Attacking a suspect after they surrendered is police brutality. You may not agree with it but it is what it is. It's not the police's job to dish out judgement they are there to protect and ensure the law breakers are brought to justice not excessively harm them.

I'll end it with this. Police brutality is one thing. But the guy tried to blow everyone up not to mention we know his power is explosions whose to say once they let their guard down he wont do it again. So I think what he did was right

That's why you supposed to restrain him or knock him out with minimal damage to his person. Not use a large ass explosion, that may or may not permanently damage or kill him and say evil must be destroyed. That's what an immature kid, obsessed with revenge says and does

I liked Ruri after she fixed the backpack, her going all goo goo over this new joker was a big negative. The stuff coming up makes me like her even less.

She has a hidden agenda, and thinking how stupid Takara is like the weakest, I dare say her target might be Mikan.

Saying Takara might be strong seems wrong; maybe he is like Touma in To aru majutsu no index,
he might be weak but his resolve is infinite.

we'll see the next chapter, but the way Ruri is fawning over the new guy, I say the same thing...I like her less and less.

Mikan snaps and assaults the cool guy but he aims his explosive power at Takara so Mikan almost dies protecting Takara from the explosion. He's not exactly an anti-hero, he's downright criminal playing vigilante. Good thing Takara survives, and Ruri reluctantly heals them.
