It's like the opposite of the Suzuka manga. She was always pissed off and overly annoyed at things. In this story the male is the one being pursued.

The author seems to have a thing where the one being courted in a relationship should be a total bitch/jerk.

So flashback to 7 years ago, Haruto sees Eba in the midst of the crowd, crying, so he goes up to see if he can offer some help. Eba says she didn't want to come to this festival and doesn't want to go home either, and says the town is really boring. Haruto wasn't happy that she was dissing his town, so he wanted to bring her to some place cool.

He brings her to some lake that has flowers blooming once every year, and the flower he was talking about was actually fireworks (In Chinese, the word fireworks contain the kanji "flower" in it, so I assume it's the same with Japanese), and the lake has a clear reflection of the fireworks as well. When they returned to the town, they met up with the others and took the photo. When they were about to separate, Haruto tells her that if there is something bothering her again, she can come to this town any time for relief.

Anyway, turns out Eba remembers this event all along, and Haruto wonders why she didn't tell him earlier that they have met before, and Eba says it's a little embarrassing for her to tell him since he seemed to have forgotten. Haruto then remembers about what he told her 7 years ago and wonders if there was something bothering Eba before she came to this town for school.

I don't know what it is, but Seo-san has something special. He can't really draw: he has about three female character designs in total. His protagonists are always annoying: Yamato and Haruto have both had the emotional intelligence of a tomato. And yet I continue to be fascinated as the story evolves. Maybe it's partly because I end up liking all the women in his stories, vague as their outlines are.

I expected Haruto/Nanami to be over, then she gave him hope. She was about to agree to go out with him, but his delight at getting the cookbooks made him completely insensitive to her moves. Now he realizes that he has a previous relationship with Eba. He will find out what the problem is that drove her to him. I wonder what that will make him feel. I expect this to go on for quite a while, depending on how well the series is faring in Japan.

More like one character design with similar hairstyles and either a male or female build. He could stick breasts on Haruto and you wouldn't know the difference

The whole Nanami situation was predictable as expected, since she obviously wasn't going to reject/ignore Haruto's e-mail. The series is doing relatively well, so she'll stick around to keep it going.

I'm more interested in Eba's past, since this could potentially be the driving force that gets Haruto interested in her. Speaking of which, Haruto needs to get smacked upside the head for always being such a cranky bastard. Hopefully his dad will come back to do it

Hi all, new to this thread

I read the whole suzuka manga. I liked honoka and suzuka and it's a pleasent suprise that honoka (i mean eba) is the female lead in this series.

This manga so far is going very well. But I wonder how popular it is in Japan. Becoz i have the feeling that this manga is not so popular there. I don't like to see it drag on but i hate the abrupt ending even more. I still want to see eba's secret XD

I bet Eba isnt gonna come back in two days and Haruto really is an annoying guy. Why does he always get pissed off foer no reason like a spoilt brat. I really hope he notices Eba more coz I would really like Eba to suceed in her love unless the mangaka wants to make Nanami win which in my opinion is stupid as Nanami and Haruto do not get along togeter at all coz most of the time they are so fornal to each other when talking unlike Eba and Haruto who seem to understand and enjoy a lot more together. I don't think this manga has anything to do with suzuka other than having the same mangaka.
Haruto doesn't bother me much, in fact I find Eba a bit annoying. She is so straightforward about her feelings and she obviously has some reasons why (the time when they were kids), but she obfuscates the reasons from Haruto. Nanami isn't much better, with her no, maybe, yes routine, i don't find either of them very likable. I personally tend to favor more straightforward female protagonists (ex. Satsuki in ichigo 100%).
On the other hand Dark mage is probably right about Eba not returning in two days, I smelled the stench of premptive interuption in the plot line. ex. he is on a good date with nanami maybe he has even sealed the deal (like with honoka in suzuka) and then he deserts her to go find eba. maybe it won't be like that but it isn't hard to imagine it will.
