and snuggled.

"Whew~" I wiped my forehead "One crisis avoided" I slowly made my way to the kitchen to start the coffee. "Alright I need to try to remember what happened." I started warming up the house and cooking some breakfast while I thought, but all that did was delay my thought process and the inevitable fact that I didn't remember a damn thing about last night.

A little while later, sounds started to come from the bedroom and the fact I have been dreading to face all morning drawing ever closer

"Hey..." she smiled softly at me while stretching at the doorway

"H-hi..." I greeted weakly while turning back to my breakfast preparation "Shit" I cursed myself "what the hell do I do now?!" I set the plates down on the table and handed her some coffee nervously

"Ne, Yuuno..." she began

"Oh shit, here it comes" I panicked

"...about last night"

"I'm sorry!" I blurted out, much to her surprise. "I don't remember what happened last night!" I bowed my head to her "Even though it might have been the influence of the alcohol we had, it doesn't change the fact that I did it. Understand that if I were of sane mind I would never--"

"What are you talking about?" she interrupted me with a puzzled look on her face

"Well...um...you know" I started looking every other direction but right in front of me "last night we were talking, and umm...we got drunk...and this morning and--"

Catching what I was getting at, Fate began to smile evilly.

"Come to think of it" she narrowed her eyes "you were pretty stiff last night"

"Eh?! Stiff?!" I looked at face with shock and fear written on my own "I-I..."

"It did kind of hurt you know..."

"I'm sorry!" I was honestly panicking and fearing for my life.

"I hope you take responsibility for this..." she looked down at her plate saddened

"I will! I promise!" I blurted out the next thing that came to my mind. "If Hayate and the others find out about this I am SO dead" I knelt on the floor in front of her and bowed my head to the ground "I'm so sorry!!"

"Pff..keh..ahahahahahahaha~!" She started bursting into laughter. She started laughing so hard she could barely keep herself seated

"...?!" I slowly raised my head to the laughing blond sitting at the table "Fate...-san?" I had half a mind to reach out and see if she was ok "oh great, shes broken"

"Ahahahaha...that was...haha...that was very nice Yuuno" she started to wipe the tears from her eyes "I know you wouldn't do anything like that" she smiled at me "if anything I should be the one to apologize to you for making you stay with me." she bowed lightly "I'm sorry, Yuuno"

"Hey don't worry about it" I gave her my best smile (even if it was clumsy from all the shock she just put me through) "I'm just glad you are ok and that nothing happened" I sighed

"Hmm~" she looked back mischievously at me "are you saying you would have wanted something to happen?"

"Of course not!" I got back up a little embarrassed as she continued to laugh at me "its alright I guess" I glanced back at her while heading back to the kitchen to get the rest of breakfast "she looks best smiling"

"Ah~" she sighed as she finally calmed down "thanks Yuuno" she smiled genuinely "that really made my morning." she picked up her chopsticks "So what is for breakfast?"

"Hai, hai" I brought the dishes in and placed them on the table "breakfast for the princess coming right up..."

I think Fate was laughing because Yuuno assumed they had sex even though they didn't. Yuuno probably just spent the night and that was all.

I just recently wrote a poem after reading a three part "summary" (I guess you could call it that) regarding the incident that caused Nanoha to be gravely injured which was only slightly described in episode 9 of StrikerS. Let me know what you guys think of it. (Sorry if it's in the wrong thread).

Lost Chances:

When we first met, we were enemies

Yet despite that, you tried to become friends with me.

You, being a nine year old girl

Who just happened to stumble across magic by accident.

When I was abandoned by who I thought was my mother

You extended out your hand to bring me out of the despair and darkness I was surrounded in

Your hand, which was soft and warm

Your smile and laughter that kept me smiling and happy

Your heart, gentle and kind

Full of sincerity and love.

Before I left we exchanged ribbons

This became proof of our friendship.

A few years later, we became involved in another incident

Involving a very dangerous Lost Logia

Though it proved to be challenging

We gained another friend as a result.

We told each other of our plans to work for the TSAB

Yet we were going in different fields.

Yet during that one cold winter night, on a reconnaissance mission

You were gravely injured, and I thought I lost you.

It occupied my mind so much that I nearly messed up on my Enforcer exams

Just hearing the news and the condition you were in almost put me in a lot of stress

During the time in which you were lying in the hospital bed, barely moving

Thoughts unbidden began to surface in my head.

