They are almost exactly the same thing as EXCOM, but smaller in numbers due to the fact that standing Belka forces though large are still much smaller than the TSAB itself. The Order of the Hammer, one of 3 Orders that make up the Inquisition (the Belka version of Home Affairs Ministry), is assembled from all over the Sanktgard, Sanktluftwaffe and Sanktmarine, and specially trained and equipped to deal with "Incursions from the Nether" -- scientifically termed by EXCOM as Paranormal Incidents. Some are volunteers, many are "talent-scouted", all put through gruelling testing, and training if they pass, to prepare them for the unthinkable.

Apart from size, the Order of the Hammer is also older; in fact, it is one of the oldest surviving instituitions of Saint Church, dating all the way back to when it was a dark miasma hidden from the public in Ancient Belka. As such, it is very experienced in dealing with incursions, and may seem rather heavy-handed in their operations. As fresher blood enter the ranks, so has the Hammer softened. But let it not lul you into believing that the Order has bluntened; the progress of time has merely changed their tact, but not their effectiveness or efficiency.

A probable key difference between EXCOM and the Order of the Hammer are the presence of a higher tier of professionals. I believe EXCOM does have a First Encounter And Reconnaise (FEAR) unit, and if so, the Cleric Knights would be their equivalent. A few big names of the Chamber Militant would be Grand Meister Sakura Avalon, better known as Saint Saber, Sister-captain Schach, Terminator Ortensia, and by MC 0081, Justicar Elrica and Battle-Sister Sein. Cleric Knights themselves are battle-sisters from the Adepta Belkarum who are very specialized, trained, equipped and then magically-reinforced against any possible Paranormal Threat.

Prior to MC 0075, they were battle-sisters with different magicseeds as they were elite sisters drawn from the few Convents of Adepta the Saint Church still has. After that, with the return of Vivio, the Church Council were able to recreate the Sankt Kaiser's magicseed with the Kaiser's Parchment, allowing a new generation of girls to be magically-enchanted into proper Cleric Knights. Many of the older sisters have returned to their Convents, but some, like Sister Schach, remain to make sure that the new generation of Cleric Knights are ready to face the threats of a new era.

It isn't said but they do possess knowledge of each others specialties (although they might not have the same privilege.) They have standard combat training like the rest of the Cancri Military and everything else that comes with it. It's just that the squadrons are very knowledgeable in each specialization, but they can if necessary carry out each other's orders. Not recommended but it would work.

Edit: Also, for some reason, the name SNSR reminds me of Australia's SASR (Special Air Service Regiment). Deliberate ref?

I based them solely on the SAS so this is pure coincidence actually. Didn't know they existed prior.

Well the SASR is Australia's version of the SAS, which was setup with assistance from the original SAS (the relationship between 22 SAS and SASR is considered to be relatives, while SAS & Delta can be considered sorta like Roy & Hikaru).

Baskir took it with dismay, but his believes into the oath he swore when he joined TSAB and that orders needed to be followed, he accepted the changes.

With this, the TSAB Special Forces Unit became more of a penalty unit where TSAB could dump men & woman who were hard to control or where not accepted by other units. Elric Thorn was put there because he was seen unfit to be used as anything then solo destruction mission. Caro Ru Lushe was also nearly assigned to this unit because of the same reasons.

After all of this, Baskir can be described as grumpy and quick to anger, he uses a mocking tone whenever he talks with people of other branches, but is more relaxed when being alone with 'his boys (and girls)'.

Well that's all I have atm. as he is only a side character so I never really thought about him that much.

The Special Navy Service Regiment (SNSR) is part of the Special Forces of the Cancri State. They operate under the navy in space- and ground operations and carry out extremely dangerous or top secret missions. Section commanders report to its squadron leader, while he reports to the SNSC.

Jackal – Infiltration, Intelligence

Wolf – Assassination, Sabotage, Infiltration
Wolverine – Heavy Assault, Tactical Support

Term Explanation

Assassination – Avoid being comprmoised and take out a vital target.
Assault – Depends on the situation, but usually offers covering fire or similar.
Heavy Assault – More powerful weapons, involves military vehicles.
Engineering – General support, repair and maintenance.
Infiltration – For stealing vital information or prepare for a bigger attack. Also involves hostage rescue.
Intelligence – Gather info by different needs, such as aerial coverage, radar, etc.
Medical – Self-explanatory.
Rescue – Offers transport for injured, Search & Rescue ops and more.
Support – Supplies, covering fire, etc.
Tactical Support – Artillery, Navy hardware allowance.
Transport – Offers logistics, transport of hardware, troops, etc.

Like all the others have mentioned, the name reminds me of the SAS, though this group is far more... encompassing in its scale it seems. And that is one sweeeeet logo there

No she won't smoke; parts of her body are already using way too much technology and medicine to prevent her Dark Linker Core from degrading her body, which have been successful for the most part save for some - like her eyes, which has slightly degraded due to usage of her various 'evil-eye' type illusion spells, hence the glasses.

How did you read my mind.... although my execution is slightly different I was planning on EXCOM being subdivided into F.E.A.R. teams of 10 members each, hence there would be 5 FEAR teams total in the whole of EXCOM, referred to as Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, Delta and Echo. Being stationed aboard the EXCOM flagship Exousia, Mai would be Team Leader for FEAR Team Alpha.

Although I wonder how much smaller the Order of the Hammer is... since I set EXCOM to have only 50 standing members. (Technically, these are only the 50 frontline units officially acknowledged as EXCOM - support elements are not included in the count).

Nothing special, they bumped into each other when Elric wanted to enter Baskirs office and she left it. They then were introduced to each other by Verossa, as it was described in chapter 2 of my story.
