My personal thoughts are that prior to the memory wipe the 2 of them met and it was probably what drove her to help the humans and Izuru to become a hero and join the school even though his memories would be erased.

I would not be surprised if:

1. Cmdr. Simon is Izuru's father or older brother.
2. That Cmdr. Simon is Wulgaru.
3. That Izuru is also Wulguru which is why he will probably be able to rival Jiart and why he's so spaced out all the time.
4. That Theoria knows Izuru because he IS Wulgaru.
5. Cmdr. Simon is Asagi's father instead of Izuru's and he's the one who is Wulgaru.

I think it's expected that Izuru and Theoria are going to be the key to closing the gap between the two species. Yet, if both of them are Wulgaru I don't think the Earth is going to listen. Though I have to say that of the two groups I'd say that the Earth is the more stupid and clueless of the two sides. The Wulgaru are doing as their culture dictates. The Earth Forces are actually going against common sense over and over with idiot commanders in charge.

What is there to listen. Wulgur culture glorifies murder and subjugation of sentients cause some prophesy says so.

If anything it is the Wulgur that botch up first contact shooting first. As they view other races as prey.

Theoria escaped the Wulgur because Jiart is lusting after her. She is likely helping the humans to change her people.

First half:

- Episode starts with incompetent commander blustering in front of reporters who are filming the entire battle
- Fail Five are discussing their new ASHMB panoply, while Asagi is once again battling anxiety and stomach problems
- Big ass laser is fired, doesn't prevent Wulgaru onslaught, which plows through the frontlines
- Very large missiles are fired at the Wulgaru; once again, no tangible effect on target
- Rabbits are launched even as Wulgaru ships forge ahead towards the frontlines
- O hai Team Doberman
- Wulgaru litterally get the drop on the frontlines (attacking from above like Stuka/Helldiver dive bombers)
- Doberman commences counterattack, deals Wulgaru a good amount of losses, forcing them to stop and retreat
- Wulgaru ship has the ability to bend beams and shoot them in a different direction (think Geschmeidig Panzer from Gundam SEED)
- Rabbits move forward and commence enemy wipeout
- Wulgaru prince takes to the battlefield now that an enemy worthy of his attention has shown up
- Red 5's JURIA-System seems to freeze for a moment, just before Jiart engages Izuru in close combat; Izuru seems to hold his own reasonably well
- Each Rabbit's battle becomes messy (they get in each other's line of fire, etc).

Second half:

Spoiler:

- Asagi is temporarily assigned the role of team leader by Izuru, who's a lil' too busy fighting Jiart to think calmly and distribute tasks to the other Rabbits
- Asagi takes to his new role quite well (you might even say he's quite good as a tactician), mounting a successful counterattack (he even seems to RELISH the news of being named leader - possible pride/jealousy issues in the future?)
- Meanwhile, Wulgaru higher-ups are manhandling the GDF fleet
- Well, well, Izuru IS giving Jiart a reasonable run for his money (whatever currency Wulgaru are using >_>)
- Gold unit resupplies on his own ship then returns to the battlefield
- Red 5 is still going toe-to-toe with Jiart (meanwhile, MJP is collecting data in real-time), while the rest of the Rabbits are continuing forward (Asagi has more screentime and opportunities to shine in this episode; he's really making up for being a dead weight in the last couple of episodes)
- Oh. Gold unit has a back-mounted mega cannon
- Asagi receives heavy cannon add-on, while human fleet laser gets ready to fire again
- Laser fires, but STILL NO EFFECT ON TARGET
- Bearded Wulgaru moves forward with his fleet
- Rabbits (minus Izuru) link up with Doberman, while the Wulgaru take out the massive laser, thus ruining the incompetent commander's self-appropriated plan.
- Red 5's chest armor is breached at the apex of the duel, revealing some sort of (biological?) component that Jiart recognizes. The revelation causes Jiart to suddenly stop the duel (Red 5's weapons are busted anyway, if I'm not mistaken) in consternation and leave the battlefield. I guess this mirrors that early episode in Evangelion

Just double-checked with 2ch's screencaps. With their armor/cockpits breached, it looks more like Jiart and Izuru were able to look each other in the face, which means Jiart might have been stunned by the revelation of what a human looks like (remember Nadesico? When humans finally got to see what the Jovians truly looked like - and what the implications were?).

The "bio component" I saw seems to actually be Jiart's translucent cockpit.

EDIT ter: I've completely misunderstood the scene, it seems.

The bio-mechanical part I saw on my crappy streamer was definitely Jiart's cockpit, not Red 5's internals. And Izuru realized Jiart looked like Theoria. Still a bit unsure as to WHY exactly Jiart looked so dumbfounded - maybe it WAS the realization that humans look like Wulgaru and vice versa? It could also be because Izuru practically destroyed Jiart's chestplace - which covers the cockpit-...a feat he didn't expect from his so-called prey.

MMmmh what to do with this ep? Fighting was okay but there was hardly any drama or suspense...

There were only 2 interesting points in this ep

1. Asagi can get it down if he is made leader, seem he performs better if he is depend on or is the "lead"?
2. Alien Prince recognize Izuru? or for the first time saw a "human" and is surprised?

Well, Asagi IS the eldest of them all so he isn't exactly a hopeless tactician. The HUGE problem is the the team's ability to actually work as a team and CONTINUE to do so for the duration of the entire battle. Just look at how Tamaki kept cutting their lines of fire... *sigh*

Now that I have re- and re-re-watched the raws, Jiart was probably more surprised at Izuru's ability to completely damage his mecha's chest area to the point of leaving the cockpit blob unprotected. Doesn't seem like his preys ever managed to achieve such a feat...

Well I just watched the new episode. Why couldn't we have an episode like this sooner? This battle was awesome as hell and it allowed the main five to fully demonstrate all of their weapons (save Purple 2.... Does it even have weapons?). I have to admit the intelligence displayed on both sides made it very interesting, to think I thought this series was the least good of the three mecha series airing right now.