I felt I had myself to blame for what happened to you

All I wanted was to hear your voice, your laughter, see you smile…once more.

Yet after I heard that you’ve recovered, my heart was filled with happiness

I almost felt like crying for joy.

Time flies so fast that I didn’t notice.

Yet there was so much I wanted to say to you.

I might never get a chance to tell you this ever again

It doesn’t matter what you might think of me after this.

I just wanted to let you know

Before I lose this chance to say…

Marisa led Nanoha out to her yard. Marisa’s house was located at the edge of a small clearing in the middle of a forest that stretched as far as Nanoha could see. It looked very much like a forest back in the outer world. The house that they just walked out of was a simple one-story thing, with a few windows, and a brown pointed roof, with a chimney perched on top. Vines covered the structure, and Nanoha got a distinct feeling of homeliness from the house. Beside her, Marisa filled her in on the system of magic that Gensokyo mages and youkai used.

“…Because Of Reimu’s importance to Gensokyo, she invented the spell card system to allow youkai to defeat her without killing her.” Marisa talked as they moved into the clearing. “Before, it was more of a ritualized duel, but after a little trip to the moon, and a fight against someone not bound by spell card rules, Reimu allowed more physical aspects to be used in a duel, ze. However the first rule of a spell card battle is non-lethal magic only.”

“That’s fairly similar to how we use magic at home.” Nanoha explained. “At least that’s how I use it. Mid-Childian magic’s effects are based on the user’s intent; and I’ve never had to fight someone with intent to kill.”

“Interesting, ze. I wonder if your magic will work under this system.” Marisa stopped in the middle of the clearing and took out a hand full of cards. “These,” she said displaying them to Nanoha, “are spell cards, ze. They’re a physical manifestation of the spells that a mage would use in combat. Each magician and youkai has a set of spell cards that relate to their specialties, ze. ”

Nanoha picked out one of the cards. It was a rectangular sheet of paper, with writing on both sides. On the front side she recognized the writing as some kind of incantation. On the back side she guessed, was name of the spell with the picture of a rather large rainbow-colored beam. She read it out loud.

“Love Sign-‘Master Spark’”

Marisa grinned. “That’s my favorite one, ze. I specialize in direct confrontation attacks like lasers and direct bullets.” She hefted her broom. “So you want to see what I can do, ze?”

Nanoha smiled. “Sure, if you’re going first…”

Marisa waved her off. “No, no, no, ze. What I mean is,” she pointed her broom at Nanoha. “You and me. Up in the air.” Her grin got wider. “Dueling.”

“Eh!?” Nanoha was surprised at the declaration to say the least. “But we’ve just met, and we don’t know how each other’s magic works! What if we end up hurting each other?”

Marisa sat on her broom and started floating. “You said that your magic doesn’t deal permanent damage, right, ze?”

“Well yeah, but…”

“Then there’s nothing to worry about, ze.” She got off the broom and walked over to Nanoha. “Besides, in a real battle, you won’t always know what your opponent is capable of. Sometimes you have to learn under fire.”

Nanoha thought about it for a little while, then slowly smiled. As far as she could tell with what Marisa had told her, fighting against her would be only slightly different from fighting against a Mid user, and there would be no permanent damage to either party. She held out Raising Heart. “In that case, I accept. Raising Heart, set up!”

During the short transformation, Marisa watched with interest. When Nanoha finished, Marisa whistled. “That was sure something, wasn’t it, ze?”

Nanoha was about to reply that is was nothing, but a voice behind her cut her off from behind.

“Yeah, that was pretty cool.”

Nanoha jumped in surprise and turned around. Standing there was Reimu, with a smirk on her face. “What, you didn’t think I was going to stay in the house with a show about to start, was I?”

Nanoha mouth worked for a little while trying to get something out. “Y-you didn’t have to sneak up on me!”

Reimu looked nonplussed. “Why not? Anyway, you guys were going to start?”

Nanoha looked back at Marisa. She was already above the treetops, looking down at her “Hurry up, ze!”

Nanoha jumped off from the ground. Immediately, pink wings of energy sprouted from her feet.

“Flyer Fin”

As she drew level with Marisa, she saw that she’d already pulled out a card. Marisa smiled. “You ready, ze?”

Nanoha had Raising Heart transform into shooting mode and returned the smile. “Are you?”

Marisa’s grin got even wider. Without preamble, she declared her attack. “Magic Sign ‘Milky Way’!”

