actually I'm a timer, but I'm looking for a group where I'll be able to improve my typesetting skills. I'm familiar with photoshop and a little bit with illustrator. I can do signs with the AFX motion tracking and I'm able to do simple karaoke with the shinjipierre script in AFX. The problem is I'm sticking so I could need some teaching.
I'm also familiar with fonts and basic typesetting features in aegisub but I guess I'd mess up with more complicated things in Aegisub so my hopes are more pinned on AFX.

of course I'll help out with timing and have also a good basic knowledge of japanese. Looking forward to an answer^^

hmm would you like to help my group? well our translator wants to sub Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch, and we need more timers and someone who knows how to do some karaoke, and the typesetting, I probably can help you, but not guarantee, I'm still trying to improve my typesetting as well. hope you'll help us^^

Yet again I'm hard pressed to advertise here for potential staff.

We (Ayako Fansubs) need timers with extensive experience in timing as we do have the time nor energy to expend on training new recruits on the various timing methods we may require.

Just to list a few prerequisites:
Ability to pretime (without translation script), fine time and perform timing shifts and/or corrections.
Ability to do a medium-fine timing in 2-3 hours.
Karaoke timing may be useful.
Basic knowledge of the Japanese language will be very advantageous as timer(s) may want to split lines as per self jurisdiction.

Hello! Chihiro fansubs is presently in need of dedicated editors. Knowledge of Japanese is a plus, but not a requirement. You would most likely be working on Sekirei, but we do have other projects that you can work on, like To Love Ru and Penguin Musume Heart.

So, coreym is an idiot because he forgot to mention the thing we need most desperately.

Anomaly-Subs is looking for a translation checker for World Destruction. You have to know Japanese very well and be able to speak English well enough for us to understand your translations. The job involves checking over a translated script every week and fixing any words or lines that are translated incorrectly.

We'll accept you anyway even if you want to work on one of our other projects, but the one project we really need a good translation checker for is World Destruction.

Translators: Experience is preferred, but if you have decent English and able to translate then, apply.

Karaoke AFX:Able to karaoke the songs of the intro/outro(also known as OP/ED)

Timers: Able to use Aegisub for timing, use lead ins/outs, and scene timing experience is a plus. Experience is preferred.( its not requirement to use Aegisub.)

Editors: Able to have a complete grasp of the English language, basically read through the scrip, identify the grammatical, syntax, etc. errors, and change them

Quality Checkers: Must be able to point out the timing, editing, typesetting, and encoding errors and present it in a QC report. Experience is a must for quality checkers.

Typersetter: Prior experience is a plus, kara experience is also a plus. AFX knowledge is highly commendable and if you have any of those skills, then apply.

Encoders: Have prior experience, able to encode both avi and mkv format ( will be Tested by one of members )

Web Designer: You think you have skills to make this site better? Then send us a sample of your work and you will have a chance to work on this site and become a part of the Genjo-Subs team.

Bot provider/FTP provider: Should have a secure server and give us access to it 24/7.

C1 is looking for a typesetter with both static (advance substation alpha) and AFX experience to finish out S1 of Nodame Cantabile and be part of the S2 team in October. Nodame Cantabile is signs-heavy, with typically 2-3 AFX signs, and 6-10 static signs, in every episode. The goal is to finish S1 in the next 10 weeks (scripts are all done except for typesetting) and then go right on to S2.

pichu is looking for one or two dedicated After-Effects Typesetting (TS) apprentice(s)...

[[Requirements]]:
1. Need to be in fansubbing for at least one year (can't give tips to anyone who knows nothing about fansubbing)
2. Need to know After-Effects fundamentals. (I don't teach AFX)
3. Need to know Photoshop. (a plus for typesetting)
4. Knowing .ass/.ssa is a plus. [Hey, fansubbers must know that]
5. Need to be able to use IRC a lot (like me :P)
6. Need to be dedicated to be a good Typesetter.

[[Goals]]:

1. To be a better typesetter than me
2. Be able to typeset better for excellent fansub releases.
3. Say NO to Eye-Cancer FANSUBS! (i.e., horrid typesetting)
4. Will know about making logos, credits, and signs. Will know how to make AFX karaoke if you're into scripting.

You will be put into the same projects as pichu, and be able to TS with me. I won't give destructive criticism... I only give constructive criticisms, so I will need to screen you first before accepting you.
