Some announcements for everyone.
First, I'm going to loosen the restrictions on size for entries significantly. Here's the new numbers: Entries cannot exceed a maximum of 500 pixels wide and 250 pixels tall. Entries cannot exceed a maximum of 100,000 bytes. Vertical Signatures are now allowed. Entries cannot exceed a maximum of 140 pixels wide and 350 pixels tall. These limits are only for the contest. If you choose to use your entry as a standard signature, you are expected to stick to the forum rules. Second, we're resetting the theme cycle. Any theme we've already done is now open for reuse. In addition to this, a number of people have commented on themes and what they like/do not like about them. I'm open to suggestions for improving that. That's it for now. I'll be announcing more stuff in the near future.

Aww one thing I liked about the limits was seeing how people were able to pull off simply amazing sigs in that frame of bytes, espc animated ones. though I see how a lot of animated sig makers probably are very happy with this. *looks up at Riker*
Vertical sigs I like, Im all for that as well as the bigger height and width. Quote:

Vertical sig sounds really interesting. I haven't tried that style before, so I'm looking forward to it. @Mr. Wang: Don't feel that way. SOTM, albeit is a contest, should also be considered as a good way to improve yourself. All comments are (should be) given in good faith and good intentions.

What is the possibility of sig battles? Sorry if this post is out of place, but this forum is so big and there is so much stuff to read, and I didn't want to get yelled at for making an entirely new thread. lol
Sig Battles: (Collaboration vs Collaboration) (One vs. One) Theme: Chosen by Challenger (or negotiated) Time-Line: Negotiated (usually 5-7 days) Winner is decided by votes from members. Poll is usually up for (24-48 hours) after both sigs are posted. |

I think we should have a thread for suggestions for theme ideas. That's what I see GFX forums doing and it seems to work well. As for the actual selection process, either the mods can decide or we can let participants C/D a theme suggestion and set the required number of confirmations for a theme idea to be approved at 10 (arbitrary number). I know that picking the theme has been the reward for winning an SOTM, but maybe we should make it something else? A custom user title or some rep points are viable alternatives. That way people don't lose the motivation to participate.