Suddenly, the sky was filled with stars. Nanoha’s eyes widened at the sheer amount of them. There was no way she was going to dodge all of them!

“Wide Area Protection”

A translucent sphere wrapped around her, and not a moment too soon. As soon as the barrier closed itself off, countless stars of all sizes began to impact the barrier from all directions. She realized the barrier wouldn’t hold for long as spider web cracks began to form in the sphere. The moment the barrier failed, she was plunged into a mad hailstorm of multicolored stars.

This is insane! Nanoha thought as she whirled around a particularly large star. How can she keep up this barrage for so lo— She was cut off as she was blindsided by a star. The star packed a much larger punch than she realized and she was sent reeling.

“Oof!”

“Come on, is that the best you can do?” Marisa laughed as she sat in the eye of the star formation.

Nanoha shook her head to clear her dizziness and glared at Marisa. She was about to retort, when she saw something that stopped her short. There was a pattern the stars took as they travelled. Every so often, the stars would shift, opening up gaps in the formation. Suddenly feeling confident, Nanoha started to dodge with renewed vigor.

Minimum movements to conserve energy. She thought. Feeling much more confident at dodging the stars, she decided to respond with her own attacks.

“Accel Shooter!”

Six pink balls of energy shot out at Marisa. She wove through them easily and pulled another card.

“Light sign: ‘Ear—OW!”

Something slammed into her back hard, interrupting her spelling. She vectored off her line of flight quickly, and saw five pink shots flash past. As she watched, they slowed down, and re-aimed themselves at her. Homing shots!

She quickly moved out of the way of the shots and threw several bullets of her own at them. As each of her green arrowheads impacted Nanoha’s pink orbs, it released a bright flash of the combined energies of the two shots.

As she destroyed the last of the offending projectiles, she had a sudden premonition of doom. She quickly veered left just as a large pink beam scythed through the space she had occupied milliseconds before. Quickly Marisa looked at the beams point of origin. There, Nanoha had another ball of energy charging.

Marisa smiled slightly. So, she wants a head-to-head? She pulled out her hakkero. Fine, let’s see if she can take on a spark!

“Love Sign!”

Marisa aimed her Hakkero at Nanoha and declared her attack. As her Hakkero began to glow with power, Nanoha did the same.

“Master—”

“Devine—”

“—Spark!”

“—Buster!”

Two beams of destructive power lanced out towards each other. Unfortunately for Nanoha, Marisa’s spark was consuming the distance between its front end and Nanoha as it swallowed up her buster. Up above, Marisa watched as her spark made contact and exploded. Nanoha and the surrounding area was surrounded by a gigantic clout of dirt and debris as the spark annihilated the trees and dirt behind Nanoha. Marisa whistled.

“I thought she could take it, ze.” She lost some altitude to look more closely. “I hope that didn’t end it, ze.”

“Restrict Lock”

Marisa suddenly found herself unable to move her arms and legs. Looking at them she saw glowing pink circles around each limb. What is this, some kind of bind? She thought as she tried to move again. Suddenly noticing a pink glow, she looked down at the dust cloud fearing the worst.

Out of the dust and broken trees, battered, but none the worse for the wear, was Nanoha. Marisa noticed that her clothes had transformed from before. Now, instead of thigh-high socks and a short skirt, she had a long skirt and no bow. Her staff had also transformed, becoming very much spear-like. At the tip of the spear was the source of the glow; a giant ball of energy that continued to get bigger as she watched. Nanoha had a nasty grin on her face.

“Excellion—”

This is going to hurt, ze. Marisa sighed and braced herself for the oncoming holocaust.

“—Buster!”

A much larger pink beam barreled its way towards the bound witch. As it got closer, Marisa judged its strength to be at the level of her Master Spark, or higher. She smiled uneasily. Who is this girl, to live outside the Border, but still have this power?

Then the beam hit, and questions about the outside world were swept away.

As the beam dissipated, Nanoha watched the now limp form of Marisa start to fall to the ground. As Marisa fell, her elation at beating Marisa turned to horror as she realized Marisa didn’t have any way of showing her fall. Panicked, she looked at Reimu who seemed completely unconcerned that her friend was falling to her doom.

“Aren’t you supposed to do something?!” Nanoha shouted at Reimu.

She shrugged. “Her fault for flying so high. Besides, she’s not as out of it as you think.”

