Try some of Yuu Watase's other crap: Fushigi Yuugi, Alice 19th, Zettai Kareshi...
Though, I think you'd find more quality entertainment in gouging out your eyes...

There are some parallels with Ayashi no Ceres in Elfen Lied and Kono Minikuku Mo Utsukushii Sekai. (For example a girl with 2 personalities outta which one of them is kinda sadistic, both in Elfen Lied and Ayashi no Ceres the main girl is hunted. etc.)

how about something from clamp or shojo beat?

maybe vampire knight, tsubasa, yurara.

The manga I am currently purchasing, but are a different category are, pretty face, kitchen princess, The wallflower, Gentlemans alliance, shugo chara.
