I felt it dragged a little bit, then that could have been intentional. They need to fit a certain amount of material into a certain amount of episodes, so some resizing and padding may be necessary. I'd rather some parts of this drag, then they insert horrible filler (although some filler can be good if done well, and doesn't reach Naruto-like levels...)

Some interesting reflections of note...

Zero opens a gate. Spirit summoning, eh? Seems like a gate to another world, though, and not the spirit world. That would mean more worlds out there...

Liked Wendy developing her breath attack, heh.

Lucy's clock popped out on it's own, too. And from listening to it, Lucy's power has grown to the point where any of her spirits can do that. That makes Lucy's power even more unpredictable, since she doesn't have to summon. Spirits will just come out to help and defend her.

Ending was expected. Despite situations, Hot Eye and Jellal are still seen as criminals. So they are going to be locked up along with the rest of Orecien Seis. What do you want to bet that this is not the last we're going to see of this dark guild? I'm expecting some prison scenes sometime later...

Odd, I was fine with this episode, pacing-wise. ('Cept for the bit with the narrator at the beginning, but I always hate the narrator.) The music was doing its job great, and there was some nice animation in there.

Yes, that was hilarious. Best anime original scene ever? Because i'm sure i would have remembered if that happened in the manga. Or it did, and it was in the bottom of a panel somewhere.

I seriously doubt it. Nice addition that from the studio team. Kind of makes me hope that we'll see Jellel someday in the manga *wishful thinking*
I don't remember whether Lucy's clock saving her is in the manga though. That part has completely slipped my mind. Love the comedy there when the spirit bambles on about its newly gained abilities. lol.

I rechecked, and lol, the squirrel scene was actually in the manga. A centre panel no less.

But I guess it was pretty easy to miss out, considering that it was done in an unobstructed manner compared to the oh-so-obvious way the anime did it. tldr; everyone was paying attention at Erza's eyes and lips in the manga page to notice.

But the Lucy scene was manga original.

Yeah, I noticed the squirrels, too, and given what Erza seemingly was about to say before being interrupted, it does seem to lend credence to the idea that Erza does hold a love for Jellal.

I don't think she would have been so obessed with Jellal otherwise if she was not romanticly interested in him

Well I don't blame council for wanting to lock Jellal up... they do have a point.
Yes Jellal did lose his memories but as he himself mentioned, those memories can come back and he can become a maniac again. Jellal is litteraly a walking bomb.

I also would lock him though at the same time I would try to help to get his personality established and later let him out.

Tries so hard to settle this situation so no one gets hurt and will now be heading into a possibly permanent jail. There's no way they could have settled this without his help. Of course did a ton of horrible things, but geeze this is a bad way to settle it. Manipulated via magic by Ultear and now ending up like this. Have to say that plan worked out pretty well for Ultear since her guild got what they wanted and even managed to remove a possibly good magician from the enemies list of the future. Definitely dragged out, but was a bit surprised by the Hot Eye and Wally revelation. Though I suppose two people that odd being related shouldn't be so crazy . Still somehow they managed to get out of this. This was probably one of the more inexplicable victories for Natsu though. __________________ Anime-Evo

Really liked the scene that shows Natsu and Igneel behind him when he's about to attack. Like how Natsu shot Zero into the Lacrima. Good thing he remember that he didn't have a lot of time left. So i'm guessing Lahar has strong magic to be able to be on the new council. Kind of sad that Hot eye is being taken away. Never would have thought that Wally would be his brother. Not surprising that they are after Jellal as well. Guy should do his time, but never expected even Natsu to stick up for him. I guess he owes him one. __________________ My Anime List

Agree with the rest of you that first half was a bit dragged out, but nothing that severed my enjoyment. Wendy's Dragon breath was pretty awesome, hope she gains more offensive attacks like that in the near future. When Nirvana was falling apart, I laughed when Gray jumped towards the ground. He sounded all cool while doing it and suddenly he was like ''Ooooh!'' while crashing down. And extra ''lol'' on all the Ichiya's scenes, that guy was REALLY funny. I loved his intro with MEN! fallowed by an echo XD Those council idiots came after fire was already extinguished. Guess they will take Jellal and leave Erza in tears. Since Gajeel joined Fairy Tail, I wonder if Wendy will do the same... __________________