Nanoha turned back to watch Marisa’s plummet. Sure enough, not five meters from the ground, Marisa’s hand shot out to grab her broom that had suddenly materialized within arms reach. Her speed fell sharply until she was close to the ground at which she dropped unceremoniously to the ground in a heap. Nanoha ran up to her as she was pulling herself together.

“I’m sorry about that!” Nanoha apologized as Marisa sat up. “I forgot you didn’t have a barrier jacket, I didn’t know that the fall might have killed you…”

Marisa waved off the apology. “Naw, don’t worry about it, ze. I’ve gotten hit with worse before.” As she was waving her arm she grimaced “Ow, ow, ow. I feel like I’m bruised all over. Can you help me up, ze?”

Nanoha smiled and took her hand. As she pulled Marisa up, Reimu walked up to the pair and smiled. “That was a good fight there Nanoha. Your magic style seems fairly compatible with what we have here. Maybe you should try your hand at making spell cards.”

Nanoha laughed sheepishly. “Nyahaha, I just got lucky.”

Marisa laughed. “Naw, don’t be so modest, ze.” She grimaced. “That last shot was pretty good, ze. At least as strong as my Master Spark.”

“Moving on,” Reimu said, “it’s best if we find you lodging sooner than later. Marisa’s house isn’t meant to support sentient life.”

“Hey!”

“Maybe Alice’s house…” Reimu never finished her sentence. Suddenly a low rumble shook the ground. Although the quake lasted only a few seconds, Reimu had frozen in place for about a half minute, during which her face slowly darkened. Nanoha was about to ask her what was wrong before Reimu started up again.

“Change of plans.” She said while turning her back on them. “We’re going to the shrine. If Tenshi or Yukari are fooling around with my shrine again…”

She took off without another word. As they watched her disappear over the trees, Marisa and Nanoha exchanged a glance, then took off after her. Nanoha silently hoped that she wasn’t about to be dragged into anything too big but, she thought, it was starting to look inevitable.

Hello. I'm new here too.

Here's something I wrote after re-watching episodes 11-12-13 of StrikerS.

Hope it's at least understandable.

Spoiler for Running Against Time:

Our problem at the moment was only time.

We needed to get to scene fast.

From what we knew till that moment, one or two relics were found in the city.

One of them was being shipped through a chopper to the base.

Along with a little girl.

The other was lost in the sewers.

We could hear the play-by-play of the battle through our comns.

That didn't help any to soothe our worry.

My movement magic can only do so much.

It isn't teleportation.

Teleportation isn't one of the spell I can perform.

That was just the more reason we needed to hurry.

I took us till a place were we could take off.

It was her turn now.

The battle was getting heated above the ocean.

Even the commander of the unit was going there.

I noticed the restlessness in her ever closed face.

Even if she herself didn't.

We informed the central of our position.

Our orders were to assist the other members.

The aces were going to take care of the air.

Our part of the mission was on the ground.

We departed in the direction informed.

A few moments later we hear a loud explosion.

The chopper was shot by a powerfull beam of energy.

The restlessness in the face of my pink haired companion is now ever more visible.

She looks at the point of the explosion.

I do too.

But from here we can't very much see anything.

She turn her body to direction where we were going before.

She closes her eyes and take a deep breath.

I look at her in confusion.

She takes off, without as much as saying a word.

Worry is growing in my mind.

But I take off after her.

Her hand in griping her sword so strongly that is noticeable.

From my position I can't see her face.

But if I had to bet, I think no one would notice anything in her countenance.

Only those who are close to her.

Her friends.

At that moment we received word from the base.

The chopper was okay.

The Ace of the Aces managed to defend it somehow.

I feel relieved.

So much that I almost collide to a building right in front of me.

At least my magic can be used in these hours.

With a single recite, I pass through it, and come out right behind my companion.

Moments later we see the group we were suppose to help.

They already secured the itens.

Despite having lost the culprits, I am glad that the mission was a sucess.

I look at my side to see her face again.

Relief is writen all over her.

I guess the shock off the thought of losing the chopper was enough.

Her blonde lifetime companion was in that one.

Now that everything is over, she says that we didn't get the chance to act.

I believe we had too much emotions in our little adventure, running through the city.

From worry to relief, almost everything passed through our heads and hearts.

This threat have to end soon.

I can't wait to go back to teaching at the Saint Church.

These adventures are good, but they don't compare to the smiles of the children I get to teach.

Well, maybe one thing do compare.

The smile I see on the face of my colleague right now.

@hideki: I wish I knew Touhou, I'd follow the story, looks interesting and decently written.
