I've been thinking, perhaps the price Athena has to pay (the one Mikado mentioned) is death? I think that scene in which she was in pain was quite odd, and she seems to be in haste. Maybe, she has some illness.

If that is the case, that means Mikado must know about her illness as he mentioned her punishment is too severe. A slow painful death... Is that why Mikado thought it will be difficult for her to maintain her family's name with that illness of her? Or is it because of her loli appearance?

Have you never read/watched any work by Key? Sure, this is Hata, but you cannot rule that out - particularly after this chapter.

Maybe you're all over-thinking this punishment that Athena has/will/is receiving. Perhaps its merely the complexity and, what she would consider, betrayal of her first love in the Royal Gardens in her past.

Eh, well, perhaps someday...

The animes are good adaptations, but I think you don't get the full experience until you've played them. So far, I've only played Clannad and Planetarian. The former, for most of it, it's quite fun. It only gets sad by the end of each route. Planetarian, on the other hand... ;_________________________;

But, anyway, hopefully, Hata won't go Key on us.

Yeah.

Around the middle of each character's story arc, and ending (besides perhaps a hidden, or true end) it gets all very emotional. The VN companies are really good at executing it all (character story, involvement, past, tragedy, then the BGM hits + the artwork...), and then dropping it all together for massive critical damage.


Well, I mentioned how I played over 90 VN's, and I guess I just got tired of them. Too much clicking, annoying VA's, generic story, etc...

If you wanna talk a bit more about them you can PM me, or we'll derail this thread.. lol

Even though it's a comedy manga, Hata might go for a "Key" scene, or ending. Too bad that it will be totally ineffective. Firstly, because we "regulars" follow it every week so the "buildup" will fade a bit each week, and there isn't any sad BGM, or anything else that would give it a greater effect...

It could work if all of the "depressive" chapters got released all at once, and you read them all consecutively, IMO....

damn I'm guilty. I've always read a certain manga all in one day, and the effects were staggering (unless it was a 300+ chapter snorefest).

That's why tragedy types have a charm for me.
